Bethany Hamilton was a teen who resided in Hawaii. Her dream was to become a pro internet user. She coped with her family and was training to win Hawaii local. Bethany and her pals one day decided to head out browsing in “the tunnel” which caused her life to alter. Bethany got attacked by a shark and lost her arm along with 60% of her blood. This delayed her time in practicing and prevented her from browsing. Believing that she wouldn’t be able to make it, Bethany went on a missions journey with her youth group to Thailand.
She was able to find out from going that just because she lost one arm, the world isn’t going to end. She managed to still utilize her arm and browse. She simply had to learn how to adapt to her new life. Bethany’s character sole priority in life was awareness of how essential believing God is. Her character was extremely dissuaded after losing one arm which avoided her from practicing for a long time.
After going on a mission journey and recognizing that she could do all things with aid from God, she turned positive once again no matter what occurred.
With the rely on God, she was able to surf once again as well all though tough work came along. The issue with the misplacement of concerns is that life will not be easy and will never run smooth. In Bethany’s scenario, surfing was crucial to her instead of keeping a good relationship with God.
Because of this, bad events took place. After she connected to God again, she discovered the course He planned for her. Bethany’s sole concern after the mishap was to look for out to other individuals and reveal them that absolutely nothing changes even with one less body part.
She was able to prove people she might still browse. In the end, all her effort settled. The shark attack triggered Bethany to focus on others by sharing her statement which motivated other individuals to open up about God and striving to reach their goals. It helped others to think in themselves and with effort, anything is possible. The “Great” that came from the mishap was that she had the ability to accept herself as the was she is now. She was also able to get a lot closer to God and discover to trust in him.
I am not sure if I would be willing to endure a life altering incident even if I knew it could impact millions for Christ. I do not have a strong relationship with God myself. But I have the skills of a leader and have no problem saying any testimonies in front of people. If I was closer to God and knew my path was crystal clear, I would most definitely be willing to take the incident myself. This way, I would be able to help alter many unsaved lives. But then again, I have no right to say anything because I myself do not know where I stand with my spiritual walk with Christ.
