INTRODUCTION
Many of the teens, kids or perhaps grownups are enjoying anime. A few of them are enjoying Anime in a personal method that can make them comprehend and focus to the story, however there are times that it is seen by group, they state that it is more fun to enjoy Anime with pals or perhaps strangers, however the more the audience the more the disturbance.
Japanese animation is called Anime. The word is the shortened pronunciation of “animation” in Japanese, where this term called all animation, but in other languages, the term is defined as animation from Japan or as a Japanese-disseminated animation style often defined by colorful graphics, dynamic characters and fantastic themes.
For simpleness, numerous Westerners strictly see anime as an animation product from Japan.
The first Japanese Animation (Anime) was Katsudō Shashin, an undated and private work by an unknown developer. Anime emerged in the early 20th century, when Japanese filmmakers try out the animation strategies also originated in France, Germany, the United States and Russia.
In 1917, the first expert and openly displayed works began to appear. Three Tales, aired in 1960, was the first anime revealed on television. The first anime television series was Otogi Manga Calendar, aired from 1961 to 1964.
The 1970s saw a surge of growth in the popularity of Manga, Japanese comic books and graphic novels, many of which were later animated. The work of Osamu Tezuka drew particular attention: he has been called a “legend” and the “god of Manga”. His work – and that of other pioneers in the field – inspired characteristics and genres that remain fundamental elements of anime today. In the 1980s, anime became more accepted in the mainstream in Japan (although less than Manga), and experienced a boom in production. Following a few successful adaptations of anime in overseas markets in the 1980s, anime gained increased acceptance in those markets in the 1990s and even more at the turn of the 21st century.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
Generally, this study examines effects of watching Anime to students of ACLC College of Tacloban. The following questions are the main problems that the students of ACLC College of Tacloban have:
- What are the effects of watching Anime?
- What are the ways to lessen the addiction of students to Anime?
- What are the effects of watching Anime to the students and to their studies?
OBJECTIVES
However the problems stated above has a solution, by doing the statements below:
- To make the Anime as inspiration in studies of students.
- To lessen the addiction of students to Anime.
- To identify the effects of Anime to the students.
- To identify the positive and the negative effects of watching anime.
IMPORTANCE & SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
- This Study will benefit the following people as it will give them clearer view to the effects of Internet to students.
- The STUDENTS. They will be more aware how Anime affects them and understand its moral lessons.
- The RESEARCHER. It will broaden his knowledge about how human Interacts to the effects of Anime and the negative side of it.
- The FILIPINO PEOPLE IN GENERAL. It will determine how the Anime could affect a simple human and to his socializing.
DEFINITIONS OF TERMS
- Manga – the Japanese term for comics.
- Anime – the well-known term for Japanese animation.
- Cosplay – short for costume play.
- Animation – is the process of creating a continuous motion and shape change.
- Samurai – were the military nobility of medieval and early-modern Japan.
SCOPE & LIMITATIONS
This study examines the effect of watching Anime to the students of ACLC College of Tacloban, The researcher has selected some students to identify their experiences about the effects of watching Anime. This study started in February 2014 and will end on April 2014.
