The basic framework and encouragement for this venture has been derived largely from the ideas and design of “Work Ethics Program Online” by Georgia Department of Technical and Adult Education (DTAE) (http://www.
centralgatec. edu/disted/onlineworkethics. pdf). As a win-win proposition for all concerned, Ethics, Inc. shall market the company with the expected results to the advantage of employers/organizations that they have employees with positive work ethic skills increasing their values as employees and that they get the best employees with positive work habits without underscoring the development of motivated work team of employees. The employees, on the other hand, become valuable employees at any time and with any employer.
The Ethics Program targets what is referred to by DTAE as the Ten Desirable Traits comprehensively defined as the trainable areas for the development and enhancement of positive work ethics of employees, namely: attendance, character, teamwork, appearance, attitude, productivity, organizational skills, communication, cooperation, and respect. From these topics will be developed the standards in the formulation of a Code of Ethics for each employing organization and the making of the modules for training.
Monitoring shall be conducted at the end of every quarter during the one-year period or more depending on the terms of agreement between Ethics, Inc.
and its client employer/organization. A continuous evaluation of the impact of the Ethics Program is the most important part that is carried out in an evaluation to commend employees who are found to have exceptional work ethics and to correct those who are found yet to rise to the expectations. In its formative years, Ethics, Inc.
shall recruit 18 employees making up a personnel complement of and all 20 recruits to be subjected to and pass a Pre-Employment Ethics Test to assure their values to the young company. Ethics, Inc. will require its prospective companies/employers to agree on some terms: to be equally committed to the program and therefore, involved; the inclusion of work ethics evaluation on the regular Employees’ Performance Evaluation; and the consistent monitoring to be conducted by Ethics, Inc.
, the results of which shall be feedback to the employer. At the executive echelon, the three organizers shall occupy top executive positions of Ethics, Inc. – one Executive Director with a secretary, one Assistant Executive Director for Administration and Finance with two personnel, and one Assistant Executive Director for Ethics Program with two personnel.
