AI and its Applications in Logistics
The Alite Logistics Solutions is continuously been working for improvisation and betterment of the organization and their customers. We constantly are working on facing new challenges, working over and beyond our customer’s satisfaction for 20 years. Under the head branch of our organization in Sydney, we have of more than 200 highly responsible well skilled staffs connected at ease of the customers. The company makes sure about the customer satisfaction through updated technologies in the services we provide like manufacturing, warehousing, delivery and security(Chin&Sulaiman,2015).
The artificial intelligence is the study of science that deals with the technology that needs some analytical reasoning or intelligence to accomplish. The artificial intelligence is study of computer and computer software solving analytical and logical reason (Nilson,2014).The emergence of artificial intelligence has been a part of our lives. The emergence of smart technology over people’s phone and system has spread a big influence among people. These emergences have affected their purchasing behaviour. People are growing with this technological diversity and this has affected their lifestyles (Ngai et al., 2014). The post, recommendation and updates on social networks that people used to share about a trusted brand or company increases its productivity in the market. The up gradation and innovation is now equally important for the organization to grow on a large scale (Daughtery & Wilson, 2018).
The journey of a product from a source manufacturing company to a consumer is managed by a supply chain management system or logistics (Wilson & Benson, 2016). These logistics provides all kinds of necessary requirements to supply the goods to the consumers.
Logistics solutions may have speed up the transportation of good and provided a proper new way to the trade .In order to match the technological pace of demand,The company needs to be more technically advance in terms of technology to ensure the smooth flow of the products. Artificial intelligence would provide an overall growth that is not limited to one nation but helps to cross distance barriers over land, sea or air (Ivanov et al. 2016).
The logistic industry can use the AI tool to integrate data from diverse source, ,devices and systems . They let them evaluate the transportation carriers, firms, evaluate the terms, make informed decisions and operate with profit. The applications in which the AI can be used are given below (Wang et al. 2014)
Consumer Support:
Over 65 percent of people use artificial intelligence on regular basis ( O’Leary,2013). The customer reviews and recommendation are now recorded online for better and spread over awareness. In order to eliminate language barriers the artificial intelligence have developed linguistic based programming. These systems can be installed in chat bots to interact with the customers while placing the order or taking complains. By removing the language barrier through this linguistic assistance, the business can grow beyond Australia.
Consumer Support
Network optimization:
The multichannel business are dependable over the market for enterprise, the location and the blueprint of the warehouses that could be redefined for delivery at any instance of the time. This problem of the system was solved by the emergence of Big Data. The Big Data helps in joining the networks of social networks, government agencies and lead a pathway to development. This has shown a path to distributed framework of the organization. The big data optimization deals with the optimization methods to develop a multi transport network that could create ports in different countries . The AI analyticities networks while tools helps the logistics manufacturers of warehouse operations by of the company meet the customer demands and simplify the networks of distribution(O’Leary,2013). The active systems optimize the digital network and assure the smooth functioning of the system by maximising usage of the asset by including conveyors and the rack systems.
The optimization in route can be used for enhance delivery on to the real time . These algorithm keep tracks of geographical, environmental, traffic, estimated time of shipment of the products to the customers connected with the organization. The AI algorithms can used live stream through GPS that keeps the record during the product being transported to the consumers safely (Jia et al. 2018).
One of the best reason of adapting these techniques in delivery helps in finding the optimal way to deliver the product in minimal time. In B2C business, one-day delivery is considered as an added bonus to the company. Adding benefit to this technology is that the logistics manager can take Monitoring decisions like performance of the drivers, the time taken to deliver the product, vehicle speed, quantity of parcels and pallets units delivered per day keeping the record of accomplishment of improvement and service planning.
The implementation of internal logistics helps in optimal use of resources and save the wastage, the artificial intelligence make sure that the resources are not wasted and there is enough of products to reach the demand of the clients (Schell, 2013). The organization can increase its productivity by resource utilization at warehouses and distribution centres through creating capitals over warehouses and distribution centres. These algorithm will take care of the warehousing and distribution cost by maintaining data about the resource uses the automated systems can help the companies by tracking pickup, delivering orders, setting up job schedules and checking crew availability to assign work, manage the fleet and manage the logistics network.
Network Optimization
The AI examines job priority, cargo type, weather, traffic and resources capabilities in order to make business decisions by rationalizing pricing and cost of operations(Garcia,2018). It helps the transportation logistics providers to increase the utilization by including work force, equipments used for handling cargo and transport vehicle. It optimises the daily schedule and decreases work load over the employees. The autonomy learning systems have provided the companies with drones and other driverless transport vehicle for the last mile delivery.
The Artificial intelligence give us a new approach to deal with the products , its volume and the number of shipments according to the location, the kind of customers, the type of season, the mode of freight and the preferred delivery time, the weather condition such as temperature and humidity. These data helps in control cost, good customer reviews and reduces time taking process. It increases the capacity of utilization irrespective of the kind of demands they face like B2b and B2c shipments.
In the advance, logistics application helps in the cost minimization strategies. The damaged claim can be analyzed on the way route of the delivery of products. It aids the high rate negotiation of cargo products and can also detect fraud and errors by the tracking the supply chains through these techniques (Liu et al. 2013).
Example: Avnet has 5 million of its transaction over shipping annually and it uses ai to defer delivery and save costs.
Manufacturing:
With the use of Artificial intelligence in every field the manufacturing chain has also not been remain for long. With the artificial intelligence, it is now possible to deliver power energy and travelling facilities without any interruption or barriers. The RDA is used in factories follows specific instruction or algorithm(Stock& Seliger ,2016). It works on the loop but with the artificial intelligence the system will have able to work on its own through cognitive reasoning it posses.
The luxury car companies use the robots to lift heavy loads, paint the car with optimal proportion and work on tricky areas, which cannot be done by the human.
After knowing the application of the AI .the organization can follow the trait and can grow in next five years. The growth of our company is dependent over the artificial intelligence algorithms that we could adapt to be one of the best companies around the nation.
RDA machineries follow the same route from time to time. It follows the algorithm that is input in the system for the manufacturing of the goods. Each machine is allotted with one task and it keeps same action repeatedly. The autonomous robots provide the multi system arrangement through one machine. They are incorporated with the reasoning to assemble, distribute, allocate the product in the conveyor belt. This one feature can manufacture the goods with high precision and in large quantities. The manufacturing chain needs best products in larger quantities and that can sometime impose a pressure over the man power but not on artificial machineries.
Manufacturing
The option of one-day delivery provides many help to organization. With the world moving in a faster pace it is the responsibility of the organization to give better products in less time. In order to compete with other logistic companies like Agilty, DHL , we need to use artificial intelligence algorithm to improvise our delivery systems. This could be possible if we use the artificial intelligence to detect the optimal distance of the delivery address and send our products to the consumers. Through artificial intelligence we can also find the transportation status , the consumer complaints is real or fake, the reason behind damaged product that could ease to know the feedback for the companies.
The installation of autonomous chat bots helped the companies to get more attention towards the consumer. The linguistic feature installation can even help the organization to communicate with the consumers around the globe through these chat bots. These chat bots using the cognitive skills will give solution according to the complain registered and it will also abolish the language barriers. So people from different communities will be able to join the companies.
The above-proposed ideas will have these advantages for the organization(Rusell,2016).
- The autonomous machines will be able to perform difficult task, which is not possible by human. The tasks like deep drilling, lifting heavy loads, assembling peculiar and countless parts of the machines.
- It would not cause any loss of life that was due to fatal accidents in the industry. The intelligent systems or bots will help the human to perform dangerous task like bridges building, destructive jobs without harming themselves.
- The artificial intelligence can make a good decision-making and can help in maintaining the smooth function of an organization.
The common disadvantages of artificial intelligence are:
- Replacing work force is creating less job opportunities in the area(Talib et al. 2015)
- There is too much dependence on the autonomous machineries.
- Too many productions in the companies will cause wastage.
- There must be a constant internet connection and electricity supply available to make the automated system work.
- New features could be very difficult to adapt for the company as well as consumer in the first place,
- The automated machineries cost a lot at very first place.

Legal views |
It helps to make decision on basis of rules and regulation that are followed in organization. Example : regular late coming in an organization is perishable. The computer may show the guilty. |
It cannot distinguish the emotional or abstract decisions ,it can only represent the guilty and cannot state the reason. |
Social views |
It has created variety of networks and kept people connected. People can share their views, thoughts everything with everyone, the interactive machine lessen the language and cultural barriers |
Some parts of Australia are still unaware of the upcoming technology and they might have problem in coping up with one. |
Ethical views |
The decision taking is now easier in an organization. The artificial intelligence comes up with new devices to assure security of the systems at the work place. |
The ethical dilemma could not be solved by the autonomous system |
The ethical issue that should be kept in mind before accessing the solution or the services the organization provides there are certain ethical points that have to be followed in order to maintain safe use of the technologies(Subramanium,2017). All the features that our organization provides would be secured with a private key and only the authorised users are allowed to access the system. This is done to ensure the security of the machineries in the companies. The access room must be under strict supervision because any alteration with the computers or the automated devices can cause huge loss to the client companies. The services should not access from any other computers other than the industries who bought it (Simangsung et al. 2016).The passwords must be weekly updated and the autonomous systems should be scanned for threats. There must be only trusted professional to handle the systems
Conclusion
The report concludes that the Alite solution case study to implement artificial technology in the organization. This organization should come up with certain technological advancement in the field of artificial intelligence for the growth of the organization. In order to maintain a fast pace with the generation we need to upgrade our technology towards the new emergence , with the help of artificial intelligence, we can detect the defects, improvise the product, keep a track of the transportation and delivery status, keep an eye on the distributed networks that the organization works with. Artificial intelligence also helps in creating new products and improving the product at a very large scale.
Ethical Considerations
The inbound logistic solution in manufacturing goods through intelligent system reduces man labour as well as the fatal accidents. The computerised networks are multifunctional and can do many tasks at one time.
Through the above-proposed work, we can improvise our technologies and fulfil the expectation of our clients by the following ideas(Manyika,2017).
- The company should apply inbound logistics ideas like warehousing equipments that could relocate, distribute and assemble the products in the industry rather than following one action at a time.
- The company should bring more interactive products that could accept voice inputs and complete the task in preferred time.
- The installation of GPS in transportation will help us to track the status of the product and let us know the difficulty that could be face in way of the products.
- The communication barriers could be decreased for the client companies and us by installing linguistic intelligence system.
- We should come up with more advance technologies to enhance security through artificial intelligence like biometrics, voice recognition, retina scan.
