The photo media is one of the field that had been used by range of industries in various ways where it incorporates photographic process where images, audio and video contents are used where much creativity is applied.
The photo media it is much applicable due to it pervasive nature and its usability in wide range of fields including cultural events and conceptual events .
Photo media consists of various imaging using various photos by the various artists which involves use of historic photographic trajectories.
However in our industry called DIGITAL IT SOLUTIONS we make use of the photo media which is applied in various places especially in the marketing industry.
Below are some of the uses of the photo media in our industry and profession.
- Advertisement.
The photo media is used to do advertisements where as a results it promotes the product and the service through the brand designs ,imageries, grabbling the views attentions and attraction which makes a powerful characters that promotes the products brand and hence it make it more marketable (Browne, 2014) ..
- Marketing .
Photo media also is highly used by the marketing personnel where using the various images in the marketing websites or e-commerce the business owners are able to display variety of their products to their target customers and give them wide range to select from and thus they increase their potential customers and sales (Edwards, 2016) .
- Education.
The photo media is used in the learning institutions by the trainers to display the images of the respective learning areas and this makes the students understand the concept more quickly (Hannavy, 2015) .
- Art work

The photo media is used in the promotion of the art works where the artists use some concepts which are interesting and through this artwork messages are sent to the public to promote their work to the public.
In this photo media industry there is use of immersion which involves the analyzing critically the image by deeply thinking about how to design it ,below are two projects used by two different artists describing the process of implementing the photo media project .
Project 1
Artist 1- Erik Johansson
This project is designed by one professional know as Erik Johansson who is who had trained himself in field of photographing and retouching ,he is able to come up with ideas and eventually come up with a fine picture that consists of various combined photos.
Assessment component 2: Photomedia immersion
However while implementing the photo media project he put much effort and ensure that every picture looks as if it is real picture.
Objective:
The core objective of this artist is to ensure the photo created is realistic where it looks like the resultant image was captured and so attractive .
However this will show that the ideas that he realizes looks so realistic and have some sense of humors in them.
This artist plays with perception of people and they think his photography is a real thing that happened.
The target audience:
This artist called Erick mainly targets the audience who uses computers ,mobile devices which has internet access and those like visiting him in his art workshop showroom ,however he also target any other group that had used his artwork there before (Lenman, 2017).
The timeline or schedule:
Erick carry out the own tasks within some days, weeks or number of months depending on the type of the work he is doing.
The concepts in some cases take much time since he need to find a perfect spot for shooting which it becomes a challenge in some cases or the season could hinder him too.
However while performing his commission he uses a shorter deadline which can be one week from start to the end.
The development and milestone stages:
In performing the photo media immersion there are various stages that are followed by this artist ,below are some of the stages that are followed.
- Planning the process.
Erick start the process by sketching ,this is after identifying a certain idea that he find is important to realize it ,however he proceed and identifies the places that he can do photographs shooting and putting the photos together.
This stage usually takes can take time which can be either days, months or even years and this stage is very critical since the it will determine the final look of the photo since the raw materials are gathered at this level.
In this stage also is used to resolve problems by checking on the way to make the perspective, reflection, material and lighting to ensure the photo becomes realistic.
- Shooting and material gathering.
In this stage the camera is used to shoot the identified images and they are all placed in one place waiting for editing process.
- Combining of the photos.
This is the stage where the various images are opened using the editing software and then they are modified to make the resultant photo.
Assessment component 3a: Creating your production blog
The delivery and output requirements:
Erick posses the photos which are printed in a museum-quality paper using a ink of very high quality and they are available in his personal website in various sizes.
However Erick work is also featured in promotion media that he has worked on as well ,there is also a book that has his featuring art works by name IMAGINE.
Summary of the creative approach the artist used:
Erick usually gives his art work as photo realistic surrealism, where he is guided by three key rules .
- The combined photos are supposed to be similar in perspectives.
- Combined images should haves similar light types.
- Combined photos should be seamless in nature.
Summary and description of the technical approach, tools and technologies the artist employed:
This artist while creating his photography and retouch requires to use some of the tools listed below.

Artist 2- Tommy Ingberg
This project is designed by Tommy and mainly deals with analogues photography where he work on black and white while creating surrealistic montages ,and this he achieves after photographing images in his own studio.
This composition of photos is termed as minimalist, scaled backs, which uses just few elements that are used to make the storyboard but the viewers are given chance of filling and interpreting and as a result they produces surrealist and looks real.
Objective:
The core objective of Tommy in his surrealistic works is to give explanation of abstract things which includes feelings or thoughts ,that are used in expression of the picture’s sub consciousness.
However while doing photography he makes use of consciousness ,thoughts and the feelings as requirements to do the photo compositions.
The main aim is to enable the photo viewers raise some questions and give the answers just by having a look at the pictures.
The target audience:
Tommy targets the audience who usually check on his websites using the internet enabled devices and his arts show visitors ,however he make much use of internet to ensure that he has reached to his potential audience.
The timeline or schedule:
Tommy usually holds some sessions for creative activity which takes about one to two hours for several times within one week and this enables him to get some ideas.
Once the idea is identified he pauses for a number of days where he later takes 4 to 16 hours using his camera and computers to ensure he has finished his picture relating to the idea.
The development and milestone stages:
Tommy will have various stages to make his creative pictures which includes the following.
- He allows wandering of his subconscious in his mind and come get reflection that allow him to gather the project pieces together in his mind.
- He then draw a sketch the idea ad thoughts in a book or piece of paper to get the concepts .
- After getting the concept he start to shoot the photographs needed which he capture inside his studio using some controlled lights .
- He continue by putting them together in the Photoshop editing software .
- Finally he comes up with the draft photo to review the work and determine if he require reshooting of the photo elements.
Assessment component 3b: Creating your production blog*
The delivery and output requirements:
The art work are only obtained from him personally or from his gallery since they are limited editions printouts ,however the original printouts are signed and given number using hands .
There are various edition sizes ranging from 10-20 or even many print outs which are usually affordable but depends on motif.
However he poses an online exclusives printouts collections that he makes to ensure that his art work is available to large number of people possibly, these prints comes from his series of journey and has a number of editions ad different sizes and can be located in his curios and his personal website.
Summary of the creative approach the artist used:
This artist called Tommy mainly work on photography and edition of the digital images ,he creates minimalistic and self-reflecting surreal photos montages that deals with human natures, feeling and even thinking.

In this photo media project i had decided to design a website blog that will mainly be used to post my photos and the viewers will be able to comment giving reviews, feedbacks and discussions as well.
Target audience and people.
In this project the my main targeted group of audience is the people who has access to the internet enabled devices and they will be able to access the blog using the provided link.
However they will only view the photos but in order to leave a comment or review they will require to create an account then login using their accounts credentials which are username and password.
Assessment component 4: Design elements
There are various principles that are applied in photography ,however in my project I have used the following principles.
In the above image I captured using balance principal where the particles are arranged in a pattern to ensure equal distribution form one side to the other ,however to ensure there is perfect balance the image was taken symmetrically .However other ways to achieve balance is by use of the asymmetry and the radial types of arrangements as in the above image.
- Harmony
Assessment component 4: Design elements
The above image was captured on a falls using the harmony principal ,where the harmony principal applies where there is consistency, order ,and attractive arrangement of photo parts where there is congruence .
This has been applicable since same elements had been used and it is displayed in a pleasant way and implies simplicities.
In this image the leaves which has orange and yellow colors surrounds the image frames and results to a simplicity ,however the water displays white color and also displays simplicity and harmony as well.
- Pattern/Rhythm
This is the image that i captured where the image has a unique pattern or rhythms and in it there are some items and elements that are repeated in a given way and manners ,as a result has to make the eyes of the viewer to keep on moving in a rotational way around each and every element (Stroebel, 2016).
- Unity
This is the other principal applied when I was capturing the image and it is called unity where the parts of the art work are taken and then the be unified to produce a better image as a result.
However the Composition principle can be used to do this in a better way where the image is split into pieces and then are unified through unity principal.
- Variety
This is one principle which make use of the variety of the elements for this case the image captured was consisting of many types of shells ,however the image had been created where types of shells are differed and as a result the image created resembles unity and shows that all are types of shells.
Assessment component 5: Image editing
This photograph I intended to increase the length below are the steps followed.
- Open the editing tool called paint.
- Copy the image and paste it in the tool.
- Select the image.
- Choose resize option on tool bar.
- In the opened dialog box select pixels and edit the horizontal from 270 pixels to 300 pixel.
- Click ok button to complete the process.
The below images the left image is the original while the right is the resultant image and they both help to achieve my goal to increase the length of the image.

This photograph I intended to increase the height and below are the steps followed.
- Open the editing tool called paint.
- Copy the image and paste it in the tool.
- Select the image.
- Choose resize option on tool bar.
- In the opened dialog box select pixels and edit the vertical from 224 pixels to 280 pixel.
- Click ok button to complete the process.
The below images are used where the image on top is the original while the bottom image is the resultant image and they both help to achieve my goal to increase the height of the image.

The below photograph is required to be cropped to reduce the size below are the steps followed.
- Open the editing tool called paint.
- Copy the image and paste it in the tool.
- Select the image.
- Choose crop option on tool bar.
- On the sides of the image hold the handles and drag them to the desired size
- Finally save the image by use of Ctrl+S.
The below images are used where the image on the left is the original image while the right image is the resultant image and they both help to achieve my goal to do cropping of the image.

Assessment component 6: Image compositing.
The image composition is require to combine various images using paint photo editing tool, where the images were captured in using the camera where the images captured have different scenes ,the images reflects the environment features including trees and grasses ,however there are other types of images that shows fruits which consists of the mangoes and tomatoes ,the other set of images consist of the household items and they are chairs and wall unit (Warren, 2014)
The below images are used to create an idea of the home environment where chair is used for sitting and wall unit to store fruits and the ,however the trees are for providing shade to the residents while the grass will be used to graze the animals and as a resting place under the shade.

Brief description of three blog entries.
In the process of blog production there are three entries that awaits comments from the viewers ,below are the three blog entries.
Entry 1:Resizing of the image length
This is where the image is edited where the pixels are increased and the resultant image is smaller in terms of length as shown in the images below in the blog.
Entry 2: Resizing of the image height.
This is where the image is edited where the pixels are increased and the resultant image is smaller in terms of height as shown in the images below in the blog.
This is the process of elimination some parts of the image and the resultant image becomes smaller in size as in the blog below.
Objective:

Assessment component 6: Image compositing
Once the idea is identified I will relax for few days and then take a period of two weeks where I will take photos and then edit them using the computer to generate the desired photo as planned in the idea.
The development and milestone stages:
In the project development i will take various stages to make my creative image and among the stages will be.
- Allowing wandering of my subconscious in my mind to get reflection that will allow me to gather the project pieces together in my mind.
- I will then draw a sketch of my idea in a notebook or piece of paper to get the concepts .
- After getting the concept I will start to take the require photos using my camera.
- I will then continue by putting them together in the Photoshop or paint editing software .
- Lastly I will come up with the draft photo to review the work and determine if he require reshooting of the photo elements.

My art work consists of photography and edition of the digital images captured using the camera and the resultant photos will mainly deal with human natures, feeling and even thoughts.

A brief reflection on the combination of traditional and contemporary
In this project only the digital technology was used ,where the digital camera was used to capture the images which were edited and combined using the paint photo editing tool ,the traditional method was not used since the required equipments are not available and also out of market.

In the process of this project implementation there are various codes of conducts that will require to be followed to ensure the legal process is followed below are the safety and ethical practices.
- Responsibilities to Colleagues and the Professionals
This is achieved by ensuring that the services displayed by the photograph is displaying honesty and there is fairness in it as well,however the copyright of the image contents is also taken care of as well.
- Responsibility to Subjects
In the project implementation the privacy and the right of other people’s subjects and also there was no any deceitfulness while getting the images to be used.
- Responsibilities to the Clients
As I was implementing this project I was able to take care of the client’s needs professionally and the interests of the clients was also considered. However where there was viewers as my clients I could ensure there is confidentiality in the information they provides.
- Responsibilities to Employees and Suppliers.
Assessment component 7: Refine your ideas through experimentation with your
In this case there are some employees where they can supply me with some information from the field therefore it becomes my duty to honor their legal financials and ethical obligations to any of my employees or suppliers.
- Responsibilities of the Photojournalists
This is another ethical practice that I required to employ where taking of images is done with honesty and the image accuracy is ensured ,with no image alteration or trying to disclose any alteration made in the photographs.
Assessment component 10: Milestone stages
My photo media project will take various stages before the completion and this can be confirmed in the below stages.
Stage 1:Thinking of my project idea.
In this stage I spent some weeks to come up with the idea where i could use two hours per day trying to compare various possible approaches to use, after few weeks I came up with home environment project where I intended to use the homestead items like chair and wall unit.
However in this project ill make use of fruits image which will be used by the owner of the home ,then finally in the home compound there is the trees and the grass environment where the residents will sit and enjoy the shade in a cool environment.
Stage 2:Making sketches.
In this stage I made the drawings that will resemble the expected photos ,that will be obtained after the images are captured and combined using the photo editing tools.
This is the stage that I went to the field and captured the images of the required photos using my canon camera where I stores them together waiting the editing process.
This is the stage that I took the captured images and imported them in the computer ,then i opened the paint editing tool in order to start combining the images as shown in the images below.
The combined images gives the image of the idea that I had in mind to ensure that all features and the components are visible i place the images strategically without hiding or replacing any of the captured images.
In this project the required technical requirements had been met to deliver the project however below is the resultant image of the proposed project where all the components are well fixed and one final image is produced.

Assessment component 8: Specifying a project brief
The development process will have the to use the technical and creativity processes however ,in the technical part there is need to use more of modern devices like camera to capture more clear and quality photos which will be eventually be used to take the images to be used in the project development process.
Other issues to be improved in the technical area are the use of various software tools this is to fine edit the photo and also the quality of the final image is improved.
Thoughts on the level of success to achieve professional ,artistic and learning objectives.
The project is required to be delivered in a professional way and the artistic skills require to be used and according to the project delivered all the requirements are achieved in the resultant photo media project.
However the objectives set for learning have been achieved since all the processes had been followed which ranges from the development of ideas, making of the sketches, shooting of images and editing of the captured images using the best editing tool like the paint or photoshop.
Level of success .
After interacting with the audience there are various feedback obtained, where they post their comments against the posted project images.
However according to most of the reviews by the customers the output is fine and the process was fine, however some could recommend the modification of the sketches and the number of images to be increased.
Generally the whole process is successful according to the reviews of the majority viewers.
Possible creative and technical ways to refine, improve and modify your work.
In the process of development of my project I could identify the possible way of using other tools in the editing process , there are other advanced tools that could be used like the latest versions of editing tools like photoshop cs 2017 which will produce more advanced results.
Level of success in achieving personal, professional and creative goals
In this project I could measure high level of success in terms of personal, professionalism and creativity goals where all ethics issues were catered for and the project delivery was done successfully as per requirements.
