Venue Design Principles and Application to Crowne Plaza Terri Gal Pacific
- Has purpose of the design which was intended met or achieved?
This facility and possible analysis of structure are focused on the Crowne Plaza Terri gal Pacific which is actually situated on the beach region. This building is very close to the houses that actually overlook the lawn area.Infront of the lawn bowl area is a park. Also in front of the corner shop is playground (Lopez and Gunasekaran 2015).
The exterior of the building has a very bright yellow and blue painted wall that looks very smart. This particular building looks very unique since there are no other buildings that have similar design in the same area. For example the shops that are found in the corner areas appear less contemporary. Contemporary designs of architecture refer to those kinds of the recognizable and specific constructions that are characterized by the use of industrial materials.
These construction materials include steel, concrete and possibly glass. These materials are derived from the ornamentation and then assembled in manner that give geometrical volumes in the spaces laid.Besides,the aesthetic value of these structures rely on sharp corners that are made from the concretes with other two circular panels that make the venue rectangular. The other structures that have white concretes perfectly compliment the building due to their shape and also colour.The accessibility of the building is very important especially for those who are using the building. This building is very much accessible due to those roads that lead to the entrance and this entrance is very noticeable (Pagnotta and Philippon 2018).
- Have the objectives of the various stakeholders been met?
The Crowne Plaza Terri gal Pacific is close proximity to the public transport which the attendees of the hotel can easily access the place by cars, buses or even train. There is no problem of accessibility by those walking on foot especially if they live nearby. The hotel has made some local arrangement and provides individuals with transport from Tuesday to Sunday. Users are picked and dropped off to the venues courtesy of the hotel (Kuntsche and Labhart 2013).
The venue itself has got very many facilities for the guests and also members at the hotel to enjoy. These include lawn bawls, function rooms,smokies and a bar. Inside the function rooms the hotel holds events like graduations, award ceremonies, meetings and many other relevant events. In the area of bar, live music’s are common especially on Saturdays and Fridays. The main clients are family friends and major hotel members (Markham, Doran and Young 2014).
The Rationale behind Venue Condition Assessment
Other recommendations or considerations that should be put in place for effective running of the facility.
Within the place and the external places of the Crowne Plaza Terri gal Pacific are design problems that need to be corrected or adequately addressed. These particular changes can negatively impact the experience of the user or the attendees of the hotel and influence to some extend the revenues of the place. It is important to note that not all the design problems can be effectively resolved to the location of the building and its surrounding areas (Engström, Larsson and Larsson 2013).
It is also important to note that the location of the venue will greatly influence the attraction of the visitors alongside those physical features. In addition there are existing venues that offer competition for similar services and products. If these venue implications are not properly addressed, the attractiveness of the venue will be decreased. One of the external issues that have to be addressed is poor maintenance. On the walls is a patch that looks very ugly and need repair and repaineted.This patch is located on the right corner next to the entrance of the building (Gara et al 2012). This particular patch impacts negatively the appearance of the venue. Painting of this patch will enhance the attractiveness of the building and may motivate the attendees of the unit. Another external problem are those concrete structures that are found on the front section of the building especially at the point of entrannce.Their shape are not actually appealing and needs to be redesigned so as to compliment the venue (Cuellar et al 2016).
Moreover, the surrounding areas can impact the experience of the user negatively. There are disruptions from the nearby houses and the train line in the lawn bawl areas. These disruptions include the thrown objects, verbal noises and also the noise coming from the nearby houses. In addition the residents of these structures may possibly have issues with the noise from the kids using these facilities during the holidays( Rudin and Wagstaff 2014).
The parking also has issues that need to be addressed. There are several potholes in the place that pose health hazard and safety issues. These holes can potentially because damage to the attendees cars. These pot holes do not only affect the cars but also people who can possibly trip over and the non-leveled areas and injure themselves. They do not only reduce the attractiveness of the place but it is also a safety hazard( Carey et al.2015).
Assessing the Condition of Crowne Plaza Terri Gal Pacific using VCA Form
The theory;
The condition assessment of the venue provides a picture of the conditions of a facility or the venue to calculate the capital budget requirement for the bigger corrections and also replacements for sometimes (Lee and Tsang 2013) The VCA should however not be confused with the energy audit though it assists in the identification of the possible areas of energy losses. When the equipment is kept in proper working conditions, it will help I saving of energy in nearly all the sectors. When any equipment is operating on an efficient manner, there is likelihood that that the customers’ demands will be met at the required time( Baum 2016).
The objectives – why we use it;
VCA helps the management authorities to know the best ways of prioritizing funds for the replacements and repair. In general definition, the VCA assessment visually identifies main deficiencies for the systems within the facility. The commonly evaluated areas include structural systems, site systems, building exteriors, plumbing systems, electrical systems. This assessment is normally extended to fixtures, furniture and equipments.In the extreme end it is normally extended to the environmental assessments (Brazier et al.2014).Several approaches are used in the performance of the VCA at the component level. In this level, every piece of the equipment is evaluated. This practice includes estimation of the of the remaining service life of the equipment alongside its value. At the system level, a lot of emphasis is put on the system condition and value as opposed to grouping of the components. Statistical methods that include use of parameters exploits extrapolation to predict the entire facilities inventory (Wang, Chen and Chen 2012).
VCA provides insight about the remaining useful life of the material. As a result of this identification, the life of the equipment can be possibly extended through the use of the proper repairs that are done at the right time (Chen, Cheung and Law 2012) This will increase the time that the equipment takes before its life come to an end. Increase of the equipment life is known to have both negative and positive impacts on the environment of the equipment itself. Some of the advantages of this practice are that the equipment remains useful for long time. This possibly reduces the need to have the raw materials for the manufacture of new pieces of the equipment. The negative impact is that the efficiency of the equipment is highly reduced (Catbas et al 2013).
Recommendations for Management
VCA identifies the deficiencies of the equipment. As a result, that equipment’s that have perfect energy effigies can be put into use. The consumption of energy is much likely to be higher in the cases where the equipment has got a lot of deficiencies. There is continuous maintenance of the customer satisfaction. This is made possible from the fact that the man agent team has already budgeted for the financial resources to ensure that the equipment operates reliably.Also,the VCA identifies recommendations that supports proper work environment that improves the comfort of the occupants( Martínez et al 2013).
A lot of improvements have been realized through VCA tool in the seating arrangement. Proper arrangement that allows for easy movement is very crucial in the hotel since it enhances safety especially to the clients. Congestions normally discourage attendees who may opt for specious places.
