Moreover, the paper will also provide a literature review on the basis of human resource management system of the organization and its effects and impact on the organization. For this purpose, an argument will be provided on the basis of five articles that gives a proper idea about the human resource management team of the organization and its advantages and disadvantages on the transportation sector. Furthermore, a conclusion has been provided that will give a proper idea of this management team in this transportation sector.
Costs of fuel: As the transportation industry sells transport but due the increase of fuel make some issues on buying their product. In the present world the fuel cost is increasing day by day and due to this transportation costs has also increases (Batarlien?, ?iži?nien?, Vai?i?t?, Šapalait?, & Jaraš?nien?, 2017). The increase in the cost rate not only affected the transportation process but the company also gets affected by this process. Due to the delay of the services, they could not give the product to the customer at the stipulated time and hence this causes a greater dissatisfaction with the customers and its effect the business too. For diminishing the problem company has to make the proper business strategy which lows down the transportation costs. By using a software the challenges should be diminished and in case of small industry, the transportation cost should be reduced by using a third-party agency which helps the industry to give their services a per the secluded time to the customer. This helps the industry to do their best results in the market (Bindi, 2016).
Conditions of the road: Depending on the condition of the road the transportation costs increase or decrease and thus it affects the transportation sector to grow their business in the market (Bolton, & Foxon, 2015). If the conditions of the road are good then the transportation cost does not affect so much but if the condition of the road is poor then it affects the truck condition as well as the maintenance cost increases and thus the company gets losses on their expenditure. If the truck is affected tremendously in such a manner then the company responsible is to repair the truck and it involves a huge amount of money and thus the business suffers from this problem.
Literature review
Offering good customer services: Customers always want to receive item or product at their stipulated time. They want that the product should be delivered to them at the time given by the organization and this problem occurs mainly in case of logistics supply industry (Boon, & Verhoest, 2016). The logistics industry in the present days provides the location of the parcel that can be tracked by the customer as they are directly connected to the social media. Due to this the expectations of the customer has increased and they are willing to pay extra money to gets their product before the stipulated time and this causes a problem to the business as well as the customer is dissatisfied by the company. For serving the product before the scheduled time the transportation costs increases and hence it affects the company growth in the market.
Management of manpower: Manpower is the most important factor for the transportation sector and it can be accelerated by the management of the organization (Ding, Kam, Zhang, & Jie, 2014). In the transportation sector, manpower is most needed and absence of any staff or driver can create a huge problem for the business. For this reason, manpower management is important and the team has appointed an alternative employee hence in absence of any driver or staff does not cause any big problem of serving the product or services to the customer. In case of transportation sector the driver or staff has to travel to a long geographic range and any deterioration in condition of this driver causes a big issue to supply the product on that certain period of time and thus for this reason the management team has appointed another staff who can diminish such problem and bring the product at the stipulated period of time.
Driver shortage: The most important member that can run the transportation sector is the driver. Hence if any shortage of driver occurs then it creates a big issue not only for the company but it also affects the transportation facility (Green, Sissons, & Lee, 2017). Employee retention is one of the crucial function of the HRM and it needs to be flowed effectively in order to retain the employees. There are many reasons for the shortage of driver in the transportation sector, one is the long hour’s duty which creates a boring feeling on the driver. Another reason is the minimum wages offered that not satisfies the workers’ needs and the most important is to bring the product on the certain period of time offered by the company (James, & Jones, 2013). This causes a big problem to the management to hire a good driver for their business.
Government regulations: The governmental regulation makes a big issue for the transportation sector. This is because when the truck or any transporting agent travel from one city to another or even from one district to another then a minimum amount of tax has to be given by the company driver and hence it causes a loss in the business (Kaewunruen, Sussman, & Matsumoto, 2016). To overcome this issues the driver mainly avoids the main road and often uses the poor road though it decreases the tax cost it increases the maintenance cost on the other hand.
Environmental problem: The environmental issue is one of the main factors that affected the transportation sector. Any problem in the environment does not only delay the working process as well as it may give rise to the accident in some cases. If this arises then the maintaining cost gives a huge loss to the company turnover (Khan, Arafin, & Hossain, 2017). Due to this issue the company appointed skilled driver that can understand the company motives and can fulfill the company needs as per the stipulated time so that the company can satisfy the customer desires on time.
Technology, strategy, and implementation: The transport system builds new technologies that help to improve the safety, efficiency and the environmental issues. Due to this government takes serious steps to improving the technologies by providing investor, facilitator and many other services (Lofquist, 2016). Moreover, the development of the technologies can only be accepted by the private company rather than the government sector because on improving the technologies a high amount of cost will be involved.
As per the author Pawlik, & Neumann, 2015 the HR management will appoint the employees in a firm for the transportation services. According to the author a close association has existed between the employees and the HR management of the firm and this strategy gives benefit to the HRM as well as the employees. The research methodology of this article briefly describes the HR management process in an organization that can affect the transportation firms operating in Tamil Nadu. For the collection of the data, the author used sampling technique which helps to understand the HR procedure of the transportation firm. A survey was conducted by the author on 650 participants of the organization and the results on the HR management are recorded in a table (Oborilová, Myšková, & Melichar, 2015). This result shows the relation between the benefits of the HR and the employee satisfaction on such benefits in the firm. After analyzing the whole process the results shows that absence of proper planning by the HR management in the firm not only affected the business growth but also causes lack of skilled employees in the organization. Due to this problem the company got affected. For this problem now the company has decided to use proper strategy or plan that can fulfill the needs of the employee as well as the company gets benefited from developing this new strategy. According to the author Salvi, & Subramanian, 2015 the Human Resource Management gives good impact to the transportation sector in the market. The author in this article gives an idea on the human resource management system and its advantage on the transportation industry.
On the basis of the human resource management, a company will provide a competitive advantage that helps the growth of the transportation industry in the market (Shehadeh, Zu’bi Abdallah, & Maqableh, 2016). The main motive of the article is to find an idea of the impact of human resource management on the transportation sector and their impact increases the competitive growth of the industry in the market and thus it increases the employee turnover as well as the retention. According to the author, the main objectives of the article is to demonstrate the benefit that occurs in a transportation industry (Azad, Rasul, Khan, Sharma, & Hazrat, 2015). To determine the benefits of the transportation industry a survey was conducted in between the executives, managers and the other officers of the transportation company to get a valuable result on the impact of the human resource management in the sector. For this, the company was selected randomly by the author that includes 183 companies all over the world. Among the 183 companies, about 97% of companies were local transportation company and the other 3% includes foreign transportation company (Ayentimi, Burgess, & Brown, 2018). The results of this survey provide that 62% of the transportation sector focusses on the advertisement of the business while about 36% of the companies will pay attention to the employees. By this result, it is seen that the human resource management team focuses on the performance management of the employees which gives full attention to the external as well as the internal factors that affect the business in the market. Hence the author concluded that the HRM plays an important in developing the performances of the employees of the organization as well as it helps the organization to be in its leading position in the market.
As per the author Stergiou, Psannis, Kim, & Gupta, 2018 the human resource management also has a bad impact on the transportation sector. Due to this, the author makes a case study on all the transportation sector of Czech Republic. On this case study, it is seen that the lack of motivation, rewards and compensation to the employee by the HRM team decreases the competition level of the transport sector in the market. Though the human resource management team in some transport sector of these countries plays a good role and increases the competition level of this transport industry in the market. The main purpose of the article is to generate an idea of the management quality which affects the function of the transport industry and hence many disadvantages arise due to such management. Due to such problem, the employee faces many challenges and thus it effects the human resource management team in the organization. With the help of this experiment, the author can determine the disadvantages of the management on the employees of the transportation sector. On the basis of semi-quantitative scale, different groups were made that analyzed the effect of human resource management in the industry. Along with this, a table was made providing a full chart about the disadvantages caused by the management team of the transport sector of Czech Republic (Ahmed, Al-Amin, Ambrose, & Saidur, 2016). The author suggested that recruiting and selecting a right team for the human resource management can give positive results to the company. Thus the economic growth of the firm as well the firm gets good competition in the market which increases their business growth in the market. The author also recommended that the organization should have to pay attention on the legal, ethical and safety factors that affected the performances of the employees working in that firm.
In the words of the author Sumathi, & Parimala, 2018 the human resources management give a huge impact on the logistics and supply chain industry. Due to this, a case study has been done on the logistics service of China that gives a result of the impact of human resource management team in such industry. A large logistics sector has been chosen for the case study to see the impact of human resource management team on this logistics. This article provides an idea about the effect of human resource management team in this logistic and supply chain industry. After conducting the case study the author revealed that the human resource management plays an important role in the success of the logistics business in China. The analysis revealed that the design of work are quite attracted by the people of China. For getting the accurate results the author uses many processes to collect the accurate data which help him to understand the role of the management team in the logistics and supply chain industry. A short survey had been conducted by the author and simple questions were made relating to the topic and these easy questions help him to collect more data from the employees of the firm. From the results of this survey, the author concluded that the managing diversity and the work-life balance plays a major role in the success of the logistics and supply chain business in China. Although the author Tongue & Engwall, 2014 argues on the transportation of manufacturing products from Japan to India that needs a proper management team which can run the whole function of the organization. Moreover, the article shows that learning, development and career management by the HR team increases the growth of the business in the market. Actually the main aim of the article is to find out the impact of management practices in the transportation industry. For this, a research has been conducted and qualitative data were collected in three trips for determining the impact of the human resource management. Thus it is seen that the author conducted an interview of 31 people to collect relevant information about the importance of HR management in a transportation industry. After getting the results the author concluded that the human resource management team is important for the transfer of a company from one country to other.
Conclusion
The paper provides a view of the challenges faced by the transportation sector in the whole world. From this, it is concluded that the problems faced by the transportation industry give a huge impact on the business as well the customer are also affected by the services provide by them. Furthermore, a literature review is also done on the basis of the function of human resource management and its effects on the organization.
