Problem Statement
Discuss about the Supply Chain Coordination And Productivity In Echelon Supply.
Inventories might range from raw materials, cash as well as finished goods and effective management of inventory might facilitate in optimizing the supply chain of organizations, decrease cash flows along with limiting the chance of inventory shortage occurrence through various orders (Ptak & Schragenheim, 2016). Considering such research problem it can be said that it is of great importance in optimizing the inventory management for satisfying the strategic performance goal of organizations. Bullwhip effect is kind of issue that is being observed recently in the supply chains of the companies. In this issue the demand variability increases as one shift up the supply chain. Moreover, the perception of the managers regarding the impact of practices of inventory management on the financial performance of manufacturing companies in Nepal.
Such distorted information all through the supply chain results in inefficiencies of maintaining the inventories as well as organizational performance (Silverman, 2016). Certain issues related with supply chain management that can drastically effect the inventory management and performance of the companies include high inventory investment, poor customer service, and lost revenues, ineffectively guided capacity plans, poor transportation as well as missed manufacturing schedules. The current research focuses on addressing the identified research problem in order to save the logistics costs. This can considerably enhance the service levels of organizations to enhance their performance through redesigning its network of supply chain.
The aim of the research is to evaluate the “Supply Chain Management Impact on Inventory Management and Productivity”. The objectives set in the current research are explained under:
- To investigate the ways in which supply chain management has impact on productivity
- To explain the ways in which the inventory management has an impact on productivity
- To evaluate the supply chain and inventory management in manufacture industries of Nepal
- To analyze the impact of supply chain and inventory management impact on productivity of manufacturing industries in Nepal
The research questions those are set in the current study for attaining answers for the same at the completion of this research is explained under:
- What are the ways in which supply chain management has impact on productivity?
- What are the ways in which the inventory management has an impact on productivity?
- What is the impact of effective the supply chain and inventory management in manufacture industries of Nepal?
- What is the impact of supply chain and inventory management on productivity of manufacturing industries in Nepal?
The research will be carried out in order to analyze the ways in which the supply chain management in the organizations can improve their inventory management as well as their profitability (Stevens & Johnson, 2016). Through completion of the research, the relevant findings can be gathered regarding understanding the impact of inventory on the supply chain and can facilitate in attaining knowledge regarding the ways in which manufacturing companies in Nepal deal with their inventory from cost effective view. The findings of the current research will also facilitate in attaining certain effectible managerial implications regarding cost reduction prices. Moreover, the outcome of the research will also explain that better management of supply chain activates by the manufacturing companies of Nepal can be ensured by the cost reduction process (Taylor, Bogdan & DeVault, 2015).
Research Aim and Objectives
Moreover, the research will explain that this can have an impact on the economies of the manufacturing organizations in Nepal along with its other departments indirectly. The justification of this research is focused on analyzing the optimization of inventory management through which the production manager in manufacturing industry of Nepal can easily coordinate with other departments. The research is conducted in order to identify solutions that can improve supply chain in improving competition and production of manufacturing companies in Nepal.
According to Christopher, (2016) the success of the manufacturing companies is relied on the performance of the supply chain. It has also been gathered from this research that poor supply chain performance majorly contributes to business failure. Considering the same, it is too complex to observe the ways in which the financial health of the organizations relies on supply chin activities. In contrast, Eltantawy et al., (2015) stared that poor supply chan management resulted in demise of the organizations that turned out to be insolvent. Along with designing the supply chain strategy, the part of it that deals with outbound distribution from warehouses is important in failure and success of businesses. In other supply chain management activities employed in organizations there is no predefined structure for shifting materials and products by stages of fulfillment. Hugos, (2018) indicated that efficient supply chain networks develop by a series of discrete changes along with developments and all of them address needs when they take place. Few among them are deemed to be developing a strategically integrated supply chain.
Lewis, (2015) investigated the association among the inventory management policies and the financial performance of the manufacturing companies Nepal. The effect of inventory management is observed on company performance within manufacturing companies of Nepal. In enhancing the inventory levels, margins and lead times the inventory management is observed to have an important role in consumer satisfaction. Mackey & Gass, (2015) presented a view that there are several evidences on inventory management as well as its role in improving supplier partnership and technology. Moreover, the perception of the managers regarding the impact of practices of inventory management on the financial performance of manufacturing companies in Nepal. Monczka et al., (2015) indicated that inventory management is focused on solving certain major issues related to company performance. One of such issue deals with inventory management and in consideration to same, the supply chain acts as a multi-echelon inventory system.

Research Questions
The research will select the quantitative research methodology in which suitable data collection method is selected. This research approach is selected for the reason that it is the most suitable approach in collecting the quantitative data (Wang et al., 2016). Considering such approach, relevant data has been collected from 21 manufacturing companies of Nepal through using proper sampling process. Quantitative research approach must be useful in providing important information on the subject of human inclination that needs bigger sample size for data analysis to attain desired research outcomes.
- Population:Relevant data has been collected from 21 manufacturing companies of Nepal through using proper sampling process.
- Sampling:Simple random sampling will be employed in carrying out research on supply chain impact on inventory and performance management of manufacturing companies in Nepal.
- Variables:The dependent variable is the effective use of supply chain management activities and the independent variables include the inventory management of manufacturing companies and performance management of manufacturing companies (Wisner, Tan & Leong, 2014). The data gathered will be analyzed through employing suitable statistical method such as MS Excel in carrying out correlation and regression analysis.
The first chapter of the research will explain the problem statement of investigating “Supply Chain Management Impact on Inventory Management and Productivity in Nepal”. The second chapter of this research will explain the aim and objectives set in the current investigation. The third chapter will explain the research questions set in this exploration for attaining suitable research outcomes. The fourth chapter will offer justification for selection of the research subject along with elaborating the desired output. The fifth chapter will elaborate the existing literature in the topic and the sixth chapter will explain the research methodology that will be used in the current research. The eight chapters will also explain the project budget and schedule that is decided for the research.
