Discussion
The leadership and the governance are based on the different concepts that encompasses around the strategic directions and on the effective plans and policies. These plans and policies bring oversight on the partnerships, regulations and the motivations. Maintaining such aspects is essential for strengthening the secure edge of the organisation in a competitive ground. The study would focus on the three techniques that are necessary to understand the status of the Walmart organization that will eventually help the organization. The utilization of SWOT, LSSRIM and the PESTLE analysis would be helpful in recognizing the internal and external market influence. The study would be analyzed by depending on several key performance indicators that are effective enough in accomplishing the determined goals.
It has been observed that Walmart Supermarket has ensured the youth development program in United States (Ahmadi,Dileepan & Wheatley, 2016). Walmart, the giant retail supermarket based in the international market. The company offers the idea work experiences for the associated workforce. On the other hand, the affordable price of the retail products and services are much demanding to the potential customers of Walmart. In order to establish both the internal and external market analysis, the use of SWOT and PESTLE would be much helpful for the study. In addition to this, the LSSRIM technique is also helpful in analyzing this sort of development programs.
SWOT analysis is one of the most effective strategic tools that identifies the strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities. In the SWOT analysis the strengths and the weakness refers to the internal factors, which means that the experiences and the resources are readily available to the customers, and is effective for the Youth employment. The external factors that affect the organization are the opportunity and the threats. The major strength of the company is the efficient workforce that is following the policies and regulation of the organisation. The business operations are established all across the country with the limited number of competitors. The company organizes a well-arranged youth employment centers. With the huge number of the grocery, apparel, and home wares is strengthening the dominant position of the company in this competitive market. The product variation is also the positive aspect the retail giant Walmart. The emergence of the supermarket trends has created the significant impact on the customers and influenced the repeat purchasing behaviour (Krishnaswamy, 2017). On the other hand, some of the specific weaknesses are also affecting the business operations of Walmart. The Walmart super market growth for the youth employment has restricted itself to the urban areas only. The organization should spread its branches to different parts of the city so that the employment can be provided to the youth. Establishing the retail stores in the rural areas would be quite difficult for the company due to the huge infrastructure. In order to retain in the field of competition there is a need to cope up with the other big super market brands like the Tesco and other workable setups.
SWOT Analysis
Walmart is always interested in embracing the opportunities in the international market. The company is thus quite effectively concentrating on developing the business in foreign countries like South Africa, Brazil, and Mexico. It can be predicted that in future times, the countries would look forward to more innovations and product differentiation. Therefore, Walmart has the scope for promoting the products and adopting the advanced method of selling the products. It is notable that in spite of the significant opportunities in this competitive market, Walmart has been facing some of the potential threats as well. In case of the threats that can be caused to the youth people of the Walmart group is the scope of the mediator. It is seen that the mediator, in spite of the other constructional law, firms open up their mediation in order to make their services available. There are potential clients who input some negative impression that accuses negative mediation and the mediators resolve their problem by its complete understanding. The increase in the level of the employment of the youth in the Walmart will eventually increase the pay scale and in the health care expenses. The labor expenses for the different corporations an increase that brings different health care charges possible. The ultimate rise in the medical charges brings an outdo inflation and a pay rise.
The above discussion of SWOT suggested the internal market strength of the company. Similarly, it is also necessary to identify the external market influence as well. The remote environment or the macro environment involves various key factors that are related to the success towards the employment of the youth in the Walmart organisation in US. The Walmart is a huge industrial retailer that withstands various negative threats from the different aspects. PESTLE strategic tool would define the impact of political, economical, social, technological, and ecological and the legal aspects on the business that is required to be overcome. The political factors are mainly involving the interference of the governmental policies. The different types of governmental policies are affecting the business operations. The continuous pressure from the political sources is the major threat for the company to establish the business process or extending the product or service variations. However, it is important to mention that the involvement of the politicians can broaden the scope of employing youth group. There is the possibility of growth in youth employment aspect.
The sudden changes in currency are significantly influencing the negative consequences in generating revenues for the organisation that is affecting the economic factors. Some of the external macro environment elements are related to stability of the economy. There are various opportunities related to the WalMart organisation. One is the rapid growth of the developing countries as well as the decreasing opportunity of the unemployment people in the US. Lately, the YEDPA have arranged a program where there is a rapid scope for employment opportunity. On the other hand, the social factor indicates the perceptions and preferences of the consumers. Especially, in terms of developing trends, urban migration, lifestyle, and cultural diversity, the social factors are needed to be taken into consideration. With the increase in the employment services, there is a huge range of scope for the rapid growth of the social life of the organisation. Accordingly, the technological influence is also quite a major concern for the business sustainability. The enormous competitive environment of the retail industry signifies the potential challenges for the business. There is a need to address the affects of the competitiveness of the retail industries. Some of the external factors by which the macro and the micro are operated are through the business automation, creating an opportunity for the business analytics and increasing an opportunity for the mobile users. Online marketing and the sale of the different revenues help in the technological factors of the Walmart (McAlister, Marcos & Ferrell, 2016).
PESTLE Analysis
Environmental aspect is considered one of the significant business factors that help in improving the business with the help of the technology. Even though the rapid use of the technology has made an effect to the environment, but now slowly it is finding new ways for its improvement and using more of the manual labor so that the environment is not damaged (Burrell, 2017). Both the external and the internal factors are based on the rules and regulations of the Walmart and a complete analysis of the model that is based on the external factors related to the food safety regulations and various tax reforms. Walmart follows all the specific rules and there is no scope for not following the laws.
The Lean Six Sigma Rapid Improvement Method (LSSRIM) analyses specifically the improvement of the business environment. The different components are customer driven strategic goals, leadership engagement, infrastructure deployment, team oriented business strategy. It depends on the importance of the critical the critical to the success of the engagement and the management buy that is of customer centric (Auffret, 2017). The value based principles are much preferable for the business growth. The activity is considered as a potential way to recognize a clear capacity of identified visions that are required for the better development and scope for the youth employment in the Walmart.
There are two types of indicator factors namely the financial and the non-financial. There are two types of indicator factors namely the financial and the non-financial. The gross profit margin is essential as it marks whether the price of the goods and the services are appropriate or not. The gross profit will help the youth to cover up fixed operating expenses and it leaves a profit at the end of the day
Gross profit= (revenue – cost of goods sold)/ revenue
On the other hand, the net profit will also increase if there is enough employment of the youth that means that the cash amount that have been left over helps in the payment of the bills. At the end, the high will be the net profit there will be expenses for the salary and the rent that might increase. The finance is considered smooth in various off seasons (Sotarauta, 2016). The net profit of the revenue is earned and on its basis, the salary of the youth is determined. The equation for it is simple that is if the net profit margin is high, there are chances for the metric to help in the profit margin of the project and the goals are considered the bench marks for the profits (Smith & Yip, 2016).
LSSRIM
The non financial key indicators are the production and the manufacturing functions, sales and the marketing, research and development (Müller, 2017). The production processes includes the different indicators that is required to be derived from the motion studies and various line efficiency factors in the production. There is requirement for young youths in case of the manual labor health in the production process. In order to develop the production process there is a need of manual labor and hence employment is required. In case of the sales and the marketing, there is also a need for the young labor and hence employment grounds are found. Sales and marketing is a huge scope for the employment of the young people, they can run around from door to door, and there is a huge vacancy for this type of employment. The delivery boys are also considered one of them. For research work there is a dire need of young enthusiasts who are willing to research on a specific topic and to develop more on this topic that will help them in their long run (Spil, Kijl & Salmela, 2016). Hence, no research work can be done without the help of the researchers hence employment of the youth is required.
Conclusion
From the above report, it can be concluded that leadership and the governance is important in managing the youth employment. The three theories have been elaborately explained that includes the SWOT, PESTLE and the LSSRIM. At the end the different the key indicator financial and the non financial sectors have been discussed.
