The Importance of Knowledge on OB Theories and Concepts
I performed a task with my different team members wherein there were different challenges along with advantages when I was working with the group. The different group members of my entire team were supportive in nature while the entire task was conducted. However, I felt there were different group members in the team who were not aware about the different concepts related to Organizational Behavior. The concepts related to attitudes, they did not know personality, and I had to make them understand, as these were essential to be known by them while explaining the topic to the audiences.
Different Models of Organizational Behavior
There were different parts that had been divided by us within the different group members. The big five model of personality was not known to the team members, however there is huge importance of the concept in making the audiences understand the different factors responsible for the success or decline in the success of the entire organization (Allan & Driscoll, 2014). Furthermore, there was respect among the different team members and this helped us in completing the entire task within the specified deadline.
My entire team faced few difficulties while performing the task related to organizational behavior that included no proper knowledge about the organizational behavior theories. I made few amendments that were required to be adopted, as this helped me in finishing the entire work within the specified deadline. I made sub groups of the team members that included two members each and I prepared different theories and concepts in such a manner that this helped the entire team in gaining knowledge relating to the theories that are essential to be known by the members. There were different other challenges that included the performance of the task was relating to the sincerity of the few members of the team. They were not having knowledge relating to the theories and concepts and they were not paying attention to the training that has been provided to them as well.
Advantages of working in-group
However, on the other hand there were different advantages that were received from the different team members who were sincere in nature and had knowledge on the theories that are essential in nature, as this has to b discussed while presenting in front of the audiences. I felt they were serious in nature while working in the group and they conducted group discussions as this helped us in gaining knowledge on the topics that had to be covered in the presentation relating to the organizational behavior. All the team members were regularly present and focused in their approach as I created separate teams that helped us in becoming aware about the topics that had to be covered.
Decision Making and Leadership Approach
The decision-making and the leadership approach had helped us in positively affecting the performance of the team. The focus of the group members helped us in completing and finishing the task on time and this helped us in achieving the goals of the task that were performed by us. Later, after I had sub groups between members and created a group for two, it helped us in analyzing that the goals of the group have been achieved by the entire team with full of energy and dedication as well.
Application of OB Theories in the Group Task
I created different notes on the different approaches, concepts and theories of leadership with different examples. The notes prepared by us in an easy manner that it helped us in understanding the concept and explaining in our own words. As there were different theories in Organizational Behavior such as Job Fit Theory along with Attribution theory that helped us in understanding the theories in such a manner that this helped us in completing the entire task with no such issues. The attribution theory helps in analyzing the different behavior of the individuals as this helps in maximizing the outcomes in an effective manner. The motivation theories have been helpful in making my team mates understand about the hierarchy of needs.
The effect of the assignment 2 has helped our entire team confidence of working in groups. The teamwork concept has helped us in understanding the importance of groups and helped us in performing the tasks in groups as well. The different concepts and theories related to OB helped us in understanding the efforts of the team and helped in completing the entire task within the given and specified deadline.
From the entire assignment that has been completed by us relating o the Organizational Behavior theories and concepts, it helped us in learning the time management and to achieve the group goals. We understood the spirit that is required in the team to finish the task successfully with proper implementation of different strategies along with gaining the positive outcome with the equality and cooperative nature of each team members.
Different strategies to manage practice in-group assignments
There are different strategies that can be implemented by us in order to manage our own practice of working in groups. The strategies are as follows:
1) Proper building of trust as well as respect among the different members in the team as this will help in gaining mutual trust as well as respect between the teammates. I feel there should be proper trust and faith among the team members as this can help in completing the task within accurate deadline.
The trust and faith helps in guiding the different individuals in the right direction, there should be encouragement of the socializing of the different team members as this increases the personal level of trust, respect and understanding. I feel proper corporation is essential and necessary for encouraging the different team members and this adds to improvement of the conversation between the superiors as well as peers.
2) There has to be clear outlining of the different responsibilities and roles as this will help in limiting confusion on delegating as well as organizing the tasks between the different members. The proper organizing of the different roles has to be analyzed, as this will help the different employees in concentrating on the different tasks that will be performed by them in an effective manner with different usage of guidelines.
Proper mediation of the conflict in a quick and efficient manner as there can be different conflicts in the team while working on a specific task. I feel there should be proper usage of different practices as well as expectations that are required to handle the situations in a quick manner to maintain good working environment
3) The team leader requires allowing different team members in taking active participation in the decision making of the different activities that will be performed by them. The decision-making capabilities are required to be provided to the different team members in such a manner that this will help in completing the task within the specified deadline.
I feel that these kind of different strategies that can be applied by our team in the future, as this will help in balancing the different tasks in an effective manner. These strategies will help in creating space between the entire team and this helps in making the team more effective in nature. The frequent feedback is essential and necessary in nature, as this will help in completing the different tasks in such a manner that it will be successful in nature. The team traditions can be started as this will help the entire team in successfully completing the task within deadline and this will help the team members to be aware about the different issues. The team members can solve such issues with implementation of different strategies in an effective manner.
