- The Future Surveys
- a) In a real sense, the whole population of the employees should be surveyed; however, due to some limitations and restrictions such as time and cost, it would be difficult to carry out a study in the whole survey. Because of this, we are then forced to select a sample of the population to take part in the investigation. This sample thus represents the whole community and any results obtained after the analysis is unquestionably inferred to the total population. Also, getting an ideal size of the sample is difficult as there exist many factors to consider before the selection of a sample size for the survey.
A sample size that is relatively too big may lead to wastage of time and resource in the survey while relatively small smaller sample size may lead to biasness in the final results of the study. A real sample size determination takes into account such factors as the risk of the errors that may be encountered during the survey process and also during the time of data analysis and thus makes the researcher to be much more confident about the accuracy of his or her findings and results. It the risk cannot be taken into consideration, then the size of the sample must be increased to enable us to obtain more valuable results and findings.
The risk also accounts for the degree to which the responses may vary across the participants in the survey and this case, the employees at TechnoMart. If we get a smaller variation with a smaller size of the sample, then there would be no reason for taking a relatively bigger sample size for the survey. Smaller sample size would also account for a degree to which the responses from the participants may vary with the final results of the study. The costs incurred from the survey would also more be much more from the financial perspective. Hence, different sample sizes would exist when to take different combinations of these factors and parameters. The best sample size can is identified by choosing the parameter rate among the given highest factors and then applying it to the survey.
b). For the comprehensive and detailed analysis of any given case under consideration about a given problem in the company, the number of observations recorded should be relatively large. This is because big sample sizes from the survey provide a better analysis that can prevent any possible bias and leads to better results which in turn would lead to better references by one. This also enables one to find and explain the difference that exists between the results sufficiently for the concern. For instance, there only 26 workers who were more than 60.0 hours per week which in this case, is an insufficient estimator of the whole problem under consideration. A larger sample of relatively 260 employees would yield better results for judgments and references.
