Diagnostics Tools for Effective Communication
Discuss about the Nonverbal Behavior and Communication System.
The communication skill helps the people to develop suitable and effective communication within the organization (Moran, Abramson, & Moran, 2014). There is five diagnostic tool that helps to analyze the communication skill of the person. The paper provides the view on the diagnostics tools and the score that is being received within this tool to provide the suitable and effective communication process in the field. The paper also discusses the various process that is being utilized within the field to maintain their activity in the field. The paper also contains suitable and effective action plan that is being developed to maintain the communication skill improvement within the working phase of the people in the field. The paper also highlights various communication issues that are faced by the researcher after analysis of the diagnostic tool.
The diagnostics tools are the effective operational function that help to measures the effective communication process. The diagnostics tools that is being utilized in this process is the self-perceived communication competence scale that is (SPCC) (Bonaccio, O’Reilly, O’Sullivan, & Chiocchio, 2016). This eventually help me to understand my communication competencies skill according to the various facts. I have a very good skill while talking with the friends especially when the talk is in the small group. In this I am having 100 scores while talking with the strangers I am not that much suitable and for this it scores only 50. The score that I have got from this SPCC process it helps me to understand that my scores for the various communication process is different. It can be seen that for public my score is 73 which is a moderate score and for the meeting it is 56.6 which is also a moderate score. In the group communication process the score is 76.6 as well as in the dyad it is 86.6 and communication with the stranger is 55 all are moderate scores. Then I have also got the moderate score in acquaintance that is 72.5 and the friends that is 85 and in total it is 70.83. It can be clearly seen from the SPCC scale that my communication competence is the basic communication context is 97.6 and the receivers is 70.83 which is quite high. Therefore, I can eventually say that my communication skill is quite effective in the field.
Impact of Nonverbal Behavior on Communication
The next diagnostic tool is the non-verbal Immediacy Scale self-Report (NIS-S). This diagnostics tool help to understand the feeling towards the other people (Lemonnier, 2016). This helps me to understand some of the things that I never use to do for presenting my positive feeling towards other. I use to touch other people on their arm or shoulder while talking and also I do not use the dull voice for communication and I prefer to talk by keeping eye contact with the person. I never frown to people and also I do not have the tensed body position and there are many more. The total score in this system is 78 while the score for the various steps that are included in step 1 is 37 and that in step 2 is 29. The entire score of this diagnostic tool is 86 which indicates that it is slightly above the below line. The next diagnostic tool is the Personal Report of Intercultural Communication Apprehension that is PRICA (Hargie, 2016). In this tool, the step 1 represent that I am generally a calm person and also I feel relaxed while conversing with other people and I have confidence in me for facing the people of different culture. The entire score of this process presents the view that I am having the score of 27 which is low for the intercultural aspects. This clearly shows that I do not have the suitable skill for the interpersonal activity in the field and this reflects on the various part of my task to present their view in the field.
The next diagnostic tool is the Talkaholic Scale is the measurement of the compulsive communication. It shows that some of the people are quite talkative while some are not (Tracy, Randles, & Steckler, 2015). This tool helps me to understand the talking skill that I have. Personally, I am not a Talkaholic person and do not like to talk much if there is no need. In this tool, my total score is 20 which perfectly show that I am not a talkative person. I generally talk and communicate with the people when there is a need for the term and this effectively help me to maintain my dignity and my position within the business class. The next diagnostic tool that is being utilized for understanding the communication that I have is the Tolerance for Disagreement. This scale helps to measures the tolerance of the people within the organization or in the field that up to which level they have the possibility to tolerate things (Hall, Covarrubias, & Kirschbaum, 2017). This tool helps me to analyze my level of tolerance and personally, I think that I have suitable tolerance in me but this tool helps me to figure out the real factors. The score that is have got from this process is 38 which indicates that my perception regarding the tolerance level is accurate. I am having a moderate tolerance level which helps me to maintain any kind of situation and provide the suitable solution.
Issues and Improvements for Effective Communication
All this tool is quite effective for understand the issues and the communication benefits that I have to gather effective information from the field. From this tool I can effectively provides the view that there are some of the issues which I need to overcome or change for the better communication skill within the market. The two key communication issue that I need to develop is intercultural communication along with the non-verbal communication process. These are two things that I need to develop to improve my skill in the better way. Both the skill is effective for working in the organization as this help to develop strong communication bond among the people. My intercultural skill is quite low and for that I need to effectively work on this part to develop my skill and improve the working function. Furthermore, rectifying these two issues will eventually help me to develop my working skill and also the communication process within the firm. These two are the vital issues that I need to overcome to develop the skill and the working function that I have to present in the market. With the development of the personal communication skill I can effectively provide suitable working function within the market and this would develop to maintain their working function. The effective working function help to maintain their working function within the business to provide suitable and effective communication skill (Ladegaard, & Jenks, 2015). My working skill and the communication skill directly depend on the operational function for the business to maintain their job in the field. This issues need to be rectified so that I could be able to maintained the effective business communication within the process.
Reflecting on the intercultural communication issue I would like to provide the suitable example that happens to me almost 7 months ago while I was working in a car manufacturing company as the marketing manager. My task is to communicate effectively with various kind of people from various culture and there I figure out that I was having some issue while communicating with the clients. A situation occurs where a client from another culture cam to deal with a car and I was unable to deliver the correct approach to the client. This generally does not happen to me as I do not feel nervous but I have seen that while conversing in the intercultural group I get carried away. This is the general facts that I am having this issue while working as the marketing manager and making the things appropriate to the people became quite difficult for me. At that time I really got nervous about dealing with the people from different culture and this provides the view that I need to develop my interpersonal skill for the betterment of the business communication process. In this process, I have effectively joined the group that provides help to communicate with the people of other culture. It is not a difficult task but for me, it became quite complex when I have to get to do by this process. I have developed a various skill that has the suitability for the firm to maintain their activity within the field to perform their business.
Examples of Communication Issues and Solutions
The second example is regarding the non-verbal communication where I have to deal with the client and the employees of the firm. This is one of my very bad habits to use hand or touch the hand and the arm of the people while conversing with them. This is good for the communication with friends but the for the business communication this is not effective. Once while communicating with the client I have touched his shoulder that is quite an inappropriate task to perform. This is the primary fact that when I seriously came to know that this is the phase where I have to develop my skill and my activity for analyzing the working process within the field. At this stage, I came to analyze that I need to develop my skill for non-verbal communication for understanding the working process of the firm and to develop various skill within the market. I need to develop this skill for the betterment of the firm and this help me to understand that effective business communication is essential for the process. While working in the firm I have gathered suitable know regarding my working skill and to develop my skill for understanding the communication level of non-verbal.
Among the five diagnostic tool the Intercultural skill along with the non-verbal communication skill is the issues that are faced by me. The intercultural communication apprehension defines the activity that is generally the fear or the anxiety that is associated with the interacting of the people for different cultures or the ethnicity among the working function of the field. According to Ma, & Hample, (2018), the intercultural communication is the process where the people need to effectively communicate within the process. This help to maintain communicate within the working process of the firm. The intercultural communication is the process that helps to maintain the interlevel of the business communication within the field. As per Dong, (2018), the companies which recruit employees from the different country need to improve the professional activity within the field. The organization eventually get various challenges that communication with the intercultural skill is providing effective communication for the field (Martin, & Nakayama, 2015). It can be seen that the difference within the cultural root creates various issues in the professional field. In the words of De La Garza, & Ono, (2015), it can be seen that communicative business is definitely communicate in the field to maintain their working function. The intercultural communication process is effective for the firm to maintain their activity and for this it needs to be improved within the working function of the field. The communication process in this help the firm as well as the employees to develop suitable and effective communication process which further help them to maintain the working function within the field.
It can be seen from the view of Matveev, & Del Villar, (2017), that there is various communication tool which is effective for the intercultural communication within the field. The most commonly used tool for maintaining the intercultural communication level within the organization is the cross-cultural adaptability than the intercultural candidate evaluation and so on. These tools effectively help the people to maintain their working function within the field and provide a suitable view for the firm to maintain their function. These tools are quite effective for the firm to maintain their intercultural communication process to develop the suitable and effective operational function within the market. According to Abayadeera, Mihret, & Hewa Dulige, (2018), the intercultural communication creates a huge impact on the working function of the firm to maintain their activity in the working process. The reduction theory provides the view that the person will try to minimize the initial communication with the strangers. In the words of Soliz, & Phillips, (2018), it can be seen that the intercultural communication is central to the effectiveness of the communication process within the organization. The skill also needs to be developed for providing the effective working function of the firm to maintain their activity within the field (Samovar, Porter, McDaniel, & Roy, 2014). Furthermore, it can be seen that the high level of the fear, as well as the anxiety within the people, lead to the avoidance of the communication within the working function. According to Petry, (2016), the communication is the process to maintain their activity within the field to maintain their working function and the delivery system in the field.
In the words of Mehrabian, (2017), it can be seen that the non-verbal immediacy behaviors are basically more effective to provide the suitable communication level for the firm. It can be seen that the nonverbal communication is generally performed with the help of the interrelated nonverbal cues that is the eye contact, then the closer distance, along with the smiling as well as the verbal tone within the company. According to Burgoon, Guerrero, & Floyd, (2016), the nonverbal communication is the most effective process for the employees to maintain their working function and to develop the skill in the general view of the firm. It is the effective process for the creation of closeness among the people to deliver their facts and the working function within the field. As per Eaves, & Leathers, (2017), nonverbal communication is the effective process which helps the firm to maintain their activity in the field to provide the personal and the suitable working function within the firm. It can be seen from the view Siegman, & Feldstein, (2014), that the nonverbal communication is the general term that is being used to describe the nature as well as the behavior that is being used to signal the positive feeling towards another person. It is clear that nonverbal communication is the most effective and the suitable process for the firm to develop their business in the world and to understand the working function in the field. This is the general process for the firm to maintain their communication activity within the field which helps to develop the communication process.
As per Neill, (2017), the nonverbal communication within the employees is being considered in three complementary ways that provide suitable and effective working function within the field. This is the general process where the employees and the managers of the firm eventually communicate to share their views and their working function with the other people in the firm with the help of nonverbal but positive attitudes. According to Remland, (2016), the immediacy behavior is the primary approach that helps to communicate with the special attentiveness. In this, the communication of the social accessibility can be effectively understood within the process to provide suitable and valuable working function for the firm. In the words of Segerstrale, & Molnár, (2018), it can be seen that the nonverbal immediacy helps to increase the overall sensory stimulation within the people for the development of effective communication level in the field. Employees within the firm with suitable nonverbal communication process can provide the suitable working function that helps to develop the various actors in the field and to maintain the working process of the firm. According to Franchini et al., (2018), nonverbal behavior helps the employees to make a strong bond but in the positive and effective working atmosphere. It can be seen that if the employee did not have a strong connection then the process of nonverbal communication might create a huge problem for the firm to provide their activity within the field and to develop their working function in the market. The communication process is quite effective which allow the function to maintain their activity and provide the suitable communication to the process.
