Project objective
Disucuss about the Business research on Substance abuse and Health.
It has been seen that people have founded ways to alter their bodies as well as their consciousness which is possible by taking certain substances which are herbs, alcohol and the drugs. There have also been contributions to the science and culture. There have been certain people who have not been able to restrict the utilization of mind and body in order to ensure the culturally said limits. This has been responsible for the trap of addiction. This causes severe health impacts on the mind and body. This impacts the relationships of the people with their family members. The idea of substance abuse is basically used to imply the use of alcohol, drugs and other substances which are harmful, inappropriately. The addiction reaches such a level that the people cannot control themselves from taking such drugs. The addiction in certain cases becomes so severe that it is not possible for the people to carry on with their lives in a normal manner. In severe cases it is often seen that people experience the need to kill themselves.
The major objective of the project is to identify the impact of the substance use in the aspect of health. There are several problems of drug abuse, which include the myriad repercussions to that of substance addictions. There are several reasons which have been seen to impact the use of drugs. The impact of the drug abuse is very severe and this has several problems in different aspects of the people of a society. These include the detrimental effects to the work of a person for the purpose of work or that of employment. It also includes the problems for family and social issues, there are serious legal troubles, short and long term issues, mental and behavioural issues which are related to the concept of health-care.
The project is based on the issue of health that is the issue of substance abuse. This issue and information about the issue can be suitably accessed from the different centres providing health care. The findings need to be analysed with respect to the information collected from different health care centres. This information is crucial to analyse whether the issue of substance abuse has a significant impact on the health of individuals. Health centres provide information about the treatment places for the people who are intoxicated and victims of abuse. Initially the people from whom advice is required are the nurses and the permission can sometimes be taken from the medical centres and the doctors of the centres.
Project Scope
There are several social and ethical issues which surround the use as well as the abuse of drugs. There are issues which are made to be complex specifically due to the conflicting values which concern the usage of drugs which are within the modern societies. There is the possibility for the values to be influenced by multiple factors which include those of social religious as well as personal views. The drug abuse has occupied a noteworthy place in the public consciousness. The level of awareness of the drugs and the way in which the individuals and societies can overcome the problems which are related to the drugs are to be understood. It has been researched that there are several aspects which are helpful in triggering drug and substance abuse (Abuse, 2012).
The modernised and industrialized societies are not neutral with respect to the voluntary non-medical use of drugs. The contemporary issues in case of health have a severe impact on the health related issues in individuals. There are certain phenomena which characterize addiction which are those of craving, intoxication and negative withdrawal effect. There are certain dominant effects of impulsivity and positive reinforcement in the initial stages which is actually the motivation for the seeking of drugs and the compulsivity and negative reinforcement dominate the final stages of the cycle of addition. There have been several researches which have been conducted in order to understand the impact of different factors leading to addiction on the health of the individuals.
There are both genetic and environmental variables which contribute to the initiation of the use of additive agents and to the transitions from use to the addiction. It is seen that when an individual is addicted the clinical options are untargeted. It has been seen that the genes which make up the human genome are helpful in providing the information which provides the basic cellular activities of the body of a person. The genetic aspects of a human body govern the decisions which are taken by him or her for different work purposes (Wise & Koob, 2014).
There are certain gaps in the literature which has been researched with respect to the topic of substance abuse with respect to the issue of healthcare. The major gaps which need to be addressed are the actual mental considerations at the time of getting into addiction of any sort. This is because the mental state of the people who are addicted need to be studied in order to analyse the health of the respondents and the direction of their thoughts governing such issues.
Literature review
The primary and most significant research question in this particular section is the way in which substance abuse is a contemporary issue in the health case. This is the primary research question which is to be analysed and studied in this particular research. The primary research question is connected to a number of research questions which are secondary in nature.
The secondary questions are related to the primary questions and can be stated as,
The establishment of various forms in which the drugs and other substances are utilized.
The explanation of the causes of drug and substance abuse
The exploration of the impact of the substance abuse on the ideas of health care
The strategies to be discussed for the adoption of curbing substance abuse
The study of contradiction of policies related to drug abuse for the purpose of health care
These questions need to be analysed on the basis of the chosen topic.
Research design:
Research design is basically a master plan of framework which helps in guidance of the framework of a specific research. There are different conditions which need to be identified in connection to the research design and objectives. There are three major types of the research design which are considered at the time of the framing of methodology for the research under methodology (Lewis, 2015). The explanatory design of research deals with the recognition of several types of occurrences of incidents. The exploratory design of research deals with the events which are occurring in a manner which is in-depth. The exploratory research assists in the understanding of the research issues in a deep manner and there is a relevant discussion regarding the relevant problems. Descriptive research helps in the enhancement of knowledge based on concerned study. This particular research is exploratory in nature. It also aims to understand the opinions of the providers of health care relating to issues of addiction and also relate to the initiations of the problems which crop up in the lives of the addicts.
Research Type:
The type of research which has to be employed in this specific case is descriptive by nature. This is because of the reason that the problems can be solved by means of observation, analysis as well as description of the basic situation.
Research Approach
There are three major types of research approaches which are deductive, inductive and abductive approach of research. In the first type there is the formulation of a set of hypothesis which needs to be accepted or rejected based on deduction. In inductive research there are research aims and objectives to be achieved at the time of research procedure there is not any hypothesis formulation. In abductive approach the process of research there is the designated to the explanation of incomplete observations. In this study the research approach used is that of deductive approach.
Gaps in Literature
Sample Techniques:
There are different types of sampling techniques which include that of non-probability sampling, simple random sampling, systematic sampling, stratified sampling, cluster sampling, quota sampling and mini-max sampling among others. In this particular research study the type of sampling technique which is to be used is that of simple random sampling (Silverman, 2016).
Sample Size:
The sample size which can be suitable for this particular research can be 100. This sample size is helpful in getting the opinions of the respondents regarding their addictions. An age group of 16-80 years can be targeted based on their age subdivisions.
Primary data collection:
The primary data can be collected by means of a questionnaire which needs to be provided to the respondents of a survey and also by interview method of data collection. The interview method helps in the overall understanding of the health care professionals and doctors of the health care centres dealing with the ideas of substance abuse (Maxwell, 2012).
Reliability and validity of the data:
The data reliability are to be ensured at all times and the authenticity of the data are to be checked before they are utilized for the purpose of suitable analysis. In addition to this the genuineness of the information which is collected from the respondents are also to be analysed by proper discussion at the beginning of the interview.
Qualitative data:
From the results of the questionnaire surveys which are provided to the respondents who are either addicted to drugs or alcohol, the answers are to be analysed in a thematic sense by means of proper understanding as per their responses. This helps in the overall analysis of the types of reactions and the responses which have been obtained from the survey (Brannen, 2017).
The limitations of quantitative research are existent. The quantitative method of research generally requires a very large size of sample. There might be situations where the respondents might not be available to give relevant resources for the collection of data. The time frame as well as the mindset of the respondents needs to be justifiable for the suitable responses to be collected for the purpose of the survey. The mindsets of the people who are addicted cannot be relied on as they mind give any sort of incoherent and unreliable statements based on the condition they are in.

Conclusion:
Substance abuse, drug indulgence and alcoholism can be regarded to be diseases which manifest itself by means of social, medical, legal and family consequences. There are severe hard times for the alcoholics, this is because of their prolonged cravings for the substance, fear of functioning without alcohol and doubts regarding their ability of sustaining pain. The substance abuse and substance dependence is a very complex disorder which is affected by the biological mechanisms impacting the brain and also its capacity to control the use of drugs and other negative substances. It is desirable that such issues be addressed by the government as well as national and international scientific and policy communities. Preferably the problem of drug use and addiction needs to be nipped in the bud that is it needs to be prevented at the very beginning.
