Background
Background information
The research subject is “to analyze the impact of digital scent technology on alteration of people emotions: in context of XYZ company, UK. In the existing situation, it is essential for corporations to get positive feedback from users on their web page to meet the competitive benefits (Wang, et al., 2014). Additionally, it is also important to make continued growth in business within the global marketplace. Therefore, it is significant for corporations to increase the uses of digital scent technology whereby they can make an alteration in people’s emotion. As a result, users will update positive feedbacks on the pages of XYZ Company. For this study, digital scent technology practices play a significant role to change the emotion of people and make a positive comment from them. Therefore, most of the organizations use modern digital scent technology to help the workforce and improve their abilities to offer profits to the firms (Bennett, et al., 2017).

The literature review chapter is helpful for the researchers to create a depth understanding of the research subject through investigating of current literature in an appropriate manner. At the same time, an efficient literature review involves data evaluation of many articles, books, and journals, which is supportive to make an effective literature. Additionally, it also helps to create a conceptual understating towards the research problem. It also demonstrates the different aspects of digital scent technology (Neuman, et al., 2014). Moreover, it also identifies the impact of digital scent technology on the business performance. This part also discovers the strategies to decline the challenges faced by the users in implementing the digital scent technology (Panneerselvam, 2014).
Datta et al. (2016) stated that the digital scent technology enabled the users to digitally sense, reproduce, transmit, smells, fragrances, and recapture by using the internet. At the same time, it is also stated that the burning of smell tries in competing games, have the fragrance of perfume online, and transfer the scented e-cards through scent web. It supports to develop character and provide an open intelligence of realism. It is also examined that digital scent technology transfers its broad section of implementations in scent-entertainment, music, games, and movies to successfully communicate with users. At the same time, it incorporates the web that is enhanced with scent (Spence, 2015).
On the other hand, Efe (2017) defined that digital scent technology (DST) is a significant component of the business performance. Effective DST supports the firms to improve their performance by completing the specific objectives within the corporates.
Objective
At the same time, it is also stated that the implementation of such technology helps to obtain a base for the organization in determining the additional opportunity within the marketplace, which directs to obtaining a competitive advantage. From this, the organization also enabled the users to manage their resources and practical acts. It is also associated with the E-commerce that will create the online shopping and fun. It is stated that in future users will not only able to see the information but also able to smell things from the application of internet (Ranasinghe, et al., 2014).
According to the Ferrari et al., (2013), digital scent technology has a positive impact on alteration of people emotions because it has distinct features as compared to other technology. Furthermore, it is analyzed that e-nose is a compact device hence it is portable which create added value for the users. As a result, it has a favorable impact on the emotion of people. Along with this, digital scent technology identifies the simple molecules that cannot be attained by the human nose. In contrast to this, Relles et al. (2013) stated that digital scent technology has a negative impact on the people’s emotion because it takes time and more expensive more users. In this way, it is assessed that cost of e-nose range from $5000 to $100,000 which is the very high amount for the company.
To address the issues faced by users while using the digital scent technology
As per the view of Whiteford (2013), the main issues of digital scent technology is lack of appropriate smell through the internet. Because digital scent technology does not work appropriately in case users are suffering from health illness. It is also stated that the scent is perceived by different sensory cells that mainly exist in a cavity through e-nose. At the same time, the memo is activated to the mind and then these cells discover the smell of scent. Therefore, it is difficult to the users to make a clear picture regarding the smell of scent in the user’s mind (Taylor, et al., 2015).
To recommend the strategy to get the positive feedback of users by using the digital scent technology in web page: in context of XYZ company
Flick, (2015) explained that company can use the click-and-sniff Web pages through different kinds of methods to get the positive feedback from users on the page of the company. Additionally, it is also stated that an organization should interact more with the users by using e-mail, direct communication, and social media to know the idea and perception of users regarding the implementation of digital scent technology. It will help to get the positive feedback from users on the web page of XYZ Company. At the same time, it is also stated that direct communication with users can support to accomplish the reliable and valid data, which can enable the company to get a favorable comment on the page (Singham, et al., 2015).
Ethical Issues and Considerations
A researcher will use interpretivism philosophy because it is supportive to develop a depth understanding regarding the research problems. It is vital for the researchers due to offering the efficient technique to get accurate outcome about the research question and accomplish the research objectives effectively. It permitted the researchers to execute the belief of people for obtaining the positive outcomes.
A researcher will use an inductive approach than the deductive approach to complete the research because, the inductive approach helps the researchers to categorize the relationship amid the digital scent technology practices and alteration of people’s emotion (González-Castolo, et al., 2016). At the same time, a researcher would be able to generate theory, which cannot be possible through the deductive approach.
For this research study, both data collection method will be used by the researchers such as primary and secondary. The primary data collection method will be used to collect the fresh information regarding research topic (Tebeau, 2013). But the secondary data will be used to collect the theoretical understanding of the research issues. The Primary data will be collected by using survey through questionnaire method. But the secondary data will be collected from journals, books, newspapers, and magazines to create the depth understating about the research issues in a significant manner (Gosain, et al., 2014).
The researcher will use mixed research method such as qualitative and quantitative to collect the data in an effective manner. The mixed research method is significant to obtain the advantages of both method qualitative and quantitative and supports to decline the drawbacks of research methods effectively. From this research method, researchers would be able to collect the participant’s views and opinion regarding the research subject. At the same time, the qualitative method will be used to create a conceptual understanding regarding the research issues significantly. Additionally, a researcher will also use quantitative research method to convene the statistical work to obtain an appropriate data for accomplishing the research problem effectively (Green, et al., 2013).
A researcher will use probability sampling method by using the random sampling method than the non-probability method. Since the probability sampling method will allow the researcher to randomly select the participants and also declines the biases from the selection of respondents for the survey. Additionally, this research will be conducted via using the survey through a questionnaire where 50 users will be selected by the researcher as sample size who use the social media in New Zealand (Hafner, 2014).
Literature Review
These users will be selected on the basis of the demographic segment, which enabled the research scholar in order to collect the appropriate and liable data information of research subject. In addition to this, it can be said that a researcher can improve the validity and reliability of study by using the selected samples. At the same time, the selected samples can also support to accomplish the aim and objectives of research effectively (Herbst, et al., 2016).
