The analysis of the available weaknesses and threats which can be posed on the current status of the system will be the best starts to identify the nature of the strategy needed to come up in order to be able to cover all these weaknesses. The available weaknesses in short can be covered by proper planning of Jon on the kind of strategic system he need to develop for the company. Since the aim of the new information system strategy is to cover the weaknesses available and those which are likely to develop as the company grows wider, the planning in accordance with the available weaknesses will be the ideal place for Jon to start. This planning will then lead to Jon thinking outward later on other risks which the company may face to come up with the proper strategy.
Pros
The Consolidate Existing Systems means that Jon will not come up with a new strategy but only modify the available one to suit the different needs of their company. This strategy will be able to attract the following advantages.
- There will be operational benefit – Since the system will be likely to continue will the current system, the operations of the company will continue as normal since nothing incompatible will be added. The CTO and CIO will mostly agree to the new system and therefore not be able to interfere with the operations.
- The increased tactical benefit – The tactical team will have an easy time in the operation of the new strategy since it will not be new to them. This will be able to enhance the tactical operations for the company and therefore a pro to them.
- An increase on the strategic benefit for the company – through the consolidation of the existing system, the company will not have any need to change their long term strategic vision. This will enhance the long term goals for the company.
Cons
Nevertheless, the Consolidation to the existing systems has its own cons, which may be achieved. The following are some of the disadvantages.
- Potential security vulnerability – since the system is now new, the hacking and other security threats may be highly experienced during the operational of the strategy.
- In the consolidation of the system, a compatible system will be needed will may lead to a long search and therefore lead to cost ineffectiveness. This will add the costs of operations and therefore turn out to be uneconomical.
- An increase of the storage management overhead will be experienced. Since the current system was design to specific maximum storage management, the addition and consolidation will lead to a need to have more storage management.
Pros
The development of a new system from the strategy will mean that Jon has to come up with a new idea considering the available threats. The following are some of the advantages which he will gain by developing the new system.
- Less prone to security threats, since the system is new, few people will be able to trace its design and therefore unable to interfere with it.
- Able to address the measures of the security effectively, because the design will be able to focus on the specific needs which has been identified.
- The design will lead to fewer up front costs since the design is specific to meet the requirements.
Cons
Nevertheless, the design of the new system will have some cons.
- The design may turn out to be more expensive especially when it has to meet a lot of new business needs. This will be in terms of the financial costs and time management needed to address all the issues.
- Lack of strategic compatibility may lead to the change of the goals for the company due to the new system.
- Tactical inefficiency in the team may become a challenge to the new system and therefore affect the operation.
Types of systems
The heart of any business is achieved through the new IMS systems which are available and the way the support each other. For Altitude Online, the need to have the computers to run the different activities is key part of the hardware needed. This part of the hardware will enhance the operational efficiency for the company to meet the required timeline in the delivery of different activities. The CPU and the RAM of the computers should be able to run efficiently with proper capacity to enhance the accommodation of large data. On the other hand, software, which enhances the proper storage of the data for security purposes, will be required for the company. This will enhance proper book keeping for the company for both the customer needs and security evaluation.

- Executive management support: the management support will help to procure the best devices and equipment to enhance the security measures. In addition, they will be able to make the by-laws which will be able to govern the business part for the company and therefore enhance proper and efficient running of the company.
- Financial management: the financial management will be able to make the decision on the type and quality of the security in the company. the quality of the equipment marks the standard of the security measures which is able to translate to the business success.
- Customer relationship management (CRM): the CRM will be able to provide the bigger picture of Altitude Online to the public and therefore able to enhance the way different clients will view the company. Proper CRM activities will help to attract the business part for the company and enhance its operation.
- Human resources management: the human resource department will help to get the right personnel who are able to meet the business requirement for the company. the decision on who comes in and who leaves lies on them and therefore focusses on the company productivity.
- Supply chain management: the supply chain controls the equipment flows. This is able to make decisions on what is needed and when it is needed. Without their analysis, the business needs will not be met.
- Project management: the project management has the bigger role of controlling all the parties and ensuring that they play their parts effectively. In other words, the project management monitors the activities and therefore enhances the operational efficiency for the company.
- Supplier relationship management: the supplier’s relationship is able to focus on the customer and suppliers needs. This ensures that the external parties’ needs are addressed well and that they will turn again to enhance the business operation in future.
