The costume of the Tin Man reaches a sense of realism because it was actually made out of metal so that would be an advantage in the film. A disadvantage would making the costume stiff and not giving the actor the possibility of moving more naturally but making him feel kinda like a robot. But I like the idea of using oil to make him less stiff so that was unique. But I would make him more tin man like than robot-like.
This scene is probably the most emotional scene arguably in the film. This scene is also a very joyful scene as he rewards the friends Dorothy found along her journey but yet a sad scene because now she must say goodbye to her new friends forever but in return finally get to go home. The filmmaker achieve this mood with the emotional music and lighting and the performance of the amazing actors during that time.
What is the character’s motivation? How does the character change during the film? How does the filmmaker show the progression of this motivation and change? The character I chose is Dorothy because she starts off as a naive girl who wants more in life and to leave her town behind.
as she goes through her journey in Oz she realizes she misses her simple life because the life she wishes for is chaotic and does not includes her family.Dorothy motivation is her shaping her own destiny and deciding for once in her life that she want to go back home.
The Wizard of Oz is often considered a family-friendly story. If you were in charge of a production (film or theatre), how might your production be different if you knew your audience was likely to have small children versus if you knew that the audience would be mostly high school age?. If the audience was a majority of small children I wouldn’t change anything because the movies are family appropriate. For an older audience I would include more action scenes and more scenes that connect the characters with the audience and only include the essential songs that made the movie beloved for generations.
