Introduction to Ride to Deakin
Discuss about the Social Media and Employability Skills Gap.
I think that Ride to Deakin is one of the easiest and convenient rides that the students of the Deakin University can use to reach their classes without any loss of time. This can really be a very good experience as this will help students in sharing their fun rides with their friends. This will be a very good chance for meeting with new people and getting to make many new friends. Moreover, reaching the classes on time is an inevitable part of the day to day University activity but often availing the buses to reach the class becomes a very difficult task, so this is really a very good idea. I feel that this has many new advantages over the old existing form of cab products of my University. This Ride to Deakin will be the current transportation that will be available to me and it will be very user friendly as well. The existing carpool of my University is available only on the web portal and not on any kinds of apps or other smartphone activities. So, this is a very big problem for me and my friends to check and the book the rides by logging in to the web portals every now and then. Each time I have to calculate the cost of the ride and this is really a very big problem. So, I feel that Ride to Deakin will be much useful than the existing carpooling system of my University. I am really very happy o see the advantages that I will be getting after availing this idea like using it easily through the mobile app, booking the rides and the cost calculation through the apps itself. I can also notify my friends and pick them up along the way of the ride. It is very easy to find people and get connected with them. I will make sure that this is a tech-based app and is built with all the modern and updated applications like the cloud computing, graphics designing, website and database design and others. We will also take care of the cybersecurity so that there is no case of hacking. There are some skills that I need to develop like the navigation of the legal system, collection of the up-to-date information, collection the recent information on the fuel price. It will also be very eco friendly and will be a good experience. It helps in sharing the price among many people and it is a very comfortable ride as well. I favor this idea more as it helps in managing the good use of the parking areas as well. It will help in increasing the overall satisfaction of the students as the services will be exit students of many other campuses and universities as well. The methods of using it is also very easy as one can easily login to the site by using the respective Deakin Info. Select options from Driver or Ride. There will also be the in-app targeted advertising that will help for the promotion. This will be an idea that will enrich the knowledge of the whole team and it is dedicated towards the comfort and safety of all the students (Larkin et al. 2018).
Benefits of Ride to Deakin
The different professional skills that are required to undertaken as per the Graduate Learning Outcomes (GLO) helps in enhancing the learning roles of the individuals and thereby bring forth professionalism in the job roles. The identification of the needs of the profession and the manner in which they can be applied on the job role helps in the efficient functioning of the workforce. Deakin’s Graduate Learning Outcomes delineates the knowledge and capabilities that the graduates can acquired after the completion of their course. It helps in bringing forth professionalism in the practices of the individuals as they complete the courses that are planned by the university. The section of the analysis reflects on the manner the course and the learning attributes helped me in improving my professional skills as an IT professional (Benson, Morgan and Filippaios, 2014).
Discipline specific knowledge is defined as a set of systems, which helps the individuals in discriminating between the broader field of knowledge and the specific technical knowledge that is applicable to the different professional fields. It helps in maintaining the different levels of change in the systems and the performance of the individuals in the professional fields to bring in improvements in the performance. The Discipline specific knowledge has helped me in identifying the different activities that I am required to take while bringing forth changes in the professional systems of the undertakings. It has helped me to identify the issues that are faced by me while functioning in the field I am into and the manner in which I can implement steps to mitigate the different discrepancies (Jackson 2015).
GLO1 has helped me to identify the different capabilities that are required to get employment in the different sectors in Australia as per the identification of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) guidelines. The guidelines will be helping me to bring in efficiency in the functions that I will be undertaking as an IT professional and thereby enhance the scopes of employability in the Australian markets. The delineation of the required talent and the manner in which it can be fostered in the individuals are the major aim of the GLO1. On the other hand, the specific knowledge on different disciplines will be helping the students to gain specialization in the different fields, which will help the same in successfully implementing professionalism in their approach. The identification of the specific knowledge on IT has helped me to gain specialization on the different ventures that are undertaken by me and thereby facilitated me to apply for a job as per my capabilities. The inclination of the framework towards the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) has also helped in inducing the specialized knowledge in the individuals. It has helped me in identifying the different steps that might be taken by me to bring in efficiency in the functions as a specialist of IT.
Comparison with Existing Carpooling System
Communication is an important outcome of the module as it prepares the students of the university to bring in changes in the manner in which they communicate with their colleagues, employers, clients and the like. It will be helping the students to undertake steps to make use of different medias for holding effective communication with the people in the different sections of the society and their workplace. The learning outcome has helped me the manner in which effective verbal and written communication can be undertaken. It has helped me to crack interviews while considering the different employability concerns. On the other hand, the course has helped me to bring in changes in the practices of the written communication through the application of the presentable nature of proposals, letters memos and the like. The simplistic knowledge of the written communication techniques has helped me in widening the scope of getting employment in different IT sectors (Wylie and Neeley 2016).
On the other hand, the4 module has also helped me to develop skills of oral or verbal communication through which I would be able to interact with my fellow colleagues and management of the issues that I am facing while working in the different fields. It has helped me to bring forth changes in the manner in which I can interact with the people and thereby facilitate changes in the situations. The module has also helped me to effectively use English as an additional language and thereby to develop insights of the manner in which the English can be strengthened to widen the scopes of my employability in Australia as per the guidelines of Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
Critical thinking is a multi-step process, which includes observation, analysis and reflection on knowledge that is gained and thereby identifies the manner in which it can be applied in the different circumstances to bring in changes in the systems. The outcome of this learning has helped me to think critically and thereby analyze and observe the different issues to culminate into a decision. It has helped in enhancing the decision- making skills and thereby has helped me to position myself in a respectable position in an organization’s management (McPeck 2016).
The Deakin Graduate Learning Outcome Minimum Standards has taken steps to explore the capabilities of the candidates and thereby take steps to enhance their capabilities of evaluation and decision making through proper observation techniques. The course aims at inducing the characteristic elements of being an appropriate critical thinker, which are questioning, empathetic, honest, being analytical and a strong hold on the objective. It has helped me in developing the different skills that are required to match up with the expectation of the employers in the Australian markets. The course has helped me in enhancing the different capabilities related to critical thinking through the curriculum design of placing an issue and thereby asking the students to solve the riddle through their observation, analysis and reflective skills. The assignments that were developed by the course helped me in identifying the manner in which the different elements of strategies and the manner in which they can be better positioned to mitigate the issues.
Accessing Ride to Deakin
The different key elements of the change in the structure and the functioning of the individuals are supported through the proper functioning of the personnel depending on the capabilities of the same. The module has helped me to identify the different issues that I might face while undertaking the job role of an IT professional and the manner in which I might take ste4ps to mitigate the issues to adhere to the requirement of the organization as per the regulations.
I think that this is one of the most inevitable parts that I have come across in the whole assignment. If I know how to manage myself properly then I will be able to make sure that I am being accountable for my own responsibilities. I have developed the self analysis ability that has been very helpful in guiding me to fund out the areas of my strength and weakness. I will be able to see and find out the areas where I am already very strong and also those where I am falling back and I am bit weak. It is in those areas that I will be able utilizing the opportunities for my improvement. If I am able to manage myself properly then I will always be able to do my work in a routine wise manner. The work will become very easy for me and I will be able to do the work in an error-free manner. I have seen that lack of self management leads to many problems in the work schedule. I have learned that there are some attributes that fall under the category of the self management. They are-
Processing the information and using them. I have learned to use a certain piece of information and use it for the purpose of knowledge building.
I have also inculcated among myself the behavior of adapting to the different kinds of behavior that might crop up suddenly. There can be many unknown and unforeseen changes in my surroundings and I will have to easily adjust myself to them (Vohs and Baumeister 2016).
I have learnt how to set the priorities and work accordingly to achieve them. This is one of the most important aspect of self management. I have learned that unless I am setting any particular goal for myself, I will be not able to make any proper routine for achieving them. I have to set a destination or a goal for the future and then work accordingly. My goal was to suggest the idea of the ride to Deakin and explain why was it suitable for all of use to switch over it than the normal carpooling service that is existing currently in the University. I have also learnt how to make a time and a routine organized work so that I can move forward in a very systematic manner. This has helped me to do my work in a very systematic manner and reach towards my goal in a proper time. I have seen that this approach makes the work very easy and very organized (Thistlethwaite et al. 2016). It helps to find out the mistakes and solve them at the same time. I have also created a very unique and independent style of studying. I like to use all the modern scientific devices and then collect the information from all those sources. I also like to concentrate on the system of feedbacks. It also helps I the stress relieving functions as well. If there are lot of work that cannot be managed on time then it creates a huge depression and stress. As a result of this, self management in such cases becomes very helpful. I have been able to perform my work in a systematic, error free and easy manner (Teachassist.deakin.edu.au 2018). This has helped me o finish the work in time without creating any stress or depression on me (Teachassist.deakin.edu.au 2018).
Professional Skills Enhancement through Graduate Learning Outcomes
I believe that teamwork is one of the most important aspects that I have learned through the course of this assignment. This is the key to the success of each and every work. I made sure that each and every individual is involved within the work. Teamwork is very important as this helps in getting g the valuable information and the feedback from each and every one who is involved in the team (Cooper 2017). I have always encouraged each and every member of the team to participate actively and give their valuable piece of feedback. I have seen that this is really a very important aspect and helps in the organization of the whole concept as a whole. This teamwork helps in bringing all the members close to one another and the team spirit is built (Séin-Echaluce et al. 2015). This also helps in developing a more creative outlook towards the whole situation and many new innovations also come up. I have been able to get many new ideas from all the team members that were involved in my team. I saw that when people start working in a team they communicate with each other in a very cooperative and a proper way and thus develop the feeling of cooperation and mutual understanding. This also helps in bringing out the different minds of abilities that are present within all the team members. It is a known fact that not all the team members have the similar kinds of abilities within one another. This has helped the team members to learn from each other and grow. This helps in developing lifelong learning skills as well. While doing the presentation of the ride to Deakin, I have seen that interacting with all my team members have really been very helpful. It has helped to gather many new ideas that have contributed towards the overall working of the plan. It is through the involvement of the team members that I have got to know about this problem of lack of transportation that exists even in the other Universities. So, we have made applications so that the service gets extended to as many people as possible. This also helps in dividing the workload and then assigning respective job roles to different team members. Teamwork helps in building the spirit of confidence, knowledge sharing, and cooperation among one other. This in turn helps in creating opportunities for future. Teamwork has helped me and my teammates to become job ready so that we do not really find it difficult to work in any teams during our future employment. The team building activities are also very helpful as it helps in working together and putting forward a joint collaboration for finding the solution to all kinds of problems.
Discipline Specific Knowledge
Global citizenship is a concept that delineates the manner in which the way of thinking, acting, relating and responding to socio-cultural elements is incorporated among the individuals. It helps in identifying the global trends and the manner in which they can be applied to the different functions of the individuals. Reflection on the environmental aspects and the manner in which they influence the employability helps in maintaining the different levels of change in the systems of the functions. GLO8 has taken steps to enumerate the manner in which the development of the world view can be possessed through the enumeration of local information helps in encouraging knowledge building process.
The module have helped me in identifying the different needs of the global communities and thereby include my understanding into the actions to make them more viable to the changes in the systems of the operations. It has helped me to critically evaluate the different issues and situations in the global perspectives. The evaluation of the different needs of the communities and the manner in which they can be applied to the context of my functions will be helping me to enhance the performance and the effects of the different modes of change in the systems. It has helped me to understand the global trends in the IT sector and thereby bring in reforms in the structure of my work. The key activities that was undertaken by the module has introduced to me the manner in which I might take steps to understand the different cultural perspectives and the manner in which the changes will be defining the functions that in undertake as an IT professional. The activities that was enumerated as per the module has helped me in evaluating the different perceptions of the change in the systems and the functioning of the business and thereby has helped me to adhere to the expectations of the organizations. The module has helped me in enhancing the scopes of employability in the organizations while operating in the global markets.
