- Literature Review/Theoretical Framework
Bartl and Konecny (2016), attributes or characteristics of a certain construct are believed to be the ‘heart of concept analysis. They are features of a concept that represent genuine definition of which contradicts the dictionary meaning. The attributes that were adopted for employee engagement are Communication, Value and Mutual Trust.
Communication is one of the attributes identified in assisting to foster internal engagement. Employers should distinctly indicate their expectations from the employees and also supply them with feedback on their performance and work. Employers should also give purposeful work to employees so it also provides career growth. There should be collaboration amongst staff members at all times and employers should motivate their employees to work as a time at all times. Lastly, managers should provide an opportunity whereby employees are given a chance to partake in management decision-making where they can express their ideas, suggestions and ways to improve the organisation (Blašková, Bízik and Jankal, 2015).
Antecedents
Value is very significant in trying to implement employee engagement. Employees become very productive when they notice that they are valued (Arslan, 2017). Managers should therefore make sure that employees feel valuable and important and show them that they care. One way of demonstrating that you value your employees is through complimenting them. Compliment them by giving recognition for a job well done. One can also single them out and reward them according to their achievement, something that can’t be done in a group setting.
Trust is key to the success of an organisation, regardless if it is big or small. Employers can best engage their employees by letting them do their tasks without telling them how to do it. Management should clearly state the organisations visions and goals and have trust that employees will execute them to the best of their ability (Nasri and Zarai, 2013).
Antecedent’s concepts are conditions or events that are apparent prior to the happening of a specific construct (Escobar, Arcediano and Miller, 2001). Without these antecedents, employee engagement would not be implemented successfully. Involvement in decision-making, internal communication, internal marketing and internal branding were antecedents to internal engagement processes identified in this concept analysis.
- Introduction
According to Muftiadi and Maulina (2016), organizations in all the industries are bending to the dynamic market situations and decreased demand, making the management to emphasise cost saving. The procurement function is the main lever for value-added cost performance, and numerous organisations have created initiatives concentrated on cost maximisation. Nevertheless, a slight emphasis on costs may oversight the better value prospect. Prominent organisations balance other aspects like the improvement of income via supplier abilities and scheduling for the perspective of reserved supply markets in the imminent for purposes of meeting bearable value.
In reference to Gupta et al., (2018), organizations usually place their energies mainly on strategic sourcing. However, strategic sourcing only may not result in bearable merits. Less emphasis on strategic sourcing can minimise costs for the purchaser, but may not safeguard enduring attainment of those advantages. More significantly when conducted in a way in which value is merely the emphasis, strategic sourcing may lead to damaging of the supplier rapport which may become important in stints of supply limitations. In its place, the focus needs to be on enabling lasting value acquired from suppliers instead of only getting the least price. Organizations need to grasp the existing economic situations as a chance to improve their supplier associations. This comprises integrating the leading suppliers in energies to raising income, looking for means to poise costs and risks, and cooperating to minimise buyer costs at the same time assisting those suppliers to uphold and even expand profit brims.
- Corporate reputation
Organizational policies and procedures do an important duty in setting in sustainability into the daily activities of an organisation. Attaining the objectives and approaches put in place by the executive depends, partly, on creating better work systems and strong procedures. Mentoring or training of employees ensures that each gets to know the expectation of the organisation on him or her. Another critical aspect is ensuring that the processes are used regularly. This needs obligation from workers to put on the measures and from executive to assign equipment and the time required. Attaining the effort of employees is necessary. Employees have proper ideas regarding raising efficiency and minimisation of waste. The workers also adhere to the procedures constantly in situations where they contribute to forming those procedures and comprehend them. The whole set of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that handle the organisation’s sustainable processes assist sustainability to become the ‘norm’ with each being aware of the expectation on him or her by the executive.
- Decline in Company Sales
The consumers have become the main element of change at Electrolux Company. The new generation of customers are entirely different from the previous consumers, so the company needs to change in order to support the requirements of the new generation of consumers of the industry (Zopiatis and Theocharous, 2018). The modern consumer is not expecting the traditional facilities and the arrangement of services, so the company’s management have to identify the modern trends of the consumers and they have to change the arrangements of the items and the other services. The new generation of consumers do not like the traditional approaches and the porters to carry their baggage at the process of registration, they want to have a more home-like atmosphere, so the company and other facilities must be restructured. Modern technology such as internet, Wi-Fi has become an essential part of consumers’ expectations, so the company must be able to provide that. There should be working spaces in the departments, as the consumers are busy. The modern consumer is interested in a friendly and relaxing buy-setting, so the management needs a technological setting, comfortable process and other facilities in their stores for the new generation of consumers. The modern consumer has become a free, liberal and social animal, so he or she needs a more home-like atmosphere and the ability for social interactions in simple yet comfortable settings. It is the duty of the operators of the company to adopt itself according to the behavioral trend of the consumers (Aydin, Ceylan and Aydin, 2014).
- Technology
Technology plays a vital role in any business setting through enhancing the chances for success, which are attributed to online platforms, internet advertisements, and online business survey and e-commerce platforms (Adler, 2010). Currently, technology plays a major role in business. Many things that were initially done by the paper are now being performed using technology. Technology is continuously expanding and evolving to fit the needs of those using it, especially in helping companies carry out their day-to-day operations (Szabo and Koblen, 2017). For instance, at Zara Inc. the development of the textile business has created a huge demand in the textile industry, the long-term growth, as well as the ability of the organization all over the sphere, has been witnessed. Technology helps many businesses to pass information and keep records. For instance, the case states Watson is being used for many projects for IBM clients and partners across 6 continents, 25 countries, and 12 industries. With the availability of mobile devices, businesses are able to communicate and sell their products all over the world. The Enterprise Resource Planning has multiple applications such as SAP and database that support record keeping, watch videos, take pictures, and search the web to get assistance in real time for customer’s preferences. The investigation into Zara’s shows that the company’s core strategy is the capability to provide prompt feedback to consumers’ demands and the ability to understand technology and customers’ styles. The company has the capability to recognize current trends and meet customers’ demand through technological advancements that are very operative and an organized structure (Shen, 2015).
- Implications – the research gap
None of the literature on both customer based reputation and customer loyalty dispute the importance of both in a company even more.
This review of literature further emphasised that the effects of corporate reputation will differ depending on context i.e. country, industry and stakeholder. This differences, is only in magnitude and not that some industry are affected and others are not affected.
According to A??k, ?nce and Vural, (2018), a qualitative approach is followed as experiences and the meaning affiliated with phenomena are sought and a qualitative approach is best suited to address these types of objectives. This research utilized a qualitative approach to collect and analyse data from various sources.
The study took place in two phases. The research strategies that were employed in this study included a literature review during phase one, and a case study in phase two. The literature review was undertaken to explore the essence of the concepts relevant to this study. The case study strategy was employed during phase two to provide a deep exploration within a natural setting, and attempted to supply a full understanding of the particular, as well as lived experiences of the research participants.
According to Liu, (2016), a case study approach can add features that are needed to guide the goals of a qualitative study. Another advantage of a case study, that is relevant to this study, is that data are gathered from multiple perspectives to understand the problem holistically. During the case study, data was gathered by means of semi-structured interviews and focus groups. Semi-structured interviews and focus groups are data collection techniques that can be used successfully in case studies (A??k, ?nce and Vural, 2018). The focus groups allowed comparison of notes on the views and opinions of all participants, simplifying the data. The semi-structured interviews were used to obtain a deeper understanding of issues raised during the focus group meetings. A method of carrying out enquires and examinations with the aim of expanding the skills of understanding are referred to as research was also involved. The process was carried out for exploration, examination and coming up with established associations on the way they vary in relation to the selected topic of study.
- Introduction
Methodology that is used to make appropriate knowledgeable strategy on the way the research is to be conducted is called research design (Shtiza and Swennen, 2011). It aids in carefully illustrating a comprehensive and a thorough way of carrying out a study. It sheds the uncomplicated study queries and glitches that are talked about in the chosen study. The research design guide lined framework helps in showing how the research has to be carried out in relation to specific viewpoints, ethics and conventions. cooperation, state owned and sectors that are individually owned in the bank sector were under the study to be knowledgeable on the effects of culture of the firm and the way workers engage themselves while relaying information to their colleagues. The research commenced an evocative strategy, investigative and prognostic study. After the hypothetical outline had been established, procedures used to collect information were strategic and execution was considered in relation to the designs for research (Murphy and Hands, 2016).
- Research approach and justification
Here, an investigative exploratory research was carried out with a sampled number of 90 individuals that were from the finance area (De Langhe and Schliesser, 2017). It was meant to examine how reliable and valid measurement used in the research. Before testing could start, there was deletion of those things that had minor loading factors and cross loadings. Those tests done before the real study emphasized on unambiguousness of several matters related with declarations used in the feedback form. The research aided in making approximation of ten to fifteen minutes taken by those involved in giving feedbacks in the research.
- Details of specific data collection techniques
Surveys and Data collection testing which are conducted by the research offers an overview in a sustainability program to produce biogas. Obtaining information form primary sources or organizing data obtained from the available sources, the questionnaire offers a new perception into the value of programs, household views, attitudes, and policies. The questionnaires work as standards of gauging the previous information against the current one and give help in projecting the future. Survey Research and Data Collection testing has gone a long in helping how biogas production system developed. That is to say “Public opinion on biogas production has experienced a substantial change in the previous years. Sustenance to sustainable biogas production as a core equipment in energy exploitation is fading since a good number of households discard chastely retributive methods of biogas production. Thus, the households have endorsed a stable and complex resolution which emphasizes sustainability as well as conservation of energy together with other approaches.”
