Cultural intelligence is aligned with an individual’s emotional intelligence. When a person can comprehend all three elements of cultural intelligence – cognitive, emotional, and physical, you can truly connect and interpret another person’s cultural differences and how they will interact in a work setting, which goes well beyond accepting and understanding diversity. When an individual has a good understanding of cultural intelligence they will adapt better to different multicultural environments. Having a deeper understanding of cultural differences and intelligence will help in stressful situations where conflict could arise from not being able to adapt to other cultural ways of thinking or acting. In a group environment, the more people who have a higher level of cultural intelligence will be able to work through problems cohesively due to respect and understanding of each person’s cultural differences.
