Objective

The main objective of this research is to identify the optimum printing speed and shell thickness for mechanical properties for ABS 3D printed materials. In order to achieve the main objective, the specific objectives should be considered:

  1. To identify which printing speed suitable for strength of 3D printed material.
  2. To investigate which type of shell thickness that is suitable and strong enough to withstand the fatigue requirement.
  3.  To determine the result of the research does meet the requirement with the result of previous literature and original design.

Scope of the study

This research paper is to analyses the influence of printing speed and shell thickness on the mechanical properties of 3D printed ABS material.

Significance of the study

This research is about to find the most suitable printing speed of 3D printed ABS material and its shell thickness to apply for printed by the 3D printer in order to get in any event same necessity as existing 3D printed part by regular technique. The importance is to produce a component with a suitable structure by 3D print that can save the source of raw material in future and produce various design. In addition, by conducting this project research, it will be contributed to addition of new research to University for students to conduct an experiment based of 3D printed product.
