Technique Used to brush teeth
The functionalities of both Oral B Braun 5000 electric toothbrush and Smart Guide will be analyzed by reading and understanding the user manual. The techniques, modes and operations presented in the device will be analyzed. The software to draw State chart diagram for both electric brush and Smart Guide will be used. The features and functionalities will be detailed.
Technique Used to brush teeth
- Before using toothbrush, the head of the brush should be wet and then our favorite tooth paste which you think comfortable can use to clean tooth.
- It is recommended that to use brush head for cleaning tooth before enabling this electrical appliance and this prevents from spraying.
- For perfect cleaning of tooth, kindly rub each tooth smoothly and slowly for sometimes by head of tooth brush.
- Brushing process should be start from outside, inside and then finally end with the chewing surfaces of mouth.
- Brushing will complete by cleaning all four quadrants of mouth gradually. For more help, dentist’s advice will guide us to use properly and can ask them for right technique which suits our mouth.
- At starting days of using electric toothbrush, the tooth gums may bleed. It’s a generally happening thing and it will stop bleeding few days later. If it is not stopped after two weeks, the people should consult dentist. TO avoid this problem, the ‘sensitive mode’ is recommended to use by Oral-B brush head.
The user can use two different type of timer such as ‘Professional’ and ‘two minute’ timer.
In two minute timer, after two minutes, the device signals with green color light and with a short shuttering sound.
In professional timer, this green color with short shuttering sound will play every 30 seconds. This timing will vary to 40 seconds when it moves into next quadrant. Generally, ‘Deep Clean’ mode is recommended. Resetting the timing for each time is not necessary because, it automatically resets even the device is either switched off or paused.
To change this mode to ‘two minutes’ mode, the mode button should be long pressed for 3 seconds. After showing <<:30>> on SmartGuide, the button should be pressed. Then in the timer, on/off button should be pressed on the ‘2 minutes’ timer.
When the excessive pressure is given on tooth, the green light will changed into red light. And then the cleaning mode will automatically change from <Daily Clean> or <Deep Clean> mode into <Sensitive mode>.
This process is checked periodically when giving a small press on the toothbrush while brushing. After completing the brushing and using sensor for finding pressure will automatically turned off and enable the <Tongue Cleaning> mode.
- SmartGuide Helps to handle the transmission of radio waves while using these waves with more number of Oral-B toothbrush for eliminating the interference of display messages. In such cases, One SmartGuide is enough to handle 2 brushes by synchronization.
- For further operation, there will be a button on the battery compartment named <h/min> and it should be pressed for minimum 3 seconds. On SmartGuide, the message <<L—>> will be displayed.
- To begin the process of synchronization, the handle should be enabled. The second handle also need to be assigned to the SmartGuide and then enable other new handle till it displays the <<L-2->> message.
- If both handles synchronized with same SmartGuide, the message <<Full>> will be displayed. The press the <<h/min>> button, to come out from the synchronization mode or else we can press <<set>> button. If we do not do this operation, it will automatically end the synchronization process at next 30 seconds.
Here I have chosen Lucidchart which is an online UML diagram drawing tool to draw state chart diagram. As it is an online tool, we need to sign up new account, and create more diagrams (“Online Diagram Software & Visual Solution | Lucidchart”, 2018). There are more facility available for sharing our drawings to other people. In this tool, there are different types of templates available. We can choose the right one based on our requirement. The state chart diagram for both Oral-B 5000 electric toothbrush and Oral-B 5000 SmartGuide are given. Based on the functionalities of both electronic brush and SmartGuide given in the manual, the working states are analysed. 739e
What are the modes of operation can be done in tooth brush by user and how they are facilitating in tooth cleaning process?
Modes of operation for toothbrush and their benefits
According to the designed model of the electric toothbrush, there are different types of brushing modes presented in the tooth brush.
<Daily Clean> Mode:
It is the standard default brushing mode which is used to clean teeth and mouth cleanly in day to day.
<Deep Clean> Mode:
It extends the brushing time from default brushing time. In this mode, it will take 45 seconds for each quadrants and totally it takes 3 minutes of brushing time to clean entire mouth.
<Sensitive> Mode:
It helps to clean the very sensitive areas of mouth. It makes feel superior fresh of mouth.
<Whitening> Mode:
It polishes the enamel gently, we can turn on this mode for either daily use or occasionally.
<Gum Care> Mode:
It helps to strengthen the gums by massaging smoothly.
<Tongue Cleaning> Mode:
It cleanses the tongue gently, we can turn on this mode for either daily use or occasionally.
While enabling ‘Tongue Cleaning’ mode, it is recommended to use the <Sensitive> head of the electric tooth brush. As it is a sensitive cleaning mode, the tooth paste is not required. We can brush without using tooth paste. Gently provide slow motion movements while cleaning tongue. Repeat this movements for whole tongue. 20 seconds of gentle movement on tongue is enough for brushing. The SmartGuide helps to intimate the completion of 20 seconds brushing with a smiley face.
Generally, the Oral-B 5000 electric tooth brush begins with the <Daily Clean> mode automatically. If we want to change the brushing mode, there will be a ‘Mode’ button and we can press and change the brushing mode. After completing this changed brushing mode, the default brushing mode can be returned back by press and hold on the mode button for some time. Even the device is switched off, while brushing, the state of the previous brushing mode is saved. If the user forgets to resume the mode more than 30 seconds or briefly pressing mode button, it will automatically resets to the <Daily Clean> mode.
What will happen after synchronization and what special feature it has?
If both handles synchronized with same SmartGuide, the message <<Full>> will be displayed. The press the <<h/min>> button, to come out from the synchronization mode or else we can press <<set>> button. If we do not do this operation, it will automatically end the synchronization process at next 30 seconds.
