2. Respond to the Trolley Problem discussed in the reference link found below. What would you do and why? On which ethical theory would you rely? Would your answer change based on the identities of the people on each side of the switch-track (i.e. your friends and family vs. convicted criminals vs. complete strangers, etc.)? Also, remember that you are not responsible for the circumstances that have imperiled the five people on the track toward which the trolley is initially heading, but if you intervene and switch tracks, then in doing so you make a deliberate choice that ends the life of a person. This is the classic distinction between action and omission, but does this matter in terms of ethics and what you would do?
