As mentioned by its designers the bosco verticale will aid in the continuity and existance of present day european cities thorugh its structural elements. In other words, the tower will help improve the urban environment by restocking existing woodlands and forests through the method of refostraiton and by the restoration of environental intergrtity thorugh the use of native species. Therefore, the architects dealing with this project have thought og installing over 900 enormus trees that will help shape an essental part of the overall strucuture.
The propossed tree have varoius heights which range between 3 to 9 m long, these trees are accompanies by large number of floral plants and shrubs which emphaize their qualities while also contributing to the overall naturalitisc system. Based on recent estamits, if these massive quanitites of tree where placed along a flat area of land, more than 10,000 sqm of the land will be covered by the tree system. Also, the redidenal area enclosed within the landscape of the building if laid horontally will comibine and area of 50,000sqm.
This projects has been anticipated as being “able to continue in a healthy state without outside assistance” not only that but it also improves and generates energy., the rare qualities of these towers serve as a “natural skin system ” by the plant forms. To some extent the building”s microccliimate will improve as a result of the qualities of the draping trees.(qualities of draping trees). These can lead to minimal or no energy consumptions while also improving indoor heat along with comfortability levels and tempreture control.
Morever, the rich luxuriant cover serves as a filtering agent which prevents harmful dust particles from escaping into the building indoor environment.
The unique features of this project becames even more notable as milan regardless of its long signifant architecure, it remains a highly polluted part of italy. Therefore, the different layers of this design helps to reduce both nosie and air pollution, abosrob the differernet dust partcles along with co2 particles and also regulates temmpretures. As a result, energy costs can hguhely reduce which is econimcally effiencent. The architects responsible for this very sucessful proijecty have also had ideas of individuallistic distinctive attribute for almost every balacony attached to the building. These cantilevered balconies will be surrounded by decidious trees, these trees have special qualities such as their canopiese which are lush and these enables them during the winter times to take in natural sunlight and also provide shade during the summer periods. Bosco verticale although very suceffsull it is part of an even bigger project called BioMilano. This very important, sustinable attempt will involve desinging a large, green belt surrounding the city by attempting to renegize more than 60 deserted farms.
