Disabled people and their potential
Discuss about the Analyze And Understand The Issue Of Disability.
The disabled people around the world are a great reserve of human potential and to fully explore the human resource the disabled people must be given opportunities and chances to rise higher in their lives. The disabled people also have a right to self-determination like all the able-bodied people do and in order to assist and support the disabled people, the government as well as the stakeholders involved in the running of a country need to give every assistance and support so that they are able to achieve their full potential and realise their aims and objectives in life. The disabled people also must be encouraged to enter the entrepreneurial as well as the start up ventures as entering these services will enable the disabled people to become self-dependent and self-reliant. The disabled people must also be given all sort of support and assistance by the common people and the society so that they do not feel secluded. The societies must be inclusive and should include the disabled in all the walks of life. The report analyzes the position and the status of the disabled people and how the disable people can be assisted to rise higher in life.
The disabled people are guaranteed rights and privileges under various laws and legal frameworks an it is important for the government as well as the international bodies to make sure that the disabled are given enough opportunities so that they are able to prosper and progress in their lives. The disabled people are a form of human resource and they must be given ample opportunities for growth and expansion in their careers as well as future ventures in the various aspects of life. The disabled people have immense opportunities in the entrepreneurial ventures and the start-ups mainly because of the new ideas which the disabled people bring to the enterprise. There are barriers to their performance due to the physical conditions of the disabled people but if these aspects can be overcome then the disabled people can be provided an opportunity to achieve greater benefits and prosper in their lives in the future. The disabled people have the right to gain access in the entrepreneurial services and the corporate offices and the physical deformities should not be an issue for the disabled people to not get an opportunity in the enterprises. The disabled people have every right to be given employment opportunities in the preferred enterprises and the entrepreneurial services mainly on terms of their merit and academic qualifications (Taylor et al., 2016). The Government of Australia has provided various legislations and rules regarding the welfare of the disabled people in Australia and there exists various legal writs and documents which seek to provide the justice for the disabled people in Australia and all over the world. The International bodies such as the United Nations and the International Labour Organization has also implemented various rules and regulations for providing employment opportunities to the disabled people (Osman et al., 2016). The disabled people should not be discriminated against and they must be treated with respect and dignity and they must be provided enough opportunities in order to realise their maximum potential and live up to their expectations. The disabled people also have the right to earn for themselves and become self-dependent and self-reliant. Approximately about 16% of the adults in the world are counted amongst the disabled and in 2009, 25% of the adult member population in the European Union had disability. Disabled people generally get employed in low skilled employment options and this is an injustice to the disabled people as they can serve in more capacity than the present employment options. The disabled people getting employed in the low paid jobs are not doing justice to the fact that most of the disabled people have enough academic qualifications necessary for getting employed in the high-paid jobs. The participation rates of the disabled people in the higher-paying job options are low as compared to the abled people. This is because the hiring agencies are not inclined in recruiting the disabled people for the jobs requiring technical skills and the knowledge of technology and certain other aspects. This social exclusion of the disabled people is one of the prime reason why such an important human potential is not exploited to the maximum potential.
Opportunities for disabled people in entrepreneurship and start-ups
To assist the disabled people in performing to their best of abilities and potential it is important for the entrepreneurs and the organizational leadership to present technology to assist the disabled people. Incorporation of the technology along with the knowledge possessed by the disabled people can help them overcome the physical barriers and they will be able to perform to the best of their potential and abilities. One of the solution of increasing the low participation rates among the disabled people is to make them self-employed or make them start their own business (Dakung et al., 2017). Self-employment can become a viable option to make the disabled earn parity in the society and to make the society inclusive and more equal in terms of opportunities. The promotion of the entrepreneurship is an important aspect of the Lisbon agenda as well as the Europe 2020 strategy which promises to treat entrepreneurship as one of the most important component of building a smart, sustainable as well as inclusive growth (Scarborough, 2016). The inclusion of the disabled people in the entrepreneurial jobs can be assisted by providing them the technology to compensate for the physical disability (Shah, 2016). The use of the digital media platform as well as the simulation tools can be included for the blind and the deaf people. The electronic wheelchair can be provided for the disabled people who are unable to walk. Doing these will facilitate the process of social inclusion of the disabled people in the job markets and will make them an important part of the economic force (Grover & Piggott, 2015). The inclusion of the disabled people in the entrepreneurial job market will offer an increasing aspect of the development process to assimilate all the people in the society. The disabled people are an important aspect of the human capital resource and they must be made an important aspect in the job market to realize the contribution of the people in the economy of the country as well as the society (Renko, Parker Harris & Caldwell, 2016). The society which does not give enough opportunities and chances to the disabled people are not able to develop as much as those societies which presents equal opportunities and chances for the disabled people. The disabled people need every type of assistance form the organizational leadership to achieve their true potential and doing this will only pose well for the benefit of the organisation in the long run. The disability of a person should never be a blockade in the overall achievement of a person and should never be a deciding factor in the employment opportunity of a person (Pomerantz, 2017). With the proper assistance of the technology as well as the support of the government as well as the society, the disabled can earn the respect and the rightful place which they deserve in the society.
Legal framework and support for disabled people
The number of people with disability has increased over the last two decades and there is an increasing rate of disability among the older people as compared to the younger people. There is an increase in the global rates of chronic health ailments such as diabetes, mental disorders, cardiovascular diseases which have the capability to influence the symptoms and the prevalence of the disability in a person. The trends in the health conditions as well as the environmental factors determine the pattern pf disability in a country (Rozali et al., 2017). The only solution to help the disabled people is to make policies and frameworks which are inclusive and cater to the needs and requirements of the disabled people. The disabled people have a right to be given access to the mainstream policies as well as the entry to the systems and the services. The people with disabilities have ordinary needs and they aspire for the economic and social security as all normal people would do. These needs should be addressed in the framing of the mainstream policies and services towards the disabled. The disabled should be given vocational training so that the chances of the disabled getting entry in the service sector increases. The process of Mainstreaming is defined as the process of ensuring that the people with disabilities participate in the activities and services which are designed as well as intended for the common people. The process of mainstreaming is looked after by the governments and the stakeholders of the business organization involved in the recruitment process (Buntat et al., 2016).
The process of Mainstreaming requires a level of commitment across all the levels. The government and the stakeholders involved in the running of a country need to invest in those programmes and services which are designed for the welfare of the disabled people and the upliftment of the people with disabilities. The Government as well as the stakeholders involved in the running of a country need to plan and adopt a national disability strategy and then formulate a plan of action (Hamburg & Bucksch, 2017). The Government as well as the stakeholders involved in the running of a country need to make sure that the involvement of the people with disabilities exist at the societal level and that the people with disabilities are not secluded from the mainstream communities. There is an immediate need to develop and improve the human resource capacity at the domestic level as well as the international level and this objective can be achieved only through the upliftment of the disabled people in the common walks of life (Movkebayeva et al., 2017). The Government must provide adequate funding for the improvement and the affordability of the disabled people. There is a greater need to increase the public awareness about the understanding of the disability and strengthen and support the research on disability.
The importance of technology in promoting inclusion
From the above analysis, it is clear that disability is a common issue around the world and the disabled people must be provided every opportunity and chances which any able-bodied person gets. The disabled people also have a right to get self determination and they must not be discriminated based on their disability. The societies which caters to the needs and requirements of the disabled people can prosper and develop in comparison to those societies where the disabled are secluded from the mainstream population. There is a greater need to frame such policies and guidelines which are disabled friendly and provide an opportunity for the disabled people to achieve their goals and ambitions in life. The disabled people must be encouraged to take up the entrepreneurial jobs as taking up these jobs will enable the disabled to become self-reliant and secure their lives. The disabled will be able to achieve self determination if they are aided and support at every walk of their lives by the common people.
