The Ideas of the University: World University
Discuss about the Business Management Of World University.
The report below would be mainly discussing about the World University. A group of organization has come together to form a University which is associated with conducting all its business on an online platform. It is possible for any of the students to get all the lectures online and this can be done by simply logging in into the students portal. This online portals would also be helping the students to study at any time of the day. There exists no way of physical interaction with the staffs and the faculties all the interactions are done online. Besides this the university is also associated with providing the students with a facility of getting graduated from any university. Besides this the senior management has also been associated with taking of certain decisions in order to gain certain benefits from the various processes of the University (Dekker et al., 2013). The management of the university has been focusing only on the business side of the education and then on the teaching side. The management has been associated with using the students for getting various types of benefits from the business and this is done by promoting the offerings of the university. The main objective of the university mainly includes the providing of education all across the world by making use of the online platforms. This is the business model which is associated with including both the business as well as the students. And the opportunity they are having are also equal (Drucker, 2012). Due to the fact that this business is large in size therefore the issues which are rising in the business process is also very much high so in this report some recommendations has been provided in order to mitigate all the issues.
The most important idea which is lying behind the university is to include all the private organizations together in order to form the World University. The Universities main aim includes the providing of education on an online basis. This would be helping all the students to conduct their studies on an online basis all throughout the world. Besides this the lecturers would also be helped as well and this would be helping them in providing lecture at any time (Stallingset al., 2012). Due to the fact that the whole process is online then the whole process of education would become easier and this would also be very much convenient. Besides this the staffs are also capable of communicating amongst themselves very easily. Besides this the students would be getting a special option as well which is the facility of getting graduated from any of the university situated in different parts of the world (Fernie & Sparks, 2014). Besides this the students would be able to get themselves affiliated under the world university. Besides this the university would also be provided to the students in every country of the world. Besides this there exists several opportunities for the students as well. This initiative would be helping a lot of students in getting graduated from any part of the world (Stallingset al., 2012). Due to the fact that the whole process is online so the student would be capable of utilizing all the time as well as they decide when they want to study or when they do not want to study. The university would also be associated with providing other types of schemes as well and this might include the providing of loyalty rewards, giving of job opportunities and many more.
Decisions Taken by Senior Management
StudyTogether is the loyalty scheme that has been provided by World universities senior management for every students of the university. The scheme is mainly associated with providing the students with a reward which would be making the students much more loyal towards the university. In case when a student want to take admission form the university has been referred by other student then the students are rewarded with free credit and this is dependent on the admission of the referred student (Luftman et al., 2012). Along with using the referral scheme which are provided to the students and to promote the university, the senior management has also been associated with hiring of agents who would be provided with the responsibility to sell the offering that are provided by the university. The work of the management is also very much efficient for the students and the staffs. This happens due to the fact that whenever any type of application of sent to the management for any kind of approval then it would get improved in almost less than 5 min. The management of the university is also associated with taking o decisions which are mostly regarding the payments which are non-refundable (Morin, Aubert & Gateau, 2012). The non-refundable payments are to be done by making use of eth credit cards or by making use of the PayPal. In this two items are included which are the most important part of the course and the things are laptops and the e-books. The website of the university consists of the “e-book” and the “laptop”. Buying of the e-book and the laptop is compulsory for the students and they have to buy this from the university website and not from outside (Khan, Khalid & ul Haq, 2013). Once the laptops are bought they are sent out to the all students and the laptop are configures according to the course in which the student has taken admission. Besides this the university is also thinking of including some new extra courses along with the older ones. If any of the students has interest in the new courses then he has or she has to pay an extra amount for that. After the payment would be done then would be enrolled under the new course and this payment would be very much nominal (Chourabi et al., 2012). The introduction of the new courses would not only be helping the students but would also be helping the University as well. Another element which can have a huge impact over the business is the social media. Social media can be used by the universities management in order to promote their website in the social media. Social media is a broader platform for promoting a business. In today’s world it is seen that most of the people are engaged in making use of the social Medias like Facebook, twitter, LinkedIn and many other social Medias (Lu et al., 2013). Due to high connectivity more and more people are becoming aware of the new business. The social media can be very much helpful in spreading the name of the University all across the world and this would be very much helpful in attracting more and more students towards the University (Brower & Flemming, 2012). The university should also think of hiring agents who would be associated with promoting the offerings of the university to everyone.
Generating Issue
From the decisions that are taken by the higher management can generate certain issues. The management has taken some decisions to provide the students with the several benefit plan for their activity. Firstly, the management is introduced a scheme that is called as ‘StudyTogether’ loyalty scheme. In this scheme the student will be provide a certain reward for their loyalty towards the university they shown. The scheme is if a student introduce another student by giving a referral and the referred student if gets admission then the existing student will be provided with the fee credit. In this scheme the chance of fraud is very high as the existing student can give a fake referral to earn fee credit from the university (Remenyi & Brown, 2012. The management is working very efficiently as they approving any application in less than 5 minutes. In this the issue is not every application is approvable so if any kind of application that is not approvable if send for the approval and if the application approved then certain issues can be generated from that. The management says that the all the fees are non-refundable and the fees is to be paid by the credit card or by the PayPal. This can create certain problem if the student don have the paypal or credit card access. And the student may face certain problem where he is unable to complete the course then he may need the refund (Saquib et al., 2012). There is a scheme where the university will provide a laptop and e-books to the student who takes admission in the course. The laptop will be pre-configured and will be send to their each and every student. If a student do not have the financial support then it is impossible for the student to buy these two item. And if a student already have own laptop so it also not necessary for him to buy the laptop. The management also taken a decision to introduce an extra certification course where the students are able to do extra certification course by paying extra money to the university. This can lead to a issue that if a student is interested to do the certification course but do not have the money to do the course will have some certain issue. The university also introduced scholarship program for the students who really in need for scholarship (Kappelman et al., 2014). In this scheme the issue is not every student can avail the scholarship there must be an eligibility criteria which the student have to pass then they have to give n scholarship exam. Like every other business in the market this university also choose to promote their business online in the social media. As the social media is a very huge platform the scope is high for the business to grow rapidly (Firestone & McElroy, 2012). There are billions of people who are accessing the social media regularly and the chances are high of getting more students from the social media. The issue is there are so many spammers in the social media so the vulnerability chances are also high as the whole university system is online.
Conclusion:
To conclude the report it can be seen that, the initiative of making a world university is very good. The idea is to bring all the private institution around the globe in a single place. The world university will provide education all over the world online. All the activities related to the university will be online. There will be no man on man interaction between the students or between the staffs. The student will be able to take lectures anytime form the day from anywhere in the world. The lectures also will be uploaded in the portal by the professors. One of the special attraction and highlighting point of this university is that a student residing from any country can do graduate from another desired country. Like if the student studied his entire life in the UK can do graduate from New Zealand if he/she desired to do. For the benefit of the student and for the student many schemes were introduces. For the students there is a scheme where the student will earn reward by referring students. The university is using the social media for the online promotion of the university as well as hired some agent who can sale the offerings to the employees. There are certain issues that are generated from the higher management’s decision and the issues need to be resolved for the betterment of the university online.
Every business face some issues that can affect the business, and this business is also not an exception for that. The world university also faces some issues which are need to be resolved as early as possible by the management. The first issue is regarding the loyalty scheme programme where the student will be rewarded with the fee credit. The scheme has a loop hole where it is said the student will get the fee credit whenever any referral made but the scheme must modify like that after referral if the student will complete the course then only the reward will be given. Secondly, there is a issue related to the must buy option of the laptop. There must be an option where the student can chose whether he/she wants to take the laptop or not because not all can afford the money for the laptop so they can opt out buying the laptop. The scholarship program can be included where the student will get the scholarship be able to take the laptop in a very lower cost. So that the student in need will be helped by the university and the business will get some amount for that. As the payment is online so more online payment gate must be introduced by the management with the option of credit card and PayPal. the student will pay extra can do the certification course that is decided by the management but the scheme is to be like that the student with the merit can do the extra course by paying a nominal fee to the management. There must be an option where the students can pay the fee in monthly instalment. As the whole system is online system so there must be some security for the data. The student information must be encrypted so that any kind of data breach is avoided. These are some of the recommendations for the issue which can be applied in the business model for providing equal benefit for the students and to the business. These recommendation can be implement by the senior management for the improve mint of the World University.
