Background
The report is all about the evaluation of the current issues of the business, the changes to be made and how effective those changes will be to the business. It is composed of the evaluations of the business which contains graphical analysis, the business review which involves the spreadsheet analysis of the business data and the as-is and to-be process models and the evaluation of how the changes would impact the business for instance why the use of the as-is and to-be process models are important to United Milk Product’s growth as a business, the role of process models in the United Milk Product company, the importance of information for UMP and how information technology can revolutionize UMP. The report is also composed of a conclusion and a recommendation on the preferred methods to implement the United Milk Product’s system.
Customer total orders for week 32 for three years
The total orders for the customers Cole Express, BP, 7eleven, Bill’s milkbar have been increasing at an estimate of 19% that is why the projected percentage increase of the orders in 2018 is 19%. This percentage increase is with regards to the continued use of the current business process. If the business process changes and the information system are implemented and the business processes are automated the percentage increase of the total orders in 2018 would be much higher than 19 percent. The low percentage increase in the total orders made by United Milk Products in 2018 is due to the manual ordering through phones, manual checking of stock and finding of the best route of delivery which is experienced in the current system.
This is a pie chart representing detailed information on the individual customer orders that contributed to the total milk product orders made to United Milk Product in week 32 of the three years that is 2016, 2017 and 2018.
Cole Express has the largest contribution to the total, followed by BP, followed by 7eleven and Bill’s milkbar comes in last. All the four individual orders made by Coles Express, Bp, 7eleven and Bill’s milkbar put together form the total orders made which is depicted in brown in the pie chart.
The business processes will go from manual where the administrative levels are physically required to perform duties of checking and so on, to intelligent business processes like the stock management system, ordering system and the customer relationship business process. For instance during ordering for items by a client, the store does not need to check whether certain products are in stock, the stock management system will always be up to date informing the management of the products that are out of stock and those almost out of stock thus, there will be no such thing as delay because a product is not in stock as the stock is updated on timely basis.
UMP case study
The customer relationship management in the current system is dependent on the spreadsheet analysis which have to be done manually by a UMP analyst who generates graphs in excel spreadsheets. The analysis can be wrong depending on the analyst’s perspective when analyzing. With the information system, the customer relationship will be managed in real-time as the customer or client orders products from UMP and pays. Awarding of customers will also be intelligent depending on the customer statistics recorded over time.
Improve the business efficiency. Constant development of business process models as a norm in UMP will enable the management find more efficient ways of undertaking certain business processes (Weske 2012). For instance customer relationship management and how the customers interact with the UMP systems.
Scalability. With business process modeling, UMP can be able to implement and accommodate new features in the business. For instance payment for products through PayPal and other new money transaction agents that is comfortable and convenient to both the business and the clients.

‘As-is’ business process model tends to depict the business process models as they are in the current system. This is the way the business processes are carried out in the business as it is in the current state. For this case everything is manual; from ordering of products by clients, checking of stock of the ordered products to dispatch of the products to the clients.
This depicts the intelligent information system for the business processes management. The ordering of products by clients is via the website, stock control system automatically manages stock with the only thing that is being checked is whether the available stock is enough for the order requested.
Intelligent business processes
Information about the customers UMP serve for instance Cole Express, BP, 7eleven in very vital for its growth. Through the information on the customers, UMP will be able to provide better services as it will have known the needs and preferences for each customer (Taylor and Joudrey 2017).
Information about UMP stock is very vital during ordering business process. Knowing the products in stock and the products out of stock enables timely update of stock and timely processing and delivery of orders to customers (Petter et.al 2008).
Information Technology as an important tool for attracting new customers and gathering information.
Social media platform. Through the adverts made in social media UMP can be able to market themselves and attract more customers (Aral et.al 2013). The interactive pages, the chat forums in social media platform can be used to interact with customers and gather information about what they need and prefer. This enables UMP to understand its market and thus have a competitive advantage.
UMP could use cloud services for their system. The cloud service providers cater for the security of the system, the maintenance of the system, accommodation of technological improvements and are very effective (Armbrust et.al 2013.) The problem with cloud based software or systems are privacy of UMP data and information which can be accessed by the cloud service providers.
UMP should implement a Local Area Network with a gateway to the internet to enable access by customers.
Native stand alone application vs. web page application.
In order to reach a wide range and group of people for marketing process web page application is the best way to go. It can be accessed by many people through the web page searches. Native stand alone applications need to be downloaded first before using them.
Considering the budget for implementation of a web page application against implementation of a standalone application, a web page is easier to implement and less costly as compared to a native stand alone application. A native stand alone application consumes a lot of time during development especially android mobile native stand alone application.
The updates on a web page are instant whereas updates on a native stand alone application requires either un installation of previous version or downloading an update to overwrite the existing application. Therefore updating the native stand alone application will take more time and money as compared to updating a web page.

The user interface in a web page can be constantly changed so as to be user-friendly whereas that of the native stand alone application cannot be changed frequently, developers will always wait until during update of the application.
Web analytics is observing and analyzing the UMP web page to identify the user experience with the web page (Lim et.al 2013.) The user interaction with the web page and the responses the web page gives. The user friendliness, satisfaction and rating of the web page by the user. This enables improvement of the web page interactions with the user and the web page performance effectiveness. Web analytics collects information from the webpage.
Social network analysis is the evaluation of a United Milk Product’s social network. This is how many people the UMP Company has reached through the social platforms like face book, twitter and whatsApp platforms (Aral et.al 2013). Social network analysis enables United Milk Product Company to know its market penetration. This analysis collects information from the social media platforms.
Customer relationship management is the analysis of the customer intimacy with the UMP products. It is composed of reports of the most frequenting customers to the business, the products they buy and the awards United Milk Products offers them. For instance the percentage premiums UMP offers the Cole Express, BP and 7eleven in the excel spreadsheet. Customer relationship management collects information from the CRM system.
UMP complies with the Australian privacy Act 1988 which has thirteen privacy principles on user or customer information that is: the name, address, phone number and other private information stored on a customer. This act protects customer information from loss, exposure, disclosure, theft, unauthorized access and modification.
Implementation of use of SSH and strong passwords. The SSH and strong passwords are hard to crack by a malicious person who would like to access customer information for malicious reasons.
Implementation of Cryptography. Encryption of customer information sent in a network with the keys given to the authorized persons only (Katz and Lindell 2014.) This prevents the unauthorized person from accessing the information giving access to the receiver and the sender only in the network.
Recording of log files. Log files indicate the login activities to a certain account, the activities performed by the account. The purpose of keeping a record of log files is to keep people on toss and accountable for their actions, activities, transactions and operations in their accounts.
Installation of firewalls to filter all the events that happen to computers of UMP Company. This helps in identifying any event out of order and acting against it.
Conclusion
The implementation of the new system for UMP would be best if done through a cloud sourcing provider because of the security, maintenance and upgradability services they offer. The web page mobile method would be best suited for UMP business processes because a web page is more reachable and accessible as compared to native stand alone mobile application.
