Qualifications and Experience
We are looking for qualified cleaners to take care of clients of the organisation. Domestic cleaning is the main work along with some related tasks. The main goal of the cleaner is to complete the cleaning assignment successfully providing the customer with best possible result in cleaning.
Prerequisites
- The person should be constantly motivated and eager to do the job.
- Need positive attitude with excellent cleaning skills and also communication.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Effective relation building skills.
Qualifications and Experience
The candidate should have a high school degree and should have professional experience of cleaning work to at least 1 year.
- Highly skilled in vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, scrubbing and applying finishes to different flooring materials, doors, windows and staircases.
- Cleaning and sanitising washrooms, showers and lockers et cetera.
- Cleaning of furniture and fittings and fixtures.
- Maintenance and cleaning of closets and cupboards in a professional manner.
- Effective knowledge of handling cleaning chemicals and other liquids.
- Maintenance of safety and security of the cleaning equipments and comprehensive knowledge of stocking supplies.
- Would be responsible to take care of the domestic buildings and premises effectively.
- Track record of completing assigned tasks effectively.
- Showing communication skills to understand the needs and requirements of clients
- Should be able to follow verbal and written instructions effectively which is important for the organisation to let staffs effectively (Recruiting and Hiring Resources for Employers, 2017).

KPIs or Key Performance Indicators are important for the work related goals especially to achieve those goals successfully. The different key performance indicators chosen are discussed below:

For a cleaner it is important to make sure that the cleaning job is done effectively as well as the customer service provided is the best and hence for that it is important for me to choose the best two goals which would be suitable for me to make work plans effectively. Working in groups and teams is also a tough job due to the presence of different mindsets and understandings and hence it is important for me to also choose team work as another key work goal that I need to develop. The work related goals are chosen assessing the importance of them. It could be said that as for an employee the first priority is customer service and hence the customer service is chosen as one of the key work goals and on the other hand as teamwork is highlighted to be an important aspect here in Absolute Domestic teamwork is considered as another key work related goal that needs to planned properly. Therefore thee work related goals chosen are customer service and team work. It is expected that these work related goals will be effective for me as well as the team in order to attain the best possible result.

The company envisions itself to be respected and recognised through effective customer service and affordable cleaning service. In order to achieve its vision the organisation focuses on developing a strong connection with the services provided to the consumers and the impact created on the environment. The organisation is highly focused on using organic products to provide the cleaning services as well as wants its employees to constantly learn and develop their cleaning skills staying with the organisation allowing the company to make its consumers happy and satisfied.
Roles and Responsibilities of a Cleaner
Organisational Policies
- The cleaners recruited are mostly for the domestic housecleaning works and hence the recruitment is followed by background check, screening and supported by references.
- The organisation has effective privacy policy and collects, keeps and stores information and keeps it private.
- The organisation follows the health and safety at work act and the equality and no discrimination policies applied by the government effectively in order to provide effective health and safety and equal opportunities to both thee genders male and female.
- The organisation has an effective financial policy as if the consumer is unhappy there is a scope for replacement of money or the cleaner.
- Absolute guarantee of quality service.
- The organisation also has the policy for the domestic household in order to cover cleaner insurance for smooth service.
- Police clearance check is the new policy that the company has added to its long list of policies which mandates the fact of having a complete background check from the local police for every newly recruited cleaner.
- The organisation follows the privacy act in order to protect the privacy of the information.
Procedures
- The organisation applies a stringent recruitment process to have the best possible employees.
- The cross check on the background is done in order to make sure safety and security is applied.

The organisation could provide services individually or in a group format. Given the size of the project the organisation allots team or individuals for the cleaning operations. It is important for the organisation to make sure that the quality service is provided and hence the organisation has implemented the policy of money back or replacement which has helped to reduce cleaning errors and have helped the employees to do their job in the best possible way. The organisation has also been able to maintain a string quality check through its constant assessment of different employees which has helped the organisation to make sure the cleaning services are effective and the company receives less negative feedbacks and refunds or replacements.
- It is extremely important to set team goals and personal goals. In the present study I have developed team goals and personal goals because they are integral part of a person’s work life and development of team goals and personal goals would definitely develop the skills and capabilities of the worker and the team as well. In this case the personal goals set are extremely important in the context of developing me as a cleaner as well as a team player. The personal goals set all reflect the importance of learning while working and hence will be highly effective for me to develop my career as a cleaner and will also help me to quickly move up the corporate ladder. All the personal goals reflect my interests at the workplace.
The personal goals developed by me show that I am largely interested in developing my skills and competencies as a cleaner and I strongly feel achieving these goals will help me to motivate myself and also the team I am working with. As in the cleaning business especially for Absolute Domestic, cleaning service quality is of utmost importance and hence I have focused on making this as my personal goal. Once I acquire service skills I will have to be complying with the different standards set by the company in order to provide the best possible service to the consumers which are one of the main focuses of a cleaner rather to say of an employee. Apart from that communication skills are extremely important for every employee and hence it makes in my priority list without any question. In the team goals I focus on making effective relationship as without effective relations teams wouldn’t be able to work properly and hence having an effective professional relation is extremely important for me and the other team members and hence this becomes a priority in the team goals list.
To learn constantly is always important and together of we learn we will be able to perform together and hence this is why it becomes another priority. As a cleaner it is important to constantly communicate with the consumers as well as the team members to understand what exactly needs to be done and how it needs to be done and for this effective learning with the help of the team is extremely important. Peer review and assessment is the best possible to way to develop the skills and competencies of the fellow cleaners and hence after the completion of every task it is the time to sit back and analyse each other which would help to make sure we are able to identify mistakes and also able to draw proper alternatives in order to provide the best possible services to the consumers which is done along with the constant development that is being made within me as a cleaner and hence this also makes the priority list. Overall it could be said that analysing these key factors have helped to enlist the team and the personal goals for me.
- The KPIs will be used to measure the performance of the team as well as the individuals through effective assessment. The KPIs are kept as the benchmark which I will use as in order to assess myself with them and understand how things have changed or whether they have changed at all or not. Similarly for the team work the KPIs will work as a benchmark which would help the organisation to develop an effective strategy that will help to improve team work. The KPI developed for the activity of customer service is standardised service for the development of the service provision procedure and this clearly helps the organisation to assess the services provided to see whether the services have matched the standard levels or not. In cases of varying conditions and contingencies it becomes important for the cleaners and the team members to alter things and divided work among them which would help to complete the task effectively. For example if there is a lack of team members in a particular task it becomes important to analyse the needs of the house and accordingly serve the priorities first. In order to maintain work performance it is important to continuously assess the skills and capabilities (Newell et al., 2009).

For every individual and organisations it is important to have focus and for a cleaning service like Absolute Domestic customer service is the most essential. For me as a cleaner both customer service provision and working in teams stand out as they are the two key aspects in operating in these kinds of organisation. Since customer service is given utmost important it is kept in the priorities as this is likely to bring business to the organisation. Effective customer service is important for the organisation as it will help to manage the business and gain competitive advantage in the market. On the other hand efficient workforce could be analysed with their capacity of working in a team and hence it is also kept as a priority in the list. When the employees are happy with each other the business is likely to grow and hence teamwork is another key priority considered in this study. Effective customer service is only possible when the employees are qualified enough to understand the work effectively as well as do it positively within a short period of time and this is why efficient workers working in a group likely to manage time of the organisation successfully (Parmenter, 2015).
To work as a role model it is important for me to set examples for others by doing the work of cleaning in a systematic manner and also by educating people about the finer intricacies of cleaning not only to the consumers but also to the team members. It is important for me to abide and conform to the different laws and standards set by the company which would help me to make sure team members learn from me and implement the same thing successfully. Maintaining personal performance and also assisting teams and taking added responsibilities will definitely encourage team members. Understanding and communicating the different issues of the team members and helping them to address those as a mentor will help me to work as a role and contribute to the overall development of the team.
Maintaining work life balance and stress could be done by:
- Taking flexible shifts in non-pressure situations
- Going for small vacations, outings with family, friends and even colleagues
- Always trying to be calm by doing Yoga and exercises will help to regulate BMR and develop pressure absorbing capacities.
- Having healthy food and enjoying life with everyone is the key to having work life balance and releasing stress (Wiese, 2015).
There are number of key learning styles which could be implemented on people. For me the Honey and Mumford Learning style that helps to learn by reflecting and observing would work. I am a quick learner and hence I observe faster and this will help me to learn effectively. it will also help to make sure I am also able to reflect from my mistakes and learn accordingly (Schmeck, 2013).
In order to improve personal performance the time management skills, problem solving skills and thee communication skills are extremely important for me. The analytical skills and negotiation skills are effective in helping to develop an effective bonding with the team which is also an extremely important thing in team work (MacDonald et al., 2010).
