Christopher Paolini was born on November 17, 1983 in Southern California. He was homeschooled by his parents, and at the age of fifteen, he completed his first novel, Eragon. The book was originally self-published by Paolini International LLC in 2002, and was re-published by Knopf Books for Young Readers in 2003. Paolini’s second book, Eldest, was published in 2005, and Brisingr, the third book in the Inheritance Cycle, was published in 2008. The fourth and final book in the series, Inheritance, was published in 2011.
Paolini’s novels have been translated into over forty languages, and have sold over 35 million copies worldwide. The Inheritance Cycle has been adapted into a film series, with the first movie, Eragon, being released in 2006.
Paolini currently resides in Montana with his family.
