Aldi and Wesfarmers’ Business Model
According to Drucker (2017), the business-to-business model (B2B) is a situation in which one business organisation makes a commercial transaction with another organisation. The B2B model often collides with the systems that involved in the B2C model. In this case, study the focus is on the two B2B companies such as Aldi and Wesfarmers that strive to be the best B2C companies in Australia. Both the companies are registered in the websites under its own name for the convenience of the customers. To access the organisations using online mode, customers need to type in the required URL (Refer to appendix 1 for screenshots of homepage and URL).
The reason behind Aldi and Wesfarmers belonging to this model is that both companies focus on enhancing their business by establishing trade relations with one another. The production process of both the companies is such that they provide the required operational reasons for the existence of the business.
Aldi and Wesfarmers are both successful organisations in the retail business store; however, it is important for both the companies to develop coordination with the customers as well to remain competitive in the business. Hence, it is necessary that the companies maintain coordination with one another as well as the customers.
The business goal of the website of Aldi is to provide users with an opportunity to understand the business of the company. It provides customers with the knowledge about the things that can be purchased from the store and the relative costs of these products Aldi.com.au 2018).

Aldi and Wesfarmers’ Websites
The mother website of Wesfarmers provide all the necessary information regarding the operations of the business organisation and it can be said that the interested individuals can browse through the website and can get a compact idea of the functions of the company. On the other hand, the website of Aldi gives a detailed idea to the customers regarding their operations. In the website of Aldi, it is elaborately described the products they sell and the information regarding the products, which are on sale, is mentioned on the website.
For the purchasing procedure, the organisations can ask for the credit or debit cards number of the target customers or those who are willing to buy their products online. It can be said that for the online transactions, the demand for the card numbers and other important documents has become necessary to assess whether the customer is genuine or not. In this regard, it can be said that it should be the responsibility of the management of the organisation to keep the information of the secret of the customers so that any other individual cannot use them for any other purpose.
The management of both the organisations Aldi and Wesfarmers can use the technology used by Amazon to protect the documents of the customers. They should blend AI (Artificial Intelligence) along with the cloud storage to secure the data provided by the customers. They can use software that can automatically classify, identify and protect the data provided by the customers of the organisations.
As both the websites of Aldi and Wesfarmers are safe and secure for providing the necessary bank information of the target customers and both the websites provide detailed information regarding the products they are willing to sell, naturally, that can potentially build trust in the minds of their target customers. Not only that on both the websites there is detailed information regarding the discounts and associated packages, and they ensure that the customers would not have to bare any hidden costs. These are the reasons that build trust in the minds of the customers for both the organisations.
The management of both the organisations made it clear in their websites that any kinds of fraudulent acts committed by the customers in the online transactions will bring in legal consequences and if the customers face any types of discrepancies in the online transaction. They are free to seek legal help against the management of the two organisations and if guilty, the management will take full responsibility for it
Purchasing Process of Aldi and Wesfarmers
The business organisations like Wesfarmers and Aldi generally provides all the necessary information prior the purchasing of the products and provides assistance until the time of delivery of the goods. Apart from that, the management of both the organisations provides excellent after sales service to their customers that increase their reputation in the market.
Both the business organisations use English, as the language in their mother websites and that has been successful so far to meet up the cultural needs of the customers because they operate in nations where the general population understands English. In a majority of those nations, people are English speaking and apart from this, in few other countries, the target customers have the ability to communicate in English.
The websites of Aldi and Wesfarmers provide the necessary information that the customers generally require so that the customers do not get into any confusion prior to the time of purchase and after the purchasing. Wesfarmers website has a huge reputation in this regard, on the other hand, there were some issues on the website of Aldi, but that has been taken care of in recent times.
The website of Aldi allows the organisation to make necessary customization as per the requirements of the customers, but for easing the process, the management of Wesfarmers does not allow their customers to customize the orders. This aspect of the website of Wesfarmers somewhat displeases the customers, but the management of the organisation stated that they maintain this to sustain the quality and speed of the delivery of products.
Whenever a customer purchases something from their websites, both the organisations email a feedback form to that customer to gather their views on the dealing in order to improve their process of the business and to identify any area of improvement. This is a brilliant strategy to improve taken by the management of both the organisations.
Both the organisations Wesfarmers and Aldi has kept a provision where the customers can get a 24*7 and apart from that if they experience any issues regarding purchasing or after purchasing, they can leave messages and the organisation will proactively answer the question of the customer.
Both the companies provide extensive details about the products and services that they offer. Details about the organisation such as location, aim and objectives are also provided. However, the only difference is that Wesfarmers provide users with an opportunity to know about the current news of the organisation whereas such an option is not present in the case of Aldi.
After-sales Service and Customer Feedback
In the case of Aldi and Wesfarmers, both the websites provide opportunities for users to gain relevant information about the organisations. The information can be easily read as they are brief and provide accurate information for the users. Another reason behind the easy readability of information is due to the excellent colour contrast that is provided.
In the case of Aldi, the website is easy to navigate, as the information is present on the home page itself. Relevant picture related to various categories are present which help customers to understand the navigation process in an easy manner.
However, in the case of Wesfarmers, users have to search the home page for the relevant category of information. The payment and online ordering methods are complicated as the users have to type in the words at the search option provided at the website.
The target audience for both Wesfarmers and Aldi are the common people indulged in purchasing daily usable products in the business. Hence, the website layout along with colours and images provide target market with an opportunity to view the websites properly. The use of colours in the layout and for words provides users with an opportunity to understand the information provided on the website without any difficulty.
The websites provide users to create communities due to the differences of opinion. The communities are formed due to the product quality and the loyalty of the customers. However, none of the websites promotes the formation of communities. This is mainly because of the fact that both companies maintain a business-to-business relation with one another and competition is required for it to succeed in the competitive market (Kopla, Kloppenberg and Stephen 2014).
The best feature of the websites is that they fit into any type of browser with the intention of providing information to the customers. Every browser that is required for accessing the website can load the websites at a quick time. The links and embedded options work in an effective manner so that people browsing the websites via net get a similar experience as when they do it from computers.
In the modern world, it is necessary that every website be accessible from mobile phones mainly because people like to shop while travelling on road (Trimble 2017). The mobile applications support all the browsers that are required for accessing the website. Hence, it can be said that Wesfarmers and Aldi provide many opportunities to the customers to engage in online shopping from different platforms.
Target Audience and Website Design
Aldi provides sufficient payments so that customers can choose the method of payment by analysing the advantages and disadvantages. The online payment method normally needs to have an option for credit card purchase for the effective transaction of money. However, in the case of Wesfarmers, the company does not have such provisions as not many opportunities are provided to the customers to make payment. This makes it difficult for customers to order online.
Both websites do not provide sufficient range of delivery options to ease the frustration of the customers. The mode of delivery that the customers prefer cannot be accessed directly from the website. Thus, both the websites of Aldi and Wesfarmers possess this huge drawback. Thus, it is important for the companies to ensure that this drawback is taken care of for the satisfaction of the customers.
Thus, after comparing both websites, it is seen that Wesfarmers is better than Aldi. This is mainly because Wesfarmers provide opportunities for customers to interact with the business organisation and provide comprehensive yet knowledgeable details about the website. Although on most occasions, it is seen that both the websites are on par with one another. However, due to certain factors such as providing useful information and relevant product information makes Wesfarmers gain an advantage over Aldi in this department. Thus, despite being similar in the business scenario, certain attributes contribute to the rise of Wesfarmers over Aldi in the Australian market (Refer to appendix 2 for a tabular form of comparison).
