Project Title, Researchers, and Contacts
Objectives
The main objective of this project is to determine the intensity of credit card anomalies and provide possible solutions on the same. The project will gather data from members of the public and then analyze it to determine the best course as part of the solution.
Methods
The data collection methods will be questionnaires, and both online and telephone interviews. Both the questionnaires and the interviews will have open-ended questions regarding participants’ experience on credit card anomalies.
Expected Outcome
The expected outcome of this project is to gather vital data that will be used to address the issue of credit card anomalies.
Data to be collected
The data to be collected is the frequencies of credit card anomalies from specific banks as well as the associated risks. The research will also seek to establish if there is a particular time of the day or a specific day, that the frequency of credit card anomalies is high.
How data will be processed
The data collected will be processed anonymously using various suitable data processing tools and software.
Minimizing The Risks
Possible risks
There is no potential physical harm to the participants. Also, research moderators are at no risk of any physical harm. However, the data to be collected is very sensitive and can be used maliciously to harm the participants. Mostly, it can be used by malicious people to harm the participants financially. Also, it can be to damage the reputation of the financial institution affiliated to the credit cards in question. Further, the participant’s relationship with their banks can be damaged if their identity is revealed.
In an attempt to mitigate the identified risks, the research has recommended the following. First, before issuing the questionnaires or reading out the questions, the research moderators will enlighten the participants on what information they are not supposed to disclose. Secondly, the research moderators are instructed and expected to adhere to the research guidelines strictly. Ideally, they are expected to stick to the outlined questions and gather the relevant information only. Markedly, in any research, it is paramount to inform the participants of all the possible risks and how they will be mitigated. They should be well-informed before they give their consent (Jull et al., 2018, p.45).
- Obtain Informed Consent
Project explanation
This research is furthered by (name) to determine the frequencies of credit card anomalies from the various banks (lists). The research also aims at assessing the risks associated with these anomalies.
Upon agreeing to participate, the participants will answer several open-ended questions at their own convenient time. The participants are requested to be precise with the information they will provide. Markedly, they are not supposed to reveal their identities or their credit card information like passwords. Most importantly, the participants are not at any point required to produce their cards.
Project Summary and Objectives
What will the participant gain from participating in the research?
By answering the research questions, you will provide this research with the necessary information to redress the problem of credit anomalies. Primarily, your information will be used to address the issues related to credit card anomalies.
The information you’ll give us will be used in this research only for analysis purposes. However, it might be aggregated anonymously to publish scholarly articles.
What are the potential risks of participating in this project?
There are no potential physical risks in answering the questions. However, there is a risk of losing your funds should your bank information reach malicious people. Therefore, we are strongly urging you not to disclose your identity and any personal banking information that could jeopardize your account. Kindly stick to the research questions.
The project will gather information through questionnaires, where participants will be required to answer the stipulated open-ended questions. Also, online and telephone interviews will be conducted where all participants will be required to answer open-ended questions. Notably, all the information will be collected anonymously. Markedly, it is essential to inform the participant how the project will be conducted for them to confirm whether they will participate (Drake and Rancilio, 2017, pp.174-187). Basically, they are supposed to be informed about their roles.
Who is conducting the study?

Certification By Participants
I hereby confirm I am at least eighteen years, and I have voluntarily accepted to participate in this research, Detecting Anomaly In Credit Cards.
I also certify the risks associated with the research have been explicitly explained to me, and I have been provided with the Information To Participants Involved In RESEARCH form regarding the same.
I also certify that I fully understand that I have the right to withdraw from this research at any point should I decide not to continue or when the research violates the terms explained in the Information To Participants Involved In Research form. Also, I fully understand my withdrawal will not have any implications for me.
I also confirm that all my questions regarding the project have been answered satisfactorily, and I don’t have anything else to be clarified.
I have been informed that the information I will provide will be kept confidential, and it will be used anonymously.
How will data be de-identified?
All the participants’ data will be de-identified through Heuristic Methods of De-identification. Specifically, for online and telephone interviews, data will de-identified through the generation of variables and the creation of de-identified data sets for the questionnaires. Data de-identification is paramount in any sensitize researches, more importantly it reduces chances of biasedness (Patten, 2016)
How will data be kept?
The data will be kept in recordings for the telephone interviews, the questionnaires booklets, and for the online interviews, the data will be preserved in the research database.
Who will access the data?
The data will only be accessed by only authorized personnel tasked to analyze it.
How will results be published?
The results will be published as anonymously aggregated Data.
For moderators to obtain accurate and relevant data for the research, moderations may provide participants with the information they deem necessary. However, this information should not put the participant at any risk in any way. Further, moderators must record and submit that information to the analysts. At this phase of research or any other phase, participants may withdraw from the research without any consequence. Notably, deception of participants is done when the feedback is not satisfactory; primarily it’s done to retrieve relevant information from the participants (Resnik and McCann, 2015, pp.1192-1193).
At any given phase, the participants have the right to withdrawal from research without any consequence. Should the participants opt to withdraw, whether compelled by any circumstances or not, they will do so without any consequences.
