Procedure for improving the construction of the park
“The effective construction plan can be developed by focusing on systematic collection of data for reviewing the requirement of the construction site” (Crompton, 2013). The assessment of data helps in continuous improvement of construction site by removing the flaws of the construction plan. “The assessment of activities helps in setting objective for the construction site by focusing on the requirement specification plan of the organization” (Xiang, 2015). “The continuous improvement cycle is composed of activities like setting and refining the objective of the construction site, analysing the requirement specification plan and data collected by utilizing the research methodologies (Gaye, 2012), decision making program for enhancing the construction activities which is capable of building high level design for the construction site, and last is the comparison of output with expectation for future enhancement.
“The structured approach should be used for developing the construction plan for the construction site which is composed of activities like establish the objective of the organization, establish goal for the deployment of continuous improvement plan, strategy for continual improvement of the construction plan, managing the learning and training and development program, and management and reviewing of processes” (Finnemore, 2015). The senior management is responsible for establishing vision for the construction plan to improve the strategy for developing path in the park, the employees should be motivated to achieve the target within specified time and budget allocated alignment of the responsibilities and processes for overcoming the problem of conflict and chaos, and others. “The continual management program is responsible for setting priorities for increasing the performance of the construction plan” (Carver, 2012). The time, material, and equipment should be provided to the team members for the continual improvement of the project, organizing the work for improving the performance of the project team, and the improvement plan should be used for monitoring the progress. The communication flow should be maintained with the internal and external parties for removing the unwanted activities from the activity chart. “The proactive analysis should be done for the assessment of construction plan” (Gamble, 2016).
The step should be taken for identifying and implementing the changes required in the construction of the pathway which is used to connect different facilities of the park together. The standard of policies should be followed for analysing the changes required in the system. The construction policies should be revised according to the standards of 2018 for establishing review of the construction plan. The flow of communication helps in improving the performance of the reporting system to bring required changes in the designing of the park. The activities of the construction domain should be aligned with the budget schedule of the organization. “The internal control plan should be used for managing the correct review of the current scenario so that right step can be taken to redesign the path for increasing the beautification and connectivity of the park” (Perkins, 2012). The long term construction plan is developed by analysing the financial condition of the company. The enterprise resource planning should be used for the evaluation and enhancement of the construction plan. “The activities which are associated with the success of the construction plan are considered as managing meeting with the contractor and the vendor, efficient utilization of resources, and the services should be implemented with the minimum cost of the project” (Ashworth, 2013).
Initiatives for improving the construction operations
The following changes are required for improving the construction plan of the given scenario of developing the path in the park.
Particulars |
Explanation |
The technologies used for improving the construction operation |
“The web-based technologies are used for bringing revolution in the construction of the park” (Xia, 2010). It helps in managing the inventory and the building material received from the supplier and helps to avoid the condition of overflow and underflow which can be the reason for delay of the project. E-Purchasing: “The E-purchasing is the recommended application for purchasing of the inventory from the supplier” (Tollen, 2012). The delivery of the material is on the construction site which helps in managing time for inventory. The online ordering of material to the supplier helps in reducing the transaction processing of the cost. Smart inventory control system: The profitability of the organization can be improved by maintaining the level of inventory to overcome the problem of underflow and overflow condition. |
Reviewing of existing procedures |
“The process of construction plan should be revised according to the standards 2018 for establishing review of the construction plan” (Garry, 2015). The plan should be developed for designing the effective path in the park which is capable of connecting different facilities provided by the park. The accurate mapping should be done for maintaining the material flow and construction plan. The path should be constructed in such a way that it is capable of providing links to the different activities and facilities provided to user of the park. |
Deployment of continuous improvement plan |
The construction improvement plan should be developed by analysing the activities involved by the competitors to develop better beautification of the park, weaknesses and strength of the construction plan, regeneration of the policies according to the current construction policies framework, suggestion platform for improvement in future, breakthroughs for improving the facilities of the parks, and others. “The construction plan should be developed by focusing on the objective and specification requirement plan” (Banaitis, 2014). |
“The factors which are responsible for improving the construction plan for the development of path in the park are analysing the revenue and profit of the construction organization, procedures used for managing the operational cost of the project” (Wuest, 2014), availability of resources, requirement specification plan of the user, management of inventories, and others. “The fundamental building blocks for improving the construction plan are management of processes, operation of processes, and maintenance of operation” (Serpell, 2011).
The table below shows the improvement plan for constructing the path in the park.
Particulars |
Description |
Planning and analysing of construction activities |
The skilled and potential staff and labour is required to complete the construction plan. Set up for managing investigative task force for carrying out the construction activities. Service area should be clearly analysed for the deployment of activities related to construction plan of the park. The objective of the construction plan depends on the management, operation, and maintenance process for the efficient development of the path in the park. The strength and weakness of the construction plan should be analysed for overcoming the flaws of the construction plan. The construction plan should be developed after doing SWOT of the park. |
Governing structure for the development of construction plan |
Resources and inventory should be effectively used The activities should be carried out within the structure of governing policies. The roles and responsibilities should be divided among the tea member “The construction plan should be developed by analysing the policies related to finance, personnel, volunteer, quality assurance standards, maintenance, and controls” (Miyagawa, 2013) |
Improving the potential of the team members |
The enthusiastic labour is always well-efficient for carrying out the constructing activities effectively without delaying the project. Clear definition of the task provided to the team members Management of overflow ad underflow condition of inventory “The skills of the team members can be improved by organizing the training and development program so that the construction of the path should be done accordingly to the design and get the output as expected” (Drew, 2015). “New and efficient staff and labour should be adopted for achieving the objective of the construction plan” (Mishra, 2016) |
Analysis of the financial condition of the organization |
Clear statement of scope and objective Designing of activity plan according to the requirement specification plan of the construction In flow and out flow of the cash should be maintained The budget should be prepared according to the construction plan. Resources and inventory should be effectively used “The activities should be carried out within the structure of governing policies” (Gore, 2012). |
Management of communication flow with internal and external parties |
The objective should be developed for constructing the path within the boundary of the park Identifying the end user of the park “Communication channels should be maintained with internal and external parties to take suggestions for the future improvement in the park” (Erik, 2015) Management of inventory Minimizing the cost with the effective utilization of resources, labour, and the staff members |
The owner of the park should provide the clear requirement specification plan. The construction company should estimate the budget required to fulfil the plan. The inspection of the activities helps in resolving the flaws in the construction plan and set it for execution to fulfil the requirement of the park owner.
Conclusion:
The proactive analysis should be done for the assessment of construction plan. The improvement of the construction plan is used for managing accurate mapping with the outcome of the plan and expectation of the end user. The fundamental building blocks for improving the construction plan are management of processes, operation of processes, and maintenance of operation. The skills of the team members can be improved by organizing the training and development program so that the construction of the path should be done accordingly to the design and get the output as expected. The plan should be developed for designing the effective path in the park which is capable of connecting different facilities provided by the park.
