Project Portfolio
The purpose of this report is to develop a portfolio of evidence through utilizing various activities and methodologies such as identification of the market, analyzing problems in the current scenario, critical thinking and many academic researches and academics. A student society has been proposed for building a better society that will be responsible for delivering qualified and high quality academics among the GSM students. The delivery of the event will be proposed through utilizing EMBOK model that focuses on three crucial objectives including creating, developing, and delivering the event of organizing and building the student society. Proper planning, analysis and managerial or leadership skill will be needed to host the event successfully including the framework of the EMBOK that mainly focuses on the phases, processes, core values, and domains in relation to the project being delivered.
This report emphasizes on the identification of the methods and processes those are capable of delivering the event in successful manner. Issues and risks are major point of concern for this report in manner to identify and eliminate the issues and solving the problems, those might affect the delivery of the project influencing its qualities and constraints in negative manner. The student society will be helpful in providing better options for the GSM students and helping them to accomplish better and higher grades in the academics along with the concept of learning knowledge and skills. Market analysis and proposed planning will be helpful in delivering the objectives of the project.
The project is all about creating a student society that can boost the personal development of the individuals through gaining extra knowledge from experienced players in the same field. It will be an attempt of providing the facilities that can enhance the development practice, personal growth, and motivation towards reaching the objectives and goals in the life. The data and information collected through the market research will be helpful in delivering and setting goals of the project. Society has been affecting the capacity and capability of the students learning in the GSM however, approach will be to bring up the members from the same society those can contribute in the development of the individuals studying at GSM.
The solution for the identified problem is the development of a student society that can contribute in the development of the students and motivate them towards accomplishing the better activities those can lead them to a successful life living.
Background and Context of the Project
Firstly, primary data analysis will be executed for the consideration of the aspects related to the needs and requirements of the users. It will also helpful in identifying how effective could it be propose the solution for the identified problem. Stakeholders are overall the point of concern and output will be considering the beneficial results for the Gallup strength model will be utilized for the accomplishment and delivery of the project’s goals and objectives. This will be helpful in setting the positive goals and positive mindset for the delivery of the project considering the identification of the weaknesses and strengths of the team being developed for the execution of the project.
Following are the crucial phases those needs to be accomplished in manner to successfully host the event and accomplish all the constraints of the project in an efficient and effective manner. The sequential execution and completion of the following activities will be helpful in accomplishing the goals and objectives of the event being proposed:
Project Planning – It can be stated as the most crucial aspect of the overall project as it emphasizes on the determination of all the objectives and circumstances those might affect the delivery and execution of the project. It also includes the execution of the market analysis focusing the problems and identifying the solutions, those might be helpful in meeting the needs and requirements of the stakeholders. The major identified course in this phase is the identification of the problems and issues those might hold the project from being a successful efficient event.
Project Initiation – This is the phase followed after the planning considering the initiation of the objectives related to the project those are necessary and crucial for laying path of the project. It includes the presentation of the proposal and draft, identification of the goals and objectives, estimation of the budget, market analysis, identification of the resources and solutions those could fulfil the needs and requirements of the customers, schedule and risks, and many more those should be stated clearly in the beginning of the project. In this phase, the project is initiated and preparatory works are started.
Project Execution – The objective of executing the above two phases is to start the work on the execution of the project as the planning has been successfully delivered and it is the time to implement the findings and results those have been identified during the initiation phase. The crucial aspects of the project delivery will be identified in this section considering the budget, schedule and accomplishment of the activities as the successful delivery of these constraints will be determining the quality of the project.
Models and Theories Used in Analysis
Project Closing – In this phase, the project documentation is prepared and then reviewed by the project manager. Once satisfactory results are gained, the stakeholders sign off and the project manager closes the project officially.
It is to be hereby noted that these phases of the project must be executed in the right order by linking the work packages with each other in order to complete the project effectively and successfully. For this particular project on focus, the project schedule is shown in the following table including the stakeholders assigned and the estimated costs for each of the work packages.

Many challenges and problems were encountered while working on the project of developing a student network society however; that resulted in the positive manner as I developed many skills those will be helpful in delivering the future projects successfully. These knowledge and skills helped me in generating following personal development skills:
Technical Knowledge application: I identified that for the successful accomplishment and delivery of the project, theoretical knowledge is not enough in technical aspects as the scenario keeps changing as we proceed with the project. However, I took this project as a lesson and tried to gather technical knowledge as much possible ad implemented them in the present and future projects. Completely relying on the theoretical knowledge could never led to the accomplishment of the project in successful manner as proper decision-making is needed in the context of the changes arising during the growth and development of the project.
Team Work: Working alone could never result in a beneficial manner, as it is a crucial aspect to consider as many aspects as much possible and stick with the plan. Team is always comprised of individuals from different backgrounds and different skills and thus, innovative and creative ideas are always encountered during the execution and development of the project. It is an essential factor to work and collaborate within the team and manage them is the biggest challenge. I tried to manage the team members within the team and kept the conflicts miles away from the project.
Ability to Identify Problems – I passed this major quality during the development of the project as I identified many problems those had restricted me in delivering the objectives and scope of the project. It is very often visible that individuals fail to pick out the exact trouble and apply any remedial measures that do not have an effect on the real hassle in any way. I had embraced my quality of problem identification and their prioritization as per the need of the project.
Project Phases and their Effectiveness
In-Depth Knowledge of the Solution – Some other are not unusual trouble observed in the course of the projects is that the individuals recognize the answer to a trouble however does now not recognize to use the identical efficaciously in an effort to cope with the problem. I was nicely handling the problems encountered during the execution and therefore, earlier than the challenge, I evaluated feasible challenges and troubles and studied their possible answers therefore. This helped me to use solutions to the troubles correctly without dropping an awful lot time or resources.
It was also a crucial objective to identify which action should be taken and which should not be taken and I considered it as a crucial objective for the development and execution of the project.
Actions Taken – the primary activity was to execute the market analysis in manner to identify the needs and requirements of the targeted customers those were the students of the GSM University. In manner to solve the problem identified in relation to the studies and personal development of the students, I proposed the above option as a solution and consulted with my team members on whether it would be helpful for delivering the project or not.
Actions Not Taken – I had not executed the project unless the scope and objective for the delivery of the project was very clear, that resulted in positive manner as the identified objectives, and scopes were the center of concern during the overall execution of the project.
Practical skills and knowledge were gathered during and after the development and execution of the project that will be helpful in the present and future scenarios of my life. List of the skills developed can be listed as:
Project Management Skills – I was well introduced with the theoretical knowledge of the project management however; this project helped me in realizing the concept of the project management in the real world.
Value of Team Work – Team and their contribution in the development and growth of the project plays very crucial role in delivering the positive outcomes from the project. It helped in tackling with the problems encountered and introducing creative and innovative approaches for the project.
Time Management Skills – There are various activities involved during hosting an event like this and time should be managed according to the left and activities done. There should be a routine for the delivery of the project and activities as enlisted in the above activity diagram.
Conclusion
It can be concluded that for the project would not be successful without having proper knowledge and skills necessary for the execution of the project. I had developed many skills and knowledge and it can be stated that practical experience is never been the same as that of the theoretical knowledge. However, it is very crucial to consider the theoretical steps for the delivery of the project as it would have never been started if I had not any theoretical knowledge about the management of hosting.
