Project Overview
Information System is becoming an important part of the organizations in present time. Companies are working towards to develop an effective information system with the effect of which work of the company could be processed in a smooth way. Sainsbury is a company which is working towards to develop an effective communication system with the help of which it will be able to manage the flow of information. The communication system of Sainsbury on which it is planning to work will help the project manager in processing the work within the deadlines and with quality. It also provides access to the employees in making an effective set of decisions related to the work process and provides a support to develop an effective set of the plan in relation to project progress. Hence, a report is developed which will cover all the aspects of the project planned by Sainsbury to be applied at the workplace. The project developed will provide an effective support system for Sainsbury and will help the company in managing the work process and completing the project within the due date and budget.
The aim of the project is to develop an Information System for Sainsbury which will help it in managing its flow of communication and keeping a track record on all the activities of the employees working in it. The proposed project will be completed in 3 Months. Developing a proper communication system is not an easy task as it requires lots of coding and planning. The proposed project will help Information System in enhancing its productivity by 20% by the year 2018. The information system project will also help in reducing the processing time of the work by 30%. This time will help in producing more and saving money with the effect of which company will be able to sustain in the market and will attain competitive advantage in the market.
Functional Requirements
Functional requirement of the project is to ensure that appropriate techniques and methodologies should be applied at the project. It will help the project manager in managing all the activities in a proper way.
A time plan will be developed by the project manager with which a Gantt chart will be developed.
The Gantt chart developed will help the project management team in providing a graphical presentation of the project.
A cost-benefit analysis will help the project management team in evaluating the cost of the project and will help the same in evaluating the return on the investment made by the company.
Project Management Plan
There are a certain set of nonfunctional requirements which are attached to the project. These nonfunctional requirements will help the project manager in evaluating the theoretical aspects related to the project. Therefore the nonfunctional requirements of the project are:
Performance requirement in which performance of the team and the project will be evaluated; this will help in evaluating project progress and will help in managing the project in an effective way.
All the safety requirements related to the project will also be evaluated and all the aspects which could help in keeping the project team and project safe will be applied.
The team plays a very vital role in managing a project. It is necessary that the project manager should hire recruit an appropriate number of the team members who could provide an effective set of support in managing the project. To manage the project a team of 5 members will be developed. The team will have a proper and effective set of knowledge of all the technical aspects. They will be able to develop a proper coding for the project which will help Sainsbury in managing its communication system in a proper way.
Project Title: Developing an Information System for Sainsbury
Project requirement: The project is initiated so as to provide a relevant set of support to the company. Developing an information system project is a crucial task but with the application of an effective and appropriate set of tools and techniques assurance will be made that the project will get completed within the required deadlines.
Project Scheduling: Project scheduling will be done in which bifurcation of every single activity will be done in a proper way. A proper time will be allotted to each and every activity of the project. Scheduling will also help in developing a work Breakdown structure and a Gantt chart.
Team Management: Proper number of team members will be hired by the project manager so as to ensure that the project requirements could get fulfilled in a proper way.
Project Budget: Cost-benefit analysis will be done so as to ensure that a relevant set of the budget could be prepared and return on investment and break-even analysis could be done.
Project Closure: After completion of the project it will be terminated and assurance will be made that all the aspect related to the project should be rechecked and all the gaps and loops should be evaluated and removed.
Scope and Objectives
The scope of the project is to evaluate all the aspects which could help in determining and evaluating the requirements of the project and completing the same within the deadlines. The project initiated will help Sainsbury in making the work process easy and more effective. It will also help the company in managing its progress and will help the same in attain success in the market.
Resource Needs of the Project
To manage the project it is required that a project manager should work towards to use an effective set of Software which could help in developing an appropriate communication system.
A team of 5 members
Microsoft Project
5 systems on which the team members will work
Break-even will occur in 3 years 48 days
Return on investment evaluated is 0.26%
To manage the quality of the project appropriate set of tools and techniques will be used by the project manager. All set of requirements of the project will be evaluated which will help in maintaining the quality. MS project is the tool which is being used by the project manager so as to ensure that the quality of the project could be maintained and the same could get completed within the required deadlines and budget (Lock, 2013).

Conclusion And Recommendation
At the end, it could be concluded that the project proposed by Sainsbury is really effective and will help the project manager in managing the communication system of Sainsbury. It is necessary that a project manager should have critical thinking skills with the effect of which assurance could be made that every single activity of the project could be included in the project. It could also be included that a project manager should indulge in proper planning so that work related to the project could be processed in a set direction and assurance of success could be made.
There are a certain set of aspects which could be recommended to the company:
Innovation is the main aspect which should be focused upon
Developing a proper plan will provide an effective set of support to the project manager
Estimation of every single activity should be done in a proper way so that project could get completed within the due dates and deadlines.
