Literature Review
Information Technology platforms have become increasingly important to the business world where it has provided value creation in various aspects of the industry as well as daily life. The project for developing an Information Technology platform for Elite Diagnostic Solutions that would provide a knowledge base to the automotive industry, which would help people within the industry by making them assess their own level of capacity (Sun, Gregor and Keating 2016). This has been done to hold the data or record for the people within the automotive industry about their capability to handle an automobile effectively or not. The Information Technology platform developed on the context had followed the requirements as included in the research proposal. This project report acts as the final version of the project of the project.
Thus, the following project report would include the comparison between the estimated idea and the project development that has been achieved so far. The report will have the development process depicted as a whole experience throughout the process explaining the relevant literatures reviewed in the process. The report will include the summary of any further processes of personal factors and the factors that are internal or external to the industry that has helped in acquiring the achievements of the defined objectives and the expected outcomes. The report would also include the application of the theoretical knowledge, self evaluation of the project performance and the development of the proposed improvement strategies demonstrating personal and professional responsibility for learning and work outcomes. The professional level skills of the developers will also be depicted in this project report.
The journal articles that have been reviewed in this regard are all based on the technology that are used to develop the Information Technology Platforms as well as this new technology as an entire concept. The journal articles have been selected on the terms that these are peer reviewed journals. The findings presented in this journal are thus justified and authentic to the core.
The journal articles have presented the point that the Digital Industry platforms are the latest trend impacting largely on the business processes, irrespective of the industry the business belongs to. This technology is regarded as the latest innovation in the world of business. Mostly the people who have been using the IT platforms are very less in number, but the popularity is still high as a latest technology. The authors Abrahamsson et al. 2017 have found that this is mostly because there has not been much knowledge spread about the expansion of the Information Technology platforms and thus people do not exactly know the proper methodology to make use of them according to their full potential. As per quantitative research done by the authors in these journals, it has also been found that mostly business person using the IT platforms are still not fully acquainted with the terms and potential of the technology. Thus, it can be realized from the reviewed articles that although the business personnel have been using these IT platforms, they have limited or almost no knowledge about the technicalities of it. As a reason, it can mostly be seen that the full potential of the business strategy for IT platforms are not utilized (Ernst et al. 2015). This makes the business strategy a weaker one. Making use of a proper business strategy takes a business organization ahead of their competitors, but the wrong or no use of a business strategy even after implementation acts as a negative impact to the business organization.
System Implementation
It has been found that generally this technology is used in research purposes like IT investment, IT performance and IT governance. The lack in comprehensive understanding of the entire technology is making IT platforms an extremely powerful tool with no realized use. However, the literatures under review have not been fully potent about the conditions of the organizations that have effectively used the technology in their advantage. Though they are less in number, but they should have been discussed to have a better and clear picture about the situation where IT platforms have been effectively implemented within an organization. Therefore, it is easily understandable that using it effectively as a strategy for any business organization would make the organization be far ahead of its competitors.
The development of the IT platform in this regard has been made to work in favour of the automotive industry. This IT platform has been developed to create a knowledge base for vehemently assessing the techniques of recording the capabilities of a driver. The comprehensive software tool developed as a result is thus able to access the core competencies of a driver in the automotive industry by following some basic ideas that have been implemented in the system. The idea of assessing the progressive competency of a driver in the automotive industry and then presenting a driver’s license to them has been the basic idea behind the development of the software system.
The software system follows several rules according to the basic idea behind the IT platform creation. The software system has implemented the technology in the automotive industry, with which it can sufficiently make use of the records as per the inputs of an individual. This is done by two methods as described in the software system. The system follows an entire set of questions that are based on realizing two major aspects of becoming a driver, but they are based on individual discretion. The driver needs to set in their own credentials as per their knowledge of driving in the software system. The system follows two consecutive Quizzy or set of questionnaires that are based on the following:
- Quizzy or set of questionnaires related to personal improvement
- Quizzy or set of questions related to workplace competency.
Where the first one focuses on making the driver understand the scope of their personal improvements by making them answer all the questions, the other set of question makes it easier to understand about the discretion of an individual driver about workplace competency. Thus, the two logics applied to the software system in the IT platform would make it easier to keep the records of a driver based on the information about their individual skills, behaviours and attributes, based on which the workplace competency of the driver is determined. The set of questions would make it easier for the automotive industry to provide driver’s license to the drivers based on their teamwork, sense of responsibility, commitment to career, awareness about the commercial world, motivation towards career, decision making power, leadership and communication skills. The system then makes an individual understand the set rules, he or she has to make a choice to input their competencies and capabilities as a driver in the developed portal. If the person has to drive a vehicle under assistance of an experienced driver with an ‘L’ hanged to their automobile, then that driver is regarded as a ‘Learner’. On the other hand, when a driver has acquired the relevant knowledge and the basics about driving, then as per the information feed in the systems, he or she will be regarded as an experienced learner and they would be termed as ‘Provisionally Competent’. In the next stage, as per information feed in the driver in the system, if it is found that the driver demonstrates extensive knowledge about how a driving experience can be handled in different situations and obeys the various rules for the road, then he or she can be declared as a ‘Competent Driver’.
Self-evaluation of Project Performance
Based on these collected data, the industry would decide whether or not to reward a potential driver with a driver’s license or not as well as what tag should be provided to the person as a driver based on his or her core competency.
Adequate skills as per the potential professional level have been realized while the development of this IT platform working in favour of the automotive industry. Since, the software system consists of a huge amount of data storage, the development t of the software system in the IT platform has been kept as light weighted as possible. The number of drivers in the automotive industry is not less; therefore the generated data of per driver based on their personal skills and discretion would thus incur a huge amount of data.
On accordance to that, the study and development of the software system has taken up a much modern approach that abides by a SMART framework. This means that the development policy has been Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time bound. Therefore, the utmost level of professionalism has been maintained during the development of the Software System.
During the development of this IT industrial platform for the automotive industry, it has been kept in mind that the development process and the entire project should not fall by any lag during the process. The estimated time and budget have been realized on the basis of which the development has been made adequately (Braude and Bernstein 2016). Thus, the project management competencies have also been utilized to their full potential with a realistic approach towards developing the platform. The development for the entire software system tool has been completed within 6 months from the day of inception.
The software system has been found to understand the exact problems that need to be solved for the purpose of issuing driver’s license based on a driver’s core competence regarding their personal skills and discretion (Sun, Gregor and Keating 2015). The software system is able to understand the exact idea behind the development of the software and works accordingly. This means that the people who are not eligible to be provided with a license are effectively identified and thus decision is taken with regards to that.
The entire presentation of the software system is subtle and lightweight. The pages take less time to load as well as the look and feel of the IT platform is very easy on the eye. The UI is simple and understandable, so is the content of the tool which is specific and subtle.
After numerous testing done over the course of time after the development of the software, it has been found that the development process has been a success with no bugs found within the system software. Following are the screenshots of the developed application;
Home or index page of the application

Stage 2 assessment page
Stage 3 assessment page
Feedback page of the application
During the development process, the only problem that has been faced as a limitation is that there has been lack of vision in the development of the IT platform as a whole. It is understandable that the process needed to generate driver’s license to only the eligible drivers, the vision behind the entire software system on the background of the automotive industry is not clear.
Critical Evaluation of ICT Professional Issues
Due to this fact, the development process for the Quizzy questionnaire set for evaluating workplace competency of an individual falls short of adequate number of questions. If there had been much more clarity with the vision behind the developing of the software, it would have been easier to add more questions to the particular section. The Workplace Competency section would thus have more relevant set of questions.
If the entire software system be analyzed properly, it can be seen that the set of questions makes it easier for the automotive industry to provide driver’s license to the drivers based on their teamwork, sense of responsibility, commitment to career, awareness about the commercial world, motivation towards career, decision making power, leadership and communication skills. The system then makes an individual understand the set rules, he or she has to make a choice to input their competencies and capabilities as a driver in the developed portal.
Based on the acquired data, the decision is made whether or not the software would provide license to the driver. In addition to that, the system offers the driver to go through a set of questions via Quizzy that judges them based on their acquired knowledge about workplace competency and personal improvement. It can be clearly identified that with this provision in the system, an individual’s personal data is accessible via the IT platform, which may or may not be confidential to the person. Although, it is not ethically correct to collect and store a person’s confidential data if it is not a designated authority, it helps in the decision making process for the software system (Jia and Xin 2018). However, as the system would be accessed by the entire automotive industry and with the intention of future safety of the commuters, this can be applicable.
Conclusion
Thus, it can be concluded by saying that the development of the Information Technology Platform for Elite Diagnostic Solutions created to detect the capabilities of the drivers in the domain of generating driver’s license has been a successful development. This has been achieved in this project report by explaining the comparison between the estimated idea and the project development that has been achieved so far. The above report is presented as a justification to the successful development of the platform and what are the factors that have made the process a flourishing one. The report included the development process depicted as a whole experience throughout the project explaining the relevant literatures reviewed in the process. The report made a summary of any further processes of personal factors and the factors that are internal or external to the industry that has helped in acquiring the achievements of the defined objectives and the expected outcomes. Furthermore, the report included the application of the theoretical knowledge, self evaluation of the project performance and the development of the proposed improvement strategies demonstrating personal and professional responsibility for learning and work outcomes. Then the critical evaluation of the ICT professional issues experienced during the development of the platform as well as the professional conduct during the analysis and design of the project has been explained. The professional level skills of the developers have also been depicted in this project report. This has given a clear idea about the entire project development process and thus it has been justified why the project can be regarded as a successful one.
