Reflection on cultural awareness
Introduction
The prime determination of this unit of the paper focuses on the management of different types of projects in the service industries. The selected organization in this industry is the Yugambeh Meuseum. This project involves different types of sub tasks which are needed to be fully managed so that maximum productivity is achieved. The different types of subtasks of this project are project preparation and briefing, designing of the concept, implementation of the design, technical designing, construction of the project, project handover and close out. Each of the sub tasks requires specific resources and deadlines which are needed to be managed so that maximum efficiency is achieved (Pedersen et al., 2016). The desired quality of services can only be achieved with the help of effective project management techniques. The duration of each modules of the project is different and related to each other so each of the phases should be properly managed so that the proposed deadlines are met.
Relation of Cultural Awareness in relation to First People
A relationship between different cultural communities is a very important characteristic feature which is essential for the growth and development of a country. According to me, every aspects of development in a society such as the social development, economic development and cultural development are the key sorts of development which are needed to be seriously considered as each of these development focus on the growth of the nation as a whole. Equality and equity should be properly balanced in our society. Cultural awareness includes trust, understanding and shared goals. Common issues and challenges can be effectively mitigated with the help of cultural awareness (Knutsen, 2016). Building good and long term relations are the key factors which have a positive impact on the growth of an organization. Supporting each other in every situation is the prime determination of any society. I believe that the cultural differences should be minimized to a minimum level so that all the other resistances which occur during any change can be tackled well. Learning and respecting the culture of other communities should be practiced more so that the shape of the community is well maintained (Ang & Van Dyne, 2015). I believe that the limitations of the cultural sensitivity should be effectively minimized with the help of cultural awareness.
Steps First People would take up to extend the understanding of cultural diversity
There are different types of steps involved in extending the understanding of cultural diversity such as the followings:
Relation of Cultural Awareness in relation to First People
Communication: The different techniques of communication are the foremost factor responsible for understanding cultural diversity. Each culture and diverse societies have a unique set of rules and regulations which are needed to be understood and respected so that a sense of connection is achieved between the different communities (Storey, 2018). Ambiguities and misunderstandings can be significantly minimized with the help of effective communication strategies.
Treatment: Every individual of a particular society should be treated equally so that a sense of togetherness is achieved. Isolation of treatment should be strictly avoided and bounded by strict rules and regulations. Democracy and equality are responsible for the upbringing of the society (Strati, 2017). Every individual should be respected regardless of age, race, sex, color and language. Tolerance and compassion are essential pillars which are very much required for understanding the cultural diversity.
Cultural awareness can be understood with the help of self-awareness, research about the different communities, activities such as travelling and sharing experiences. Uniqueness of every person should be understood and appreciated. People from different background should be treated well and shared goals are very much easier to achieve as a team rather than an individual.
Drawing relations to personal work as a part of Industry Project Pitch
The activities of an individual in an industry project are very much important factor, as it contributes to the growth and development of the organization. The roles and responsibilities of each of the different stakeholders of an industrial project such as the internal stakeholders and external stakeholders should be properly identified before the implementation of the tasks so that the desired business objectives can be achieved easily. The designation of the individuals is very important for the prioritizations of the tasks. The needs and requirements of the individual from a project should be properly diagnosed and implemented. Each individual should be co-operating amongst themselves. Every individual has unique way of thinking and this quality should be implemented in the industrial projects also so that the uniqueness and originality of the product are maintained (Hargreaves, 2017). The advantages and limitations of the individual from an industrial project should also be considered so that both the individual as well as the organizations provide enhanced products or services to their clients. The different concepts of a project should be clear among all the employees of a project so that misunderstandings can be minimized. Smaller targets should be set for every entity associated in an industrial project and performance analysis tests should be conducted to measure the effectiveness of an individual in the project.
Steps First People would take up to extend the understanding of cultural diversity
Experiences of the processes according to industry partner’s project needs
After working on the project for the Yugambeh Museum according to the project needs for the industry as well as collaborating with the residents of Gold Coast, I can clearly say that the entire project experience has been self-satisfying. Since, the Industry Partner had the inclusion of various people coming from different cultural backgrounds to come together for establishing the museum. In addition to that, there was also the implementation of different people from varied economic backgrounds and mindsets to come together (Kerzner & Kerzner, 2017). The project also needed to be completed within 5000 USD before implementing the latest elements. There were also several challenges regarding the project as well. I had understood that the idea of progressing through the project for Yugambeh Museum did not follow the customer review of going through any project. Not just it needed the Museum to set up according to the industry partners project needs but also required to follow the difference in mindsets between the people and trying to utilize it into a positive approach towards the progression of the project.
If it is seen through the perspective of a person taking responsibility of merging the needs and requirements of the industry partner and also the people of Gold Coast, then it can be said that the project has been extremely challenging regarding every aspect of establishing the Museum keeping in mind that during this process all the business requirements needed to be met along with the constraint of time and budget (Tonchia, Tonchia & Mahagaonkar, 2018). Since I was in responsibility of pitching the project and making amendments according to the industry partner’s needs it would have been an elaborative learning experience for me since I have learnt that for a project to be successful it is not just the scope and the further establishment of the project that needs to be taken care of but it also takes down a comprehensive resource requirement in breakdown of the budget according to the people involved in the project and also the people who will be affected by it.
Solution and evaluation of the project needs according to the project progression
The project means that way meant to be followed were needed to be relevant to the project, have a sustainable effect, bridge the gap between the different aspects of the project and have a participatory effect between all the community members igniting curiosity and excitement for establishing a museum after all. I believe that the project objectives that needed to be followed through are related at the top contents of relevance regarding regional and art history (Kerzner, 2018). The white assets that were provided for helping Yugambeh Museum Veyron helping the people in a sustainable way by presenting the project according to the economic needs of the organisation as well as the people affected by it. As soon as the project progressed further it was seen that all the members of the community having different opinions and mind sets along with cultural difference where all coming together despite their existing differences.
Drawing relations to personal work as a part of Industry Project Pitch
It is at that point of time that I believed that the project should be encouraged for celebrating the diversity among various unexpected connections and also building up mutual consent by putting everybody’s thoughts and inputs into account (Heldman, 2018). During the project as a project manager I have seen that the entire project has been constructed within a time schedule that is appropriate for every budget considerations using various tools for building up the museum. Agile processes have been followed as well as the considerations of after completion phases were also taken into account (Martinelli & Milosevic, 2016). Therefore has the responsibility of a project manager the solution and evaluation that the project needs regarding the progression of the project were all followed thoroughly. The entire process had taken all the key aspects of the project can make it into a unified effort of all the people associated with (Husgafvel et al., 2015). From merging the different mind sets of people and the cultural background and taking consideration about the limited time and budget constraints I can say that this is being a successful project in setting up the Yugambeh museum.
Conclusion
Therefore it can be said that as a project manager I believe that the project for setting up Yugambeh Museum has been extremely fruitful since the project was completed within all the requirements of the industry partner. Not just a project has achieved merging the cultural background between the people of Gold Coast and the first world people but also it has Limited the budget into 5000 USD and completed the entire project within the predefined time. I had a very positive approach towards the progression of the project and setting up the industry partner project names were also followed. It could have been a constraint or set back during the progression of the project regarding the different cultural backgrounds of the people involved within the project but I have also utilised that as a positive impact. The way that I have made everybody involved within the project proposed their feedback and report all the aspects of the project progression have made me understood about what every person involved in the project things of the project progression. It give me a clear idea that what should be done further with the project so that none of them faced any discomfort when assigned with a particular task.
