The effective business communication is an important aspect of any organization or enterprise. The two companies, El Jannah Charcoal chicken as well as the Red Rooster restaurant chains are two of the major restaurant chains and eateries in Australia. Both these enterprises focus on the important aspects of establishing an efficient communication system amongst the employees and the customers. The importance of communication system enables the enterprises to successfully implement the strategies and the plans of the organization. The proper execution of the communication systems in the business yields extremely good results for the organization in the long run. The Effective Business Communication strategy can be efficiently utilized if the company implements the policy to train the employees so that their communication skills can be further enhanced. The assignment deals with the issue of Effective Business Communication and analyses the topic from the experiences of the two companies – the El Jannah Charcoal Chicken and the Red Rooster Restaurant and analyzes how the two restaurants utilize the Effective Business Communication in their day to day running of the business. The report also mentions about the significance of the Effective Business Communication strategy as well as the drawbacks of implementing a poor Effective Business Communication strategy.
The El Jannah Charcoal Chicken
The El Jannah company provides Lebanese food to the people and specializes in the charcoal chicken franchise. The El Jannah company was established in 1998 by the couple, Andre Estephan and his wife Carole Estephan. They inaugurated the restaurant at Granville and they later opened another branch at Punchbowl. They emphasized on the fact that this eatery will provide a chance for the companies to make the people of different cultures interact with each other and indulge in the exchange of cultures amongst themselves. The El Jannah charcoal chicken promises to provide the best available charcoal chicken for the Australian people.
The Red Rooster is the name of an Australian fast food chain of restaurant and eateries. It was established in 1972 and provides roasted chicken to the people. The products served includes a range of whole roasts, wraps, burgers as well as fish and lamb related products, salads, beverages and desserts. The company is owned by the Craveable Brands company and is present across the Australian states except for Tasmania. The first store of the Red Rooster company was established by the Kailis family members. There are over 360 Red Rooster eateries across Australia as of late 2012. The Red Rooster company focuses in smart marketing strategy and efficiently marketed itself by running an ad campaign stating the Americans don’t have the Red Rooster in the United States of America. This instantly caught the imagination of the people and Red Rooster became an instant hit among them. This efficient marketing strategy as well as the communication skills of the employees of the company are the reasons why the company is earning huge revenues and profits.

The business of any and every company depends on the aspects of communication which are followed in the organizations. Every company has a certain level of objectives which are to be achieved by the companies or the organizations. The objectives can be achieved by emphasizing on the co-ordination and the exchange of information, facts, ideas as well as opinions amongst themselves. The communication aspect of the companies have been described by many writers and thinkers as the intercourse by words, letters and messages in a way such that the organization members share the meaning and the understanding of the concepts with each other. The process of communication involves the exchange of information among the various people in the organization such that the exchange is done in a continuous way and that the process is based on listening and understanding the needs and demands of the members involved[1]. The inability of the member to understand the thoughts of the other person is due to the discrepancy in the communication process of the communicator. The inefficiency in the communication process can lead to the failure in understanding the demands of the customer as well as the inability to serve the demands of the clients and the customers[2]. This will lead to the company getting negative reviews by the customers and the clients and this will lead to the company earning negative returns on investment and the revenues will start falling as a result of the failure to comply with the requirements of the customers and the clients. Communication is an important element in any business enterprise and the importance of communication has gradually increased over the years. The important aspects of communication in management include-
- Communication helps in the achievement of co-ordination: The business firms are established with the intent to satisfy the needs and demands of the customers so that the business can generate enough revenues. The efficiency of the workers can be determined by allotting them duties based on the division of labor and specialization. The El Jannah Charcoal chicken restaurant emphasizes on the three levels of enhanced communication aspects. These are 1. Interpersonal communication 2. Team communication and 3. Organization communication. The interpersonal communication is the communication skills used by the employees and the workers to efficiently interact with each other so that the work is done in a proper and efficient manner. The team communication is the communication which happens between the employees and the support staff and the customer[6]. The better the communication amongst the customers and the employees, the better the work is done by the enterprise. The third aspect of the communication aspect of the company which is the organization communication refers to the sharing of information across the different levels of the enterprise. The more easily the information is passed between the different levels of the organizational hierarchies, the more successful the company is in executing the decisions and the planning so that the enterprise can achieve the organizational goals easily [7].
The Red Rooster Company
The Red Rooster company on the other hand develops a framework to assess the changing dynamics of the customer needs and requirements by maintaining a record of the changing trends in the tastes and preferences of the customers by surveying the people and asking them about the tastes and preferences. The people’s change in tastes and preferences are then incorporated into the enterprise’s objectives and the Red Rooster makes those changes and incorporates the new changes in the menu and the food served. The aspect of the people becoming more health conscious has been noted and acknowledged by the Red Rooster company and these change in the organizational designing has been possible because the company engages the customer into a communication system and acknowledges the changes in the trends of their tastes and preferences. The subtle changes made by the enterprise has enabled it to become one of the most sought-after restaurant chain in Australia and has enabled the company to earn huge revenues and profits.
Reason Why The Communication Strategies Are So Important
The El Jannah company is efficiently able to utilize the communication skills both as the interpersonal level as well as the organizational levels. At the interpersonal levels, the trained and the experienced employees of the El Jannah enterprise maintain the communication with the customers so that the needs and requirements of the customers can be addressed efficiently and effectively[8]. The issues which arise because of the customer dissatisfaction are also addressed properly and in a timely manner without any delay. This helps in maintaining a positive image of the enterprise in the minds of the customers and the clients[9]. The customers and the clients are addressed by the customer service agents and any issue whatsoever or any suggestion to improve the existing facilities and services are incorporated with the advice and suggestion of the managerial authority. The Red Rooster company also focuses on the Efficient Business Communication aspect and conducts a survey to engage the customers and take note of the changing dynamics of the tastes and preferences [10]. Any changes in the tastes and preferences of the customers is incorporated immediately by the Red Rooster enterprise.
The strategy to focus on the effective business communication are very much important for the enterprises because the proper implementation of the effective business communication can yield extremely beneficial results for the enterprise in the long run. The Red Rooster company has successfully managed to adapt the changing trends in the preferences of the customers. The survey conducted by the enterprise showed that the people were preferring healthier foods in comparison to the normal junk foods, so the enterprise changed the menu in an efficient manner and introduced green leafy vegetable salads as one of the options in the menu along with healthier fresh fruit beverages. This enabled the enterprise to lure in more customers and thus generate more revenues and profits[11]. Any discrepancy in the communication process can prove hazardous for the enterprise as without effective communication amongst the employees and the customers or between the managerial authorities and the employees, there will be difficulty in properly executing the designed plans to perfection [12]. Also, without the communication amongst the employees and the customers, the enterprise will not be able to understand the changing dynamics of the tastes and preferences of the customers and thus, the enterprises will not be able to improve and innovate their services and products.

The increased efficiency and the productivity of the employees enables them to commit little number of mistakes. Therefore, the Effective Business Communication are extremely important for the business of any organization. The proper implementation of the plans and strategies are dependent upon the Effective Business Communication skills of the organization. The Effective Business Communication skills of the organization enable the company to create a great relationship with the customers and this in turn creates a customer base in the organization.
