This report is on the effective communication it is the most important aspect with the help of communication message can get from across the world. Communication skills are the major factor and these skills are developed at a good level and these skills can be used in professional and personal. Communication skills can be improved by using the effective communication. In addition to this five diagnostic tools are used for analysis the communication skills which helps in detecting the lack of skills in relation to communication. Literature reviews provide the full information and with the help of this communication skills will improve. In addition to this action plan helps in searching some activities such as taking the short course, and with the help of mentor communication skills can be improved and by reading the plan.
The report includes communications style such as Johari window, Assertiveness questionnaires, communication style questionnaire, interpersonal communication and interview skills checklist. These styles helps in examine the individual’s communication skills. This method is tough for building my communication skills and for progressive my strengths and weakness in this condition. The Johari window is useful to search out the different communication skills so that with the help of Johari window understanding of communication skills related to verbal and nonverbal communication is clear. Different culture can be understood by the communication skills. In addition to this, some of the hidden areas based on such things from which I am known from this but not the others and also have the ability to understanding the emotions based talks in their tones (Owen, 2015). The another area is blind area quadrant means such communication skills from which I am not aware of it but it is known to others such as encode the nonverbal signal. The last quadrant aim is to find out the factor which is unknown and for this it requires the skills to improve the better communication of various groups. Communication style questionnaire is used for showing the communication style of the individual. This method is known as more effective. In this amiable the scoring rate is 9 out of 18 it shows my dominant style. Amiable individuals show them dependable, supportive, respectful and agreeable by this only focus can be given to the present. The environment suitable for the Amiable people’s such as I will involve personal, formal relaxed, orderly setting, friendly it means the reason behind the frustrations and not capable of communicating easily such as formal setting like official presentations and interviews ( Moss & Brookhart, 2012). The Amiable individual’s communication model it includes must be a good listener, quite at the time, accurate and up to date written work also the warmness. With the help of dominant style, I can view myself with effective matches.
Diagnostic Tools to Improve Communication Skills
Assertiveness questionnaires with the help of this method communication skills can be asses. Points score 12 out of 15 in passive attitude scale. Even I got frustrated then also I control my aggressiveness. Having this attitude restricts the effective communication by this only I am not able to communicate in the groups and also not able to communicate with seniors.
Another point is Interpersonal communication it helps in improving the communication skills and also help in how to communicating with others. The scoring rate was 71 out of 90 points is of my self-assessment. After pointing out my scoring rate it can examine that I am a proficient communicator. The score of 71 points is a good score and I need more to work on the interpersonal communication skills because the communication skills are not grow-up and it needs to improve more (Wimmers, 2010). I addition to this interpersonal communication skills training is necessary to improve the communication skills. The interview skills checklist is used to find out the individual’s skills at the time of interview. With the help of diagnostic tools, it can examine that the weakness and worried has been observed while facing the interview even by doing the good preparations for the interviews. Even fell panic and not make the eye-contact while facing the interviews even by doing the good preparations of the interview not giving the answer of questions properly. This is the reason there is lack of confidence while dealing with interviews.
With the help of diagnostic methods error related to communication can be solved out such as become tough to express the ideas or thoughts while facing the professional interactions it happens because of getting nervous and panic (West, 2010). Having the difficulties facing the interviews and presentations because of lack of confidence. Even I have experienced last year that the due to the weakness it suffered in the professional communication. Hai resort which is located in Hoi an, in Vietnam. Recently a call comes for an interview and even while facing the interview in am not able to maintain the eye-contact and also giving the wrong answer due to lack of confidence but although manage to pass the interviews ( Moss & Brookhart, 2012). Another failure comes during professional communication is due to weakness is point out and after obvious, the weakness and I were able to communicate with the businessmen having the hotels in different countries such as Hotel Holiday Inn in Australia. From some different countries such as- Canada, South Korea, Japan and Russia these are big travel companies with higher ranks. It has become the responsibility while communicating individual have to manage the time and schedule and also fulfilled the demands of businessmen.
Johari Window
These five diagnostic tools help in solving the problem related to expressing the ideas or thoughts and lack of confidence facing at the time of interviews and while giving the presentations. In this, while taking the example of having the problem of lack of confidence is observed with the help of interview skills checklist it happens because of not having the ideas of expressing the thoughts while in interviews (Pinola, 2014). The another problem is not having the confidence while communicating with others it is another issue which can be solved out with the help of assertiveness attitude as amiable. The definition of Amiable is defined individual is not straightforward and for controlling these condition aggressiveness is not needed. During the communication, while communicating with others shows my lack of confidence as a result of it known as assertiveness attitude of being amiable.
Lack of preparation, planning, language problem, nervousness, bad thoughts and expression, ideas, fear, doubly objects are the major reasons which come in the way of communication with another person. This hindrance shows the path towards ineffectiveness and creates a loss to our communication development. Our ideas are not expressed in passive communication. Assertive communication should be adopted to come over these hindrances (Angelo, 2014). Skill will be able to communicate by using Assertive communication as our feelings will be free and will be open to parties. In forwarding, the message skill will be productive. The cases in which we not express our feelings properly to the parties the Assertive communication thinks to solve out our problems. The idea of communicating with professionals, preparation of ideas, thoughts, and criteria of the meeting are the major factors of effective communication.
The only one which is adopted by you and others in the exchange requisite for effective communication is assertiveness communication (Adair, 2013). It forms the environment of open and honest communication where people are free to express their feelings easily. In Assertive communication attitude, the only people are included who feel easy in conveying themselves the reason for it is that they knew that their communication will be too listened and got the appreciation whether they agree with it or not. To gain knowledge is the skill for adopting the idea that what you say during exchange so that you alley get your objective without alienation one. It can be described as messages, thoughts also the main objective of members should be clear and meaningful (Hargie, 2016). It should be conveyed and develop to individual well. Interpersonal skill should possess the high quality. The concern parties which are included in it should get the effective ideas to find out the needs of the party communication skill helps a lot.
Assertiveness Questionnaires
Interpersonal is to be developed for effective communication. These skills are one who pertains to a relationship with people. A good method for improving your interpersonal skills is to know how you would like that other to treat you and how you treat. Interpersonal skill presents the way; in interrelating with others how capable you are. For a look, in a respectful manner if a man knows that how to communicate with others is known as ‘active listening ‘. Types of soft skills are embraced by this which involves:
Mentoring- training is given to one or more than one people.
Communication- By verbal or nonverbal ways ideas are conveyed effectively.
Leadership- By presenting the example leading and supporting the other individual.
Problem-solving- personal, business and group problems are determined.
Negotiations – having an agreement with others when the opinions are different.
Empathy- individuals are accepted in the organization.
Teamwork- for achieving different goals work is done with types of people.
It is a result of interpersonal communication because it has improved a lot that an individual can take out a problem of lacking confidence in presentation, a communicator can manage the communication during the presentation with the help of training and by limiting the quality of communication he can also help in changing the topic (Goldberg, 2014). At the time of managing in front of the various audience and during the time when attractive knowledge the progress is very dangerous of interpersonal communication. It is defined as the use interpersonal communication is to give the encouragement to know about its process at the time of presenting in front of different parties. More to this the getting of verbal and non-verbal indication by this way it gives help in the improvement of interviews and presentation given by them and it is also noticeable at the present time that how they are giving their reaction to messaging when communicating (Hakim, 2016).
The time when the message is conveyed to the audience the important thing to be reminded is that there should be a confidence and the communicators must possess the ability so there should be a relief to the audience that what message the communicators are passing to them. Because of communication hesitation, some problems may take place known as the anxiety level when the problem is faced during communication with others. For poor communication, communication apprehension is used when interviews and presentation are faced. For creating the problems in communication, anxiety is one of the reason.
Interpersonal Communication and Interview Skills Checklist
It is not easy to embark on as the oral presentation is a very difficult task, lacking confidence at the speaking time in front of others and because of this the ability for speaking in front of others reduce down (Pinola, 2014). Expressive about the anxiety factor, it only takes place due to the absence of confidence and the foremost thing to be developed is the confidence and also to build the presentation skills. Expectations of the audience and what they are expecting from the communicators before the presentation can be examined with the help of communicators. Understanding the communicator’s role is the main factor as it includes to notify, convince, train and motivation of the audience is not an easy task as it is a serious step during communication skills improvement (Hakim, 2016). More efficiency is needed for presentation while going for an interview as the confidence level gets down and to develop it again is not an easy task and also ensuring the right message has been passed or not to the audience. When facing the interview the knowledge of current trends of the company helps in bringing the confidence as in the case of the interview it is possible to make a research on the company was going for an interview (Barker, 2016).
It is very important to make a deal planning’s with the anxiety factor it involves during the presentation is given and interviews it points out the skills which are needed at the time of interview and also check the confidence that what message they are conveying in the presentation. In this firstly the topic is to be examined and the features should also examine which are related to the presentation so that it can help in developing the confidence and it also makes an effort in conveying the better message at the present time. The important thing is to know about the questions first and giving their answers correctly with full confidence and the correct one at the time of interview process
In this report, activities are followed by me for earning the knowledge related to communication skills and also improve the communication skills. Some of the activities performed while improving the communication skills such as pursuing the short course from the institute, reading the articles as well as from books also and mentoring from CQU ( Moss & Brookhart, 2012). In this Action plan is introduced includes the area related to activities which have undertaken. In this measurement and examine is done after the end of commenced activities. With the help of measurement, activities given below can be carried out for improving the communication skills.

A KWL chart is made for concluding the accomplishments for the period of activities carried out. For considering the skills of communication and it related to the result of overcoming the skills after the period of session training; the five diagnostic tools – The Communication Style Questionnaire, Jamari window, Assertiveness questionnaires, interview skills checklist and interpersonal commutation are to find out the communication gaps and it can be experienced by me. By the help of this level of communication skills is improved so that it can be realized at the time period. |
