Managers Should Make Effective Communication a Priority
Effective communication throughout a workplace is an essential ingredient to align people’s efforts towards achieving organizational goals. Yet it seems that ‘communication problems’ are continually mentioned as one of the main difficulties for most organizations.
Your boss, the CEO of ABC Company, has asked you to investigate the question: ‘why managers should make effective communication a priority’? In so doing she expects you to examine:
Aspects of communication that relate to sustainability: communication of sustainability activities and achievements (the corporate social responsibility report), and the sustainability of an organization’s communications activities themselves.
For an organisation to work properly there exist effective communication between employees and managers. Managers should keep communication as a priority so that flexibility and transparency could be increased. Effective communication helps to gain positive environment by making best use of all the resources. Managers can share their ideas easily by communicating with the employees. This also resolves the issue of conflicts between employees. This report covers the detail study of the reason why communication should be taken as priority. It helps in boosting up the positivity in the working environment. Thus success of an organisation is directly dependent on the communication that exists between managers and employees. The benefits and its issuers are also analysed in this report.
In an organisation there are employees and managers all are at different levels. Thus to make sure that they are able to communicate with each efficiently will boost up the productivity of an organisation. Managers should make communication as there priority as it will add up transparency in the system. Maintaining effective communication will help with to know the needs of employee so that plans could be enhances and will make the working environment in an organisation friendly. Managers should also have a personal communication with all the employees so that they can examine the strengths, weakness, opportunity and threats associated with them (Importantindia, 2017). They also help in knowing a clear vision and mission of an organisation which helps them in designing strategic plan. Effective communication also helps in creating a positive environment and makes the best use of all the resources. It also helps managers to promote the value of learning among employees.
In an organisation communication plays an important role. If managers communicate with the employees in an effective manner it will add up satisfaction among employees. They also helps in maintain communication between employees. Effective communication can also remove diverse culture from an organisation (Doorley and Garcia, 2015). Regular communication between employees and managers will lead to more productivity at the workforce. Managers should launch various policies to maintain communication with the staff. The overall progress of a company is dependent on the internal communication process. Managers should maintain a good communication terms with t e employees as it helps in managing the responsibility at every level, in case of conflicts managers and resolve the issue so that it doesn’t penetrate within employees by increasing their personal conflicts. If managers communicate with the employees it helps them to provide equal rights to every employee and the cases of partiality can also be resolves. It helps the manager to make correct decisions (Kerzner and Kerzner, 2017). It also helps in building strong relations and enhances mutual understanding among them. Thus result of effective communication with manager will lead to boost up the organisational success.
Corporate Social Responsibility
Managers get a big picture of the actual scenario by effectively communicating with their employees. Communication help the organisation to achieve their goals as it provide the clarity. It will increase the trust and loyalty at every level in an organisation. It is a way through which information can be shared effectively by enabling managers to get the right information about the employees and staff at the right time (Austin and Pinkleton, 2015). Managers can convey their ideas easily by communicating with the employees.
As per the research it can be stated that performance of an organisation is dependent on communicating with the employees by educating them. Mangers communication so that employees get to know there values and culture of an organisation so that the goals can be attained by improving performance (Kerzner, 2017). It is necessary for managers to take out some tie and find an effective method so that they can communicate with the staff. The organisation should make communication with the employees as there priority. Ads per the research it can be stated that mangers have the power to make changes encourage or stimulate employees. Thus making communication a priority will help managers to identify the employees and their issues so that procedures could be developed and enforced successfully. The interaction also provides a platform to employees where they can freely share their information (Heldman, 2018). Effective communication is one possible way to maintain a good position of an organisation. They allow open and direct line of interaction with the employees. The organisation should provide flexibility where employees can communicate with managers also. Thus it can be stated that it also removes all the geographical hurdles among employees by keeping them engaged (Condoluci, et. al, 2015).
Corporate social responsibility is an organisational policy in which managers consider communication as there priority it will be beneficial for the entire department in an organisation. It is a basis prerequisite of an organisation to attain the objectives and goals. As in an organisation there are employees from different culture and background. They all work in a team so there are chances of personal grudges or conflicts, thus if managers keep communication with employees as they priority it will help them to resolve all such issue (Grossman, 2017). It also helps in increasing the coordination to complete the work together. The benefit of effective communication helps in motivating the employees so that they can execute company plans enthusiastically. CSR work on gaining three principals that is sustainability, accountability and transparency. It is the way by which behaviour is modified, change is effected and goals are achieved. They help evaluating the company’s performance in by managing the policies in an organisation. With effective communication managers are able to lead the prosperity of an organisation. Communication clears the issue regarding what employees need to do and how they can do it. It also helps in ensuring that communication impacts the decision making power as it helps the organisation to make appropriate decisions (Quirke, 2017). Apart from that while communicating it help the managers to know the perception of employees and helps in finding new ideas. It adds up transparency in an organisation. The innovation of new ideas helps in building strong relationship among the employees. Managers should communicate with the employee so that they employees also become comfortable.
Sustainability of an Organization’s Communications Activities
Sustainability activities in an organisation remove the barriers that exist in an organisation if managers do not communicate with the employees regularly. If there is no medium of communication the gaps between employees will increase as there are chances of conflicts due to perceptual, language, cultural, physical and emotional barrier. If mangers do not organise any activities then it will lead to breakdown in communication which future lead to conflicts and misunderstanding. If the communication is not possible then there would be failure at time of coordinating (Kotler, 2015). They increase the chances of closed loop that is degree of miscommunication increases. Thus activities are implemented to so that they communicate with the employees effectively then there will be lack of motivation for employees. They will not find a reason to do productive work as they will become unaware about polices and plans. The ineffective communication will increase stress among employees as they get the feeling of overworked and there is no motivation or appreciation for their work (Chand, 2017). It also breaks down the relation between the college, boss and higher authorities. They poor communication impacts the stress levels of employees, deadlines, morale, health and negatively for work increases due of lack of interaction with the manager. Thus if priority is taken that mangers should maintain good communication will lead to healing effect to all the issues (Roh, et. al, 2014). Apart from that to can be stated if there is lack of communication it will increase lack of knowledge which future lead to negativity towards the work.
Conclusion
It can be concluded from this report that communication is a key factor for an organisation growth. Managers should treat communication as their priority so that transparency could be enhanced. Communication helps in keeping up correspondence between workers. Effective communication can likewise clear the issue of culture from an organisation. Supervisors should dispatch different arrangements to keep up correspondence with the staff. In this report importance of effective communication by managers is discussed. In this report the benefits of effective communication and lack issues that are faced in an organisation due to lack of effective communication is discussed. Thus it can be concluded that managers should maintain effective communication so that all the issues related to culture and diversity is resolved. Thus it can be stated that mangers ought to keep up a decent correspondence terms with the representatives as it helps in dealing with the duty at each level.
