Activity of professionals affects the client safety
This report demonstrates effective professional communication in context of the healthcare sector. The effective interpersonal communication skills are significant for healthcare professionals because it helps to make a long-term relationship with family, friends, colleagues, and patients. Therefore, it can be said that effective professional communication could directly influence the personal and professional life of healthcare people. In addition, it represents the significance of inter-professional team together with their collaboration skills. At the same time, it also shows communication barriers, which influences the effective professional combination. This report presents some approaches, which is supportive to overcome the communication barriers and makes an effective professional communication significantly (Aboumatar, et al., 2013).
In this video, there are more than five people who are discussing one case related to their area. I think the way, which used by participants are not appropriate to the client safety. Since, professionals are not concentrated on the case, which demonstrates their negative attitude to handle any case. It means the professionals do not successfully handle issues of clients related to their health. At the same time, it can also be said that such acts of professional can create major health safety issue for patients in long-run, which can also decline the image of hospitals in the market.
There are seven members who give their contribution to the discussion, but each member has different activity at the time of interaction. Firstly, there is one speaker who discusses the case among six members regarding trying to get the feedback regarding the case. Cristina is a nursing student and she tries to wear their earing during the section. Starus gives their ideas regarding the topic and then start to play with a stethoscope. Moreover, Taury also gives their ideas or thoughts and then start to clean excess skin of nail. Pity and Kity continuously talk with each other but when the speaker is said to Pity to discuss their thought then she contributes their perception afterward she start to make drawing in the notebook. Pity tries to play with their hairs at the time of discussion. Danny is in drowsy mode during the whole interaction. Additionally, Darky has used their mobile at the time of interaction. So, it can be said that such activities of professionals show a negative attitude.
The good interpersonal communication is significant for healthcare professional in improving their personal and professional life. Along with this, there are some significant factors that demonstrate the importance of effective interpersonal communication skills. These are a strong interpersonal relationship, patient arrangement, truthful patient beliefs, patient fulfillment, a healthier medical exercise, and reduces probabilities of faults. These factors are discussed below:
An effective professional communication is supportive to develop a strong relationship with the doctors and patients, which could be significant to best analysis and treatment of ill-health optimally. It supports to develop faith between clinicians or doctors and patients (Beach, et al., 2013).
The effective professional communication is also supportive for better patient engagement. It is because, once a patient is relaxed then the doctors are able to perform medical activities in their manner. At the same time, doctors could be able to perform their activities significantly excluding the patient anxiety. If doctors show appropriate sympathy and admiration towards the specified patient, subsequently it supports to decline the fear of patients regarding their ill-health. Additionally, it could also be assisted to the patient for energetically takes decision. Moreover, it is examined that the effective communication supports to the patient for taking suitable decision in a significant manner.
Activities of Professionals in video
A significant communication together with putting all significant information to victim supports the victims for creating a depth understanding regarding their health condition. Consequently, it realizes the victims to think and expect like a physician due to ignoring the minor pain. Therefore, a doctor has a need to educate the victims regarding their medical condition because of making a long-term relationship and successful treatment of patients (Boissy, et al., 2016).
A doctor who has the ability to good listing together with appropriately treating to their patient could be effective to make a strong relationship with victims in long term. At the same time, when a doctor gives time to its patients for dismissing their fears and worries, then it could not only support for effective performance but also increase the values in patient eyes. It is because, a doctor has not performed as a professional they act like a right individual who exactly directs patients. Therefore, it can be analyzed that such kind of acts of the doctors can be supportive to enhance the level of satisfaction of patient along with enhancing the beliefs of victims towards the doctors (Boric-Lubecke, et al., 2014).
A significant relationship declines the fault probability of victim and cover-up important documents, hence it could supports to reduce the probability of faults in analysis and treatment at the time of treating doctors.
Referring to the video, addressed some significant issues regarding inter-professional communication from the point of clients, professionals, and professional organization.
On behalf of a client, different kinds of factors are noticed in the referred video such as professional is not interested, lack of collaboration among the professionals, lack of concentration regarding section. Additionally, lack of interest demonstrates that irresponsible behavior of the doctors, which could directly, affects the performance of doctors. It means if doctor’s behavior is irresponsible means they are not able to successfully solve health issue of the patient. Additionally, lack of concentration shows that, if doctors are not concentrated means they will never be serious about solving the ill-health successfully. Therefore, it can be said that such kind of doctors cannot perform well in their professional life in long-term. As well as, the lack of collaboration shows that they can work with team to accomplish any task whereas they cannot support any team in future to successfully accomplish the task (Cole, et al., 2013).
On behalf of professional, it is analyzed that mentor of professional communication have lack of interaction skills, which makes an uncomfortable and boring environment in the working place. At the same time, it can be said that when the mentor is friendly and having great interaction skills then they will easily influence the team members to solve any case in an efficient manner. Moreover, lack of collaboration between the doctors can also be a negative impact on solving any case successfully in long-term (Fairclough, 2013).
As per the video analyzed that doctors are not interested in case, which can negatively impact on the growth of an organization in long-term. Professionals are not concentrated on case due to cultural differences, uncomfortable environment, and lack of interaction. At the same time, it can be examined that in case doctors are not interested in discussing case in a professional way than how they can solve case in a significant manner. It could decline the revenue and profitability of an organization. Subsequently, it can also make a negative image of professional organization in the marketplace. Therefore, an organization has needed to enhance the market image and profitability by providing a comfortable environment to the professionals. At the same time, an organization can also provide training and development program due to improving the interpersonal skills, and eliminate the cultural issues of doctors in a significant way (Foronda, et al., 2016).
Importance of good interpersonal communication skills
As per the current scenario data analyzed that healthcare delivery relied on the interconnection and collaboration. It means nurses, druggists, doctors, and social workers are interconnected with each other due to accomplishing the task of health care successfully. In another word, it can be said that the inter-professional team and their collaboration refers to potential victim caution through team-based outlook. There are some significant factors that show that the significance of inter-professional team and their collaboration in performing any kinds of task successfully. These are clear roles and responsibility, confidence and trust, capability for reduce the difficulty level, eliminate personal dissimilarities, and collective leadership. These are discussed below:
In the inter-professional team, each member has aware regarding their roles and responsibilities in the team, which supports to successfully accomplish the task in specified time. At the same time, a team member has worked as a team, not as individual means they think about their acts before putting acts in the task. Since, an individual performance can affect the result of the team so that each individual is careful to do any kinds of activity. Moreover, clear roles and responsibilities of the team members can be supportive to solve the health-ill issues of victims in less time in a significant manner (Holloway, et al., 2016).
The inter-professional team and their collaboration skills are supportive to enhance the confidence and trust of members who are the part of the team. In addition, the higher confidence and trust towards the team members can be supportive to make an effective or strong relationship with each other and successfully treat the patient. At the same time, it could be significant for appropriately solve the health condition of a patient together with making a positive relationship with the patient in long term.
The inter-professional and collaboration skills of team members support to make a collaborative leadership within the working place. At the same time, it is found that each individual performed as a leader in the team that develops the collaborative leadership within an organization. Moreover, it helps to easily solve health issues in a significant manner and creates a robust and long-term relationship with the patient (Nordenström, et al., 2014).
Referring to the video, it is analyzed that communication barriers can affect the performance of professional organization, professionals, and clients. The following point shows the barrier of communication to clients, professionals, and professional organization:
As per the evaluation of video some significant kinds of barriers are founded such as forget to give respect to the doctor, levitation of voice, and embarrassed to ask questions regarding the case. At the same time, it is examined that doctors have needed to respect in case patients has forgotten then it will be caused of communication barrier. Additionally, clients are embarrassed to ask anything regarding the case due to lack of confidence skills, hence, could create the barrier to successful communication. The levitation of voice can also affect the communication because when a client has talked in higher voice then it could negatively effect on the successful communication (Istepanian, et al., 2014).
From the evaluation of video examined that professionals are also influenced by the communication barrier, which has a negative impact on the performance of doctors or professional. There are some significant factors such as lack of interpersonal skills, application of medical terms, raising voice, silencing information, lack of ability to influence patient. Additionally, it can be said that such factors play an imperative role to create communication barrier in the working place, which can affect the performance of doctors (Marra, et al., 2014).
On behalf of the organization, it can be said that some factors can be caused of creating communication barriers such as a large number of members in communication, lack of comfortable environment, lack of collaboration, dissimilar perception, and different culture. Additionally, when a large number of people participate in communication process then it could create issue for successful communication due to different perception level of each individual regarding the same case. Moreover, as per the video analyzed that participants are not interested in the view or thinking regarding the case, which indicates the lack of collaboration among the participants. It can also be caused of communication barrier. At the same time, it is also addressed that the environment is not flexible that decline the interest of participants regarding contribution in case, therefore, it can be said that the uncomfortable environment can create communication barrier in the working place (Kitapci, et al., 2014)
Referring to the video, it can be said that the outcome of the client can be enhanced by improving the professional responsibility and accountability in the context of the communication. There are some significant professionals responsibilities such as make a strong relationship, effective communication, and appropriately guide the patients. The effective communication supports the professionals to make a positive relationship with clients in long-term. At the same time, in case the professionals and clients making a very great relationship with each other consequently clients are able to describe its issues in depth, which supports the doctors to successfully solve the health issues of the patient. Similarly, effective communication can also support to makes long-term and positive image with clients, which is supportive to growth of professionals in the upcoming period. At the same time, a professional should have interpersonal skills due to solving the case with team and making a robust relationship with clients (Lindberg, et al., 2013).

From the above discussion, it can be concluded that effective professional communication is significant for health care organization. It can be significant for doctors as well as a healthcare organization. The effective professional communication can support to make strong relationship with the patient, reduce the probability of mistakes, and satisfy the patient in a significant manner. Additionally, it is also examined that the effective inter-professional team and their collaboration can support to make a collaborative leadership, develops confidence and trust, clear roles and responsibilities. It could directly affect the performance of a healthcare organization as well as professionals.
