Leadership Style for Training and Building Relationship with Staffs and Students
- Leaders have a vision for their organizations, which they communicate in the strategies, to achieve the goals of the organization (Rush et al., 2014). The leader needs effective management tools for the success of the organization. The leader, who is dealing with the students, requires to have the following characteristics for effectiveness and efficiency. The skills are as follows –
- Communicative
- Creative
- Problem solving
- Honest
- Transparent
- Focused
- Charismatic
- Passionate
- Patient
- Knowledgeable
In today’s world, the students are very much advanced and updated. They know their strengths and weaknesses. The model of leadership that would be best in such scenario, is the Democratic Style of Leadership (Jones, Norris & Kim, 2015). For training of the staffs, fulfilling their expectations and for building relationship with them, this style of leadership can be used. The leaders possess huge practical knowledge. They can understand the potentiality of the students. Hence, leaders can be the best guide for the students in any circumstances. They should also be open for suggestions. Therefore, it can be stated that, through effectiveness and efficiency, leaders can build a good relationship with the staffs and students of the UCLA.
- As an event manager, my primary task would be to identify ‘the lady’, who had been referred to in the tweet. If she is in the team, I must have a conversation with her. I also need to have a meeting with the teams to identify the main reason for the conflict. Then, if it is found that the fault is in the policies of the Wounded Solider 5K, then the teams have to submit a report to the top authority. I will have a direct meeting with the person, who has been victimized, regarding the problem faced by him. Then the person would be benefited with both the free service and the free membership for one year. This is one of the tools for promotion of the services. In the present scenario, where the competition is so high, it is important for the companies to retain their customers for the long term (Myers et al., 2015).
Different events attract different type of customers. The customers belong to various different cultures, norms and background. As the organization is based on youth oriented Event management, the pool of customers, who are mostly the tech savvy young generation, needs to be addressed in the social media. The social media provides a platform, where the companies target their customers consistently for product promotion. They can promote, take the feedback and provide solutions in just few seconds. The social media also allows the customers to express their needs and wants.
- Designing a new weight room and wrestling complex need a substantial amount of investment. The funds can be raised from angel investors or by taking loans from the banks. For designing, planning and constructing of the process, following points need to be considered:
- Minimum space between two instruments
- Minimum two restrooms for men and women
- The timings for the old people and middle-aged people can be segregated.
- The quality of the instruments should be properly maintained and insured (Jones, 2014).
- There should be enough number of the instruments so that no person sits idle.
For monitoring the planning and construction process, the following points need to be addressed
- Fixed timing will be allocated for each member for using the equipment
- The ratio of trainee and the trainer would be 2:1 (Bhatt, Manadhata & Zomlot, 2014).
- There will be an emergency number for contacting the authorities any time of the day.
- No trainee would use the instruments without going through the instructions.
If the above criteria are fulfilled, then the facility management can go through the development process. The safety of the people should always be the primary concern for the company.
- The need of the Fitness in daily Life
The marketing team needs to address the people of the country. They can communicate face to face or via social media to provide the knowledge about the fitness in their lives. They can organize some events in public places such as, shopping malls, to communicate with a large number of people. They can also offer a free trial period for a week for new customers. This would be helpful for the organization to increase their revenue.
The Corporate Social Responsibility
In corporate social responsibility to the society, they can train the underprivileged people on a daily basis. Training and marketing of services among the underprivileged people can provide a huge customer base. They can also earn their livelihood by training other employees. However, these employees need to have a bond with the organization to provide service for at least 2-3 years of time (Dredge et al., 2013).
The contract with the schools
If the management has a conversation with the local schools and convince them to arrange the fitness classes during their school hours, they can address many young customers. This will make the students understand the importance of fitness in their daily lives. If the students start looking after their health on a regular basis, then in future, they would be healthy and have less health related issues. The students can be involved in the publicity of the fitness organization through word of mouth. The word of mouth would be the best marketing tool for this organization (Stahl, 2016).
- In the last event named as the “Go free”, they dealt with the marriage ceremonies. There are two positive and two negative points. The two major positive points are discussed below –
- Innovative Theme – The organization had set the theme of the marriage ceremonies as the mix of the cultures of the 21stcentury and the 20th century (Chanaron, 2014). The dressing styles, food, ceremony rituals, the addressing style and everything else was based on this particular theme. They estimated the people`s background and their values. Therefore, according to me they have made this wonderful change.
- Product Diversity – There was a pool of the choices in the beverages segment. The buffet system also managed to introduce different kind of foods for both lunch and dinner. For example, in the previous day of the ceremony, they had continental food in the lunch and Chinese food in the dinner. It is one of the innovative ways to promote the new cuisines to customers.
The drawbacks are discussed below
- Lack of Skilled People – The organization is newly established and has a great enthusiasm, but lacks in experience. Therefore, they need to arrange training programs for the employees, so that their productivity and quality both increase.
- Lack of Feedback – The organization also lacks in skills in the point of taking the feedback from the customers. The customers can provide a lot of informative point that would benefit the organization in the future, if reviewed and implemented.
