Identify potential unplanned scheduling interruptions that may impact your schedule. (Add bullet points as needed.)
- Spending many hours on tiktok and some other social media platforms.
- Attending a party at my friend’s place knowing very well that my assignment is due by 11:59 pm.
Identify how you will choose between tasks or events that take place at the same time on your schedule.
At times when I have multiple things/events that run concurrently, I opt for a strategic approach. In this case, I choose what I feel needs to be completed first. If something has a timeframe, I’ll start with the one whose timeframe is shorter. However, despite all these, my work and studies always come first.
Identify the SNHU resources, social supports, and motivational factors that will help the most with managing your time. (Add bullet points as needed.)
- My mother and my Professor are my greatest source of social support at this time. These two strong souls keep me on track with my coursework, they pay for my tuition fees and books. Besides that, they motivate me to work diligently in order to build my current occupation. The most interesting part of it all is that they keep track of my schedule on a daily basis and never forget to remind me of my school and bill payments.
- My everyday drive to improve the society begins with myself. I’ll be more stable and happy if I take time out of my day to look after myself. If I don’t take the time to do the things I enjoy, I will become depressed. I’ll become “burned out,” and I won’t be able to work as efficiently as usual.
- The SNHU writing center will aid me in my future courses in many ways and help me to complete my assignments on time. If I am ever unsure of the quality of my writing or need some fresh ideas, I can always turn to the resource center to receive constructive criticism. With the help of the writing center, I will no longer need to stress over getting my essays turned in on time as they will meet my expected deadline and grant me the time to revise my work.
Explain how you will take ownership of your future academic success by managing your time with SNHU resources, social supports, and motivational factors.
I would do the best I could with the help of SNHU’s campus advising and the tools available on campus. This would save me time from having to go to different sites to look for the college’s learning resources. By cultivating transformational collaborations with community-based organizations, utilizing SNHU resources, and ensuring that I follow the activities calendar and study groups to finish the assignments on time, they hope to create the conditions for marginalized learner populations to unlock their potential and achieve success in both schools and the workforce.
- My future time management will be influenced more by my interactions with friends and family. Spending more time with friends has both positive and negative consequences for my future actions. As a result, I would spend less time with my family and friends and more time on activities that would help me advance in my career. This has an impact on the quality of your decisions and, as a result, on almost every aspect of your life, from professional advancement to relationships, friendships, and social life. When you’re nervous, tired, or under pressure, smart time management can help you avoid making bad judgments.
- I would remind myself that I have influence over my fate and that anything I do now will have a positive impact on my future life. As a result, whatever I do today will benefit my life.
Revise your original mission statement. Include the feedback you received on that draft.
When I first enrolled, I had no idea what I wanted to pursue. All I knew was that I wanted to be able to care for my daughter and set a good example for her. My personal mission statement is now to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in human services in 2026. As a result, I can work for the Department of Children and Family Services as a case agent. This is crucial for me because I want to be able to assist youngsters. I had a difficult childhood, and I’m not sure where I would be today if there hadn’t been people willing to help me, and I want to offer that support system for any children who need it. Working in this sector will enable me to not only care for and stabilize my family, but also to assist other children and their families.
Revise your original goals. Include the feedback you received on that draft.
- During my first week of school, my first short-term aim is to strive to strike the right balance between my current employment, spending time with my family, and performing my schoolwork. This will enable me to exercise good time management and establish a timetable, making life easier than it is currently.
- My second short-term objective is to finish all of my assignments on time and to receive an A in all of my current classes this semester. I want to get off to a good start in college and keep my GPA as high as possible. This, I believe, will provide me with the extra incentive and determination I need to continue on track with my studies and earn my bachelor’s degree.
- My third short-term aim is to earn a promotion at my current employment to assist pay for college and provide some financial respite during the pandemic. Receiving a promotion and the additional funds will assist alleviate some of the financial strain placed on my family as I work toward completing my bachelor’s degree
Describe the importance of setting goals on your academic journey.
Goals hold students accountable: Setting a goal motivates people to take action, no matter what obstacles they face. As a result, it can assist students in developing critical thinking skills, innovative problem-solving methodologies, and a better understanding of how to solve problems.
- Goals keep students progressing: Students might work toward a specific objective by writing it down in their calendar. When these objectives are written down, they become an external manifestation of inner desires to better academics, sports skills, or gain a new rank. Without defining goals, students can drift from one aspect of their lives to the next. Setting a goal provides clarity and a sense of connection between the process of hard work and the achievement of a significant goal.
- Goals prepare students for the future: Through goal planning, students learn that hard work and excellent habits are virtually always the keys to success. As a result, pupils gain a greater understanding of the effort and persistence required to achieve more substantial life goals. Setting goals is vital not only for assisting students in getting more out of their academic experiences, but it also implies that they will utilize the same skills to apply for a high-ranking job or earn a new promotion in the future.

Identify academic skills and social supports to help you achieve your goals and mission statement. (Add bullet points as needed.
Over the years of taking online classes, I’ve developed a variety of academic skills that will aid me in achieving my objectives and, eventually, completing my personal mission statement. My ability to use Microsoft Excel to plan out my impending tests and assignments has proven to be the most useful talent I have. This tool has been quite beneficial to me, especially when I am stressed about deadlines. When there is no guardian to remind you of your dates, school might sometimes appear to be absurd online. I can customize my education plan and stay on top of all I need to remember by utilizing Microsoft Excel.
- My mother and the neighborhood librarian will always be available to help me achieve my objectives. My mother regularly reminds me to keep up with my classes and complete all of my work to the best of my ability, knowing that I strive for straight A’s. For years, my librarian has been there for me, and he is my best human services and advocacy resource. He has a deep and comprehensive awareness of human rights and needs. He is also my motivation for wanting to work in this profession because he has shown me how badly individuals are treated in our society.
Identify motivational factors to help you achieve your goals and mission statement. (Add bullet points as needed.)
Tell people your goals: Telling someone close to you about your objectives is a wonderful approach to inspire yourself. It could be a coworker or a family member, but making your objectives public will motivate you to achieve them because you will be held accountable.
- Reward yourself: One of the most powerful motivational variables is positive reinforcement. You can reward yourself for accomplishing your ultimate objective or for reaching specific milestones.
- Set objectives: Setting goals can help you stay motivated. It allows you to focus your efforts on the things that matter most in your professional and personal life. To make goals that are Specific, Attainable, Measurable, Relevant, and Timely, consider using the SMART technique.
- Keep track of your advancement: Plan how you’ll measure your progress and what you’ll need to do to meet your objectives. For example, if you want to increase your sales by 50% by the end of the year, you may check your totals every month to make sure you’re on track. Seeing that you’ve made progress toward your objectives can inspire you to work even harder.
Explain how you will take ownership of your future academic success by using SNHU resources, academic skills, social supports, and motivational factors to achieve your mission statement and goals.
I plan to use SNHU’s tutoring and coaching programs to ensure that I stay on track for success. I plan to seek writing aid as needed, employing both academic support and my stepmother’s written feedback option. I’ll continue to use my weekly calendar and add to it as needed. Keeping my ultimate end goal in mind will help me succeed and stay motivated in difficult classes.
