The Three Phases of Invention
Discuss about the Emerging Technologies And Innovation.
This report explores different articles that have been published about the new technologies and innovation. Much innovation have been displayed by various scientist on various fields. From research there has been a number of new inventions in the past three years. Invention takes place in three phases. The three phases include the emerging phase, the growing phase and the maturity phase. The invention that will be discussed are either on the growing phase or the maturity phase. In the emerging phase new companies appear displaying the new products. According to research, the companies are small and entrepreneurial and are uncertain about the market reaction to the new product. It is said that the companies are said to be struggling. Second,is the growing phase. This is the phase where most innovations and new technology are based. From research, the uncertainty of business at this point is reduced. In this phase, there most companies encountered much cost and failure trying to fit in the market. Some invention failed at this point, other changed the product version while others thrived to the maturity phase. The mature phase; this is the point where most technologies made in the market. These are the products to be discussed in this report. Most of the new inventions in this stage are said to make much profit and making great advances in the use of the products. At the mature stage these technologies still evolve and differ in degrees of technology. The products made much impact in the market for them to pass the growing phase.
The growing phase does not end. The inventor came up with many idea over time to fit the market. The products have been of great impact in the market. The invention is said to be efficient in performance. The emerging technologies include; seamless voice recognition, 5G technology, driver-less cars, UI overhaul, Artificial intelligence (AI ) or Internet of Things (IoT), Prescriptive analytics , 3-D printing and Edge cutting. These are the major innovations that emerge in the past few years. This report gives some detailed research of the listed emerging technologies (“You’ll want to keep an eye on these 10 breakthrough technologies this year”, 2018). Numerously research groups have researched on the emerging technologies.
First, seamless voice recognition entered the world recognition recently. The invention was catchy, when people realized that machines could understand human. At the emerging stage, the spoken word was developed in advance of the noted counterpart. Human can speak 150 words per minute. The communicating technological devices via voice become popular and that why most companies that offer voice services are among the richest companies in the worlds. The recent technology has a foundation of the past voice recognition platform. The earliest speech recognition focused on the vowel sounds, as the system could also interpret phonemes (“MFCC-Based Voice Recognition System for Home Automation Using Dynamic Programming”, 2016). Some diction machines were invented by Thomas Edison in the 19th century. The diction machines could record speech which helped the doctors and the personal assistants in the routine of taking many notes. Later, Audrey created another machine that understood values 1-9. The systems has an accuracy of 90%. With time a machine that would understand more than 1000 words was developed by Alexander Waibel (“Application of Embedded System in Voice Recognition Control of Smart Home”, 2017). Today IBM has created a system that could adjust to the speakers sound. The system has adapted to the voice recognition machine. Machine learning has been implemented in many scientific fields. Today, Google has a voice search app in the phones. The application has a lot of training data. Google has introduced a number of elements such as the humming bird algorithm, direction and mapping, calling, sending messages, finding the contacts and also weather prediction. The google assistant has been updated to perform the task highlighted above. The uses of Google Assistant has helped quite number of people. Siri is used in the Apple’s industry for voice recognition. The Artificial Intelligence-powered digital assistant has brought touch of humanity to the devices. The human has the feeling of being more attached to the machines as they can talk to the machines, as they do talk to the fellow people. Microsoft has also developed Cortana and Amazon has Alexa(“Voice Recognition Based Call and Notification Android App”, 2017). The smartphones have become quite useful as users do not necessarily need to be in contact with the phone. The voice recognition application has helped in many daily activities. The activities include unlocking pixels, opening other apps with the voice, google search, ask for advice on what meal to take, assist in suggesting vacation spots, assists in reading news, acquiring weather forecast, get movie tickets, play some tunes, look into email appointments and set reminders. From the research made, the seamless voice recognition is a new technology that has helped the busy people(“235 Emerging Tech Trends For 2018 – Amy Webb – Medium”, 2018).
Emerging Technologies
Secondly, 5G technology is the new technology on the table. 4G technology has reached the peak and now most companies are preparing for the 5G technology in the devices. 5G is more costly to implement. Companies have developed 5G products. The 5G technology was brought by Nokia and Ericson. The 5G network brings about the technology of self-driving cars. The speed of 5G network is greatly enhance for the ultimate performance for various devices that can stand the speed. 5G is the next wireless technology that is more responsive than anything invented before. 5G will be used in devices such as self-driving cars, trend of devices and in the telemedicine. Mobile phones with pucks are yet to be invented to use the 5G technology (Tariq, 2016).
5G NR is also important. NR refers to New Radio. Researchers say, with the use of 5G NR, everyone is one the same page either the use of 5G mobile networks. Carriers such as the T-Mobile and AT&T have already followed the 5G NR in building their networks. The 5G technology is yet to get to the market. Currently, the devices to use 5G are being developed too. The ZTE is said to be testing the infrastructure and the devices for a short time to avoid any problems that may arise during the deployment of the 5G technology. Dan Hays says that he expects most customer using 5G to suffer as they may be problems of the 5G devices connection to devices with lower technology (“ADVANCED WIRELESS NETWORKS: VISION AND FUTURE OF 5G WIRELESS MOBILE TECHNOLOGY”, 2018).
The third emerging technology involves, the emerging driver-less cars. The technology of driver-less cars emerged in 2017. There have been many road inconveniences such as traffic. Such problems are meant to be solved by the driver-less cars. The driver-less cars are assembled with much sensors. These vehicles view the surrounding using many camera installed in the vehicles. The cars also have the camera and radar sensors. The sensors are used to bounce the light so as to determine the distance difference between the car and the object. The sensors are used to determine the shape and the location of the objects surrounding the driver-less cars. These vehicles are fixed with high –speed processors. The process crunch the data into 360` degree picture. According to the inventors these driver-less cars should know what action to take after detecting objects near them. The vehicle can either stop, move or change direction.
Seamless Voice Recognition
The safety regulators say that these vehicles are safe as most accidents are blamed on human errors such as driving while drunk, texting while driving or people not able to stop in case of an accident. The advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) include cruise control, emergency breaking system, backup cameras and self-parking systems. The number of ADAS has increased from 2014-2017 with a merge of 50 percent.
Research shows that the customers are willing to pay for the declining prices have led to technology’s proliferation. The drivers opt to pay an addition of $2500 for the addition of ADAS features. These features are only found in the luxury houses only. This is done to reduce the number of accidents and crashes. The industry has not yet provided the optimum solution for the ADAS. The industry is also perfecting the ADAS vehicle as during March 2018, ADAS vehicle did hit an elderly woman. Research is still been done to determine why the woman was hit. The ADAS vehicles are expected to the perfect on the road as the vehicles are configured in the right way(Zhang, Zhang & Bi, 2017). The technologies that have emerged on the ADAS vehicle include: camera over radar, radar over camera and the hybrid approach. The camera over radar depends intensively on the camera systems and then adds the radar data. The radar over camera relies on the radar sensors then, then supplement the content with camera information. For the hybrid approach combines the camera information with the radar sensors information. The ADAS solution of the road has been recognized, but some errors are still been corrected in the ADAS. The ADAS systems has been in incorporated to the normal vehicle. This has helped the drivers rely on the automation process beyond their capabilities.
3-D media printing has been around for a long time. Only the expert designers were aware of the technology. Today, 3-D printing is becoming cheaper and quite easy for the manufacturing parts(Coward, 2015). If the 3-D printing technology is widely adopted, then it could really change the way many people produce their products. Manufacturers need yo maintain large inventories such as when one is replacing an aging car. The 3-D printing technology has created lighter, stronger and complex shapes that aren’t possible with conventional metal fabrication methods. Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory developed a printing method for stainless parts. In Boston, a company released 3-D metal printer. The sale of the 3-D printers will be done this year. Most companies don’t have enough people with the knowledge of cloud AI. When the cloud puts the technology within the reach of everyone, AI will commence officially.
5G Technology
Online privacy is another trending new technology. Internet privacy has been an achievement for many users online. There are emerging cryptographic tools known as zero-knowledge proof. The researchers have work on this technology for many years. The digital currencies use cryptocurrency . This was launched in 2016. The method used was referred to as zk-SNARK. Banks could use this system in the block chains. This method will not disclose the clients’ privacy. This enhances security in the bank systems (Chen, Beaudoin & Hong, 2017).
The other emerging technology is artificial intelligence (AI). AI is also referred to as Internet of Things. Many sectors in the market have incorporated the use of artificial intelligence. AI is leading in the enhancement of services in areas such as hospitals, schools, and Cybersecurity and business productivity. AI is also very useful in identifying images from a a milion pictures. AI can tell with the uncanny accuracy which pictures shows a person standing. The AI developers ensure that the frameworks deployed are flexible. The pillars for facilitating responsible AI system include workforce development, cyber security and authentication, data innovation policy and having confidence in the AI systems(Ennals, 2014). AI has a high potential to change the society to better decision making and improving the working environments. The AI system has been integrated in institutions such the financial institutions making the daily work flow smooth. The AI integration can be risky if no risk assessment is done. AI can pose threats to the vulnerabilities that are already existing in the society. The areas that have benefited from the AI include healthcare, automotive. Cybersecurity, e-commerce, customer care and virtual personal assistants.
The healthcare has a lot of data. The data is sometimes difficult to retrieve. With the assistance of AI, data can easily be mined and the analyzed into patterns in the diagnosis, progression or treatment pf any medical account. AI is also used by the cardiologists in detecting the early stages of a heart disease. AI systems are more accurate compared to human minds. AI is said to be helpful in cybersecurity. The AI helps in detecting cyberattacks and could even block users who are trying to hack into the system(Botega, Silva & Murphy, 2018). AI send notification to the system owner about the vulnerability in the system. AI is also used in e-commerce. AI helps in making analytics of the transaction taking place in an e-commerce site. The AI could help to determine the number of visitors in an e-commerce site. When the business has accurate analysis the business will make the right decisions for business. Also, AI helps in managing the customer calls. AI is best fit for customer services(Talley, 2017). Customer tend to ask common queries such as “where is my order”, “can I get a refund” and other common queries. The system can be configured to detect some queries and to automatically send a response to the customers. The AI can also be used as virtual personal assistants. The assistants include Alexa, Cortana and Siri. The assistance involves choosing music, security and full control of private cloud storage. AI has not been fully understood,since much can be done using AI that is still not invented.
Driver-less Cars
The emerging technologies encourage the business to become digitized. This will leaded to effective and efficient decision making (Bargshady, Alipanah, Abdulrazzaq & Chukwunonso, 2014). The more the companies become me digitized, the more opportunities from system administrators, system developers and consultants rise. AI may gain a lot to the world. Basically the future s dependent on the AI technology.
There are benefits of using the emerging technologies. Some time back the smart phones, computers, tablets and rotary phones were once emerging trends, Today all these gadgets have become a norm. Whatever now we refer to as emerging technologies including: seamless voice recognition, 5G technology, driver-less cars, UI overhaul, Artificial intelligence (AI ) or Internet of Things (IoT), Prescriptive analytic and Edge cutting will once become a norm too (“The Advantages and Disadvantages of Technology”, 2018). People should embrace new technologies as the emerging technologies main purpose is to improve people’s live. The technology advancements help to complete tasks more efficiently . The emerging technologies are meant to keep people safe and protect the environment. If any technology is hazardous to the environment , the the law enforcers will stop the technology from being used (Costanzo & Masotti, 2017).
The emerging technologies have come to make the daily life activities more efficient (Eom, 2014). Inventions such as computer, telephone and cellular phones have changed the human life. Communication has become more efficient. Today business are conducted more efficiently. Without have to travel over long distances. The new technologies should increase the efficiency and improve the productivity.
The emerging technologies other purpose is to ensure safety. The new technologies ought not to be dangerous. The system should ensure safety and also helping improving the safety precautions. The Department of Transportation have started a new technology that will host six Driver Acceptance Clinics across the country. This is to perform a test on the emerging technology that should allow vehicle-to-vehicle communication (Benedetto & D’Amico, 2015). The Department of Transport will help the motorist to avoid collisions and provide warning to the driver in situations of potential crashes.
The emerging technologies play a role in maintain human health or restoring human health (Tiwari and Gallagher, 2017). For example the human chairs were invented to help the people whose legs won’t allow them to walk freely. Positron Emission Tomography was invented. It was found to be a quicker way of diagnosing chronic diseases such as cancer and cardiovascular. Many technologies are being used in the health facilities to ensure patient get the best treatment possible to save their lives. In the future the PET imaging technology will be widely used in most countries for cardiac diseases.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Internet of Things (IoT)
The emerging technologies also here to curb the destruction made by humans. Humans are know for polluting the environment. There are many emerging technologies that geared towards the conservation of the environment. Most scientists and innovators are creating eco-friendly gadgets. George bush had signed the Energy independence and Security Act. Also Frances Arnold designed enzymes for making biofuels. The innovation’s purpose wast reduce green house gases.
Integration the emerging technologies discussed, the emerging technologies are helpful in the society by making the daily activities efficient and effective. Most people who ignore these technologies should be inform of them and the advantages they bring to various industries. Also more innovation should be invented with an aim of making work easier and efficient(Paulsson, 2018).

The results indicate significant effects of the the emerging technologies and innovations (“Forbes Welcome”, 2018). The more the innovations, the more problems are solved. Life become simpler with more innovations. The young people should be encouraged to come up with more innovations as they have time to build on their ideas. There are many organizations will to fun the emerging innovations. Financial issues should not hinder people from becoming creative. With more mentors to encourage innovation the the world would be a better place.
