Time Management: An Essential Skill for Quality Services
- The proposed change is based out of the human resources department. It consists of a project that will aim at achieving the goals of better customer satisfaction. The project will primarily consist of training employees and monitoring their performances after the same. This training will be imparted with the supervision of highly experienced professionals and advanced technology so that there is well informed and well analyzed customer servicing. This project will cause the firm to take up additional costs and hence enter into a business cycle of change management in terms of employees and budgeting pattern.
- The current stage is that the customers are not satisfied with the service extended by the customer executives at the retail stores selling the engineered product. Undertaking this training project with the inclusion of the changes mentioned above will help to increase the amount of customer satisfaction as well as help in the generation of greater amounts of revenue.
- The proposed change is that more rigorous training will be provided to the customer care and customer servicing employees employed at all levels in the hierarchical structure of the firm by highly experienced training professionals, which in turn will cause the employees to reach their maximum potential. This again will help the firm to reduce the potential gap in the area of customer servicing. The employment of better technology for both providing the training as well as catering to the needs of the customers will in turn help to reduce the total amount of taken for reaching the desired goals in this aspect for the firm. This in turn will require immense amounts of change management and strategic management of the already employed trainers in the project.
The changes in the project being undertaken are in fact to reduce the amount of time taken for the various procedures of the training so that the best quality services can be provided to the customers and the procedures that are needed to be undertaken in the various retail are less consuming. I think that this will provide added advantage to the already existing customer base and will help in generating an even broader customer base. Time management in general refers to the set of skills, tools and techniques required to reach the goals of a project on time (Oettingen et al. 2015). I personally feel that it will help in increasing the general level of productivity of the employees. In this particular case, regular workshops, training sessions and monitoring of the performance of the employees involved in customer servicing is very important. For enhanced time management, the employment of experienced professional to the training project will prove efficient. This way I will be able to better distribute the responsibilities in the sense that the responsibility of providing the training and monitoring the performance of the employees can be distributed among the new trainers and the already existing trainers. This will increase the speed of the process and help in easier achieving of results (Kerzner and Kerzner 2017). Further, the use of proper models of analysis and technology will also help to provide faster services to the customer as well as help gauge the performance of the employees in a mechanised and automated manner. This in turn will ensure that the goals of increased customer satisfaction and higher revenue generation are achieved faster than otherwise.
As a project leader, I feel that communication skills are absolutely important and necessary for any project undertaken, especially for a person holding my position, that is, the position of a project leader. Communication is very important as it will help in ensuring transparency and will lead to better results as a whole for the project (Koda 2018). Firstly, I will try to be as patient and friendly as possible so that there is lesser friction from the already existing employees towards the new trainers. This will help in easing up the process of transition. Further, I think being able to convey messages in a prompt but concise manner and being approachable will help in increasing communication. Further, I think being open to all kinds of ideas, thoughts and perspectives will help in gaining a deeper knowledge and will help in faster problem solving of the issues faced by the different employees working and operating under me. As it is a project aiming to increase customer satisfaction, communication is of utmost importance according to me as it will help in better interaction with the customers and help me in the long run to understand their problems specifically. I personally think that in the context of communication, non-verbal communication also forms a very important aspect of communication. This includes mails, inferences and listening skills. I think a combination of all of this will help me to understand my co-workers better and help in easier achievement of the goals.
Communication Skills: Ensuring Transparency and Better Results
I think that leadership skills encompass a wide range of qualities that are required to get employees to do the work that they were hired for and achieve the common goals facing the firm or the project together. For me, the first most important sill that I need to implement for the success of this project includes motivation of the employees. It is very important to help them realise that the project will help to increase the brand value off the product which in turn will help them to identify themselves as a part of the brand. Further, the concept of empathy and being a good listener is also equally important as it will help the employees to be transparent with each other, open up about the problems faced and ease the problems with better solutions. Further, the quality of distribution of work in the right amount and to the right people and holding them accountable for their positions is also important. This can be achieved with better strategising and providing recognition to the employees in different forms. I will also be monitoring the performances and providing g feedbacks so that the employees are able to make better use of their strengths and work on their weaknesses if any.
Professional development involves assessing my own growth in alignment to the growth of my team and the firm as a whole. To monitor this, being the project leader, I will try to ensure that we are continuously working as a team and trying to solve problems based on our experiences and with greater precision. I will try to ensure that all the workers in the team and the new experienced professionals feel comfortable working with one another. I will also try to ensure that all of us are able to adapt to new ways of working, new timings in the work hours, new ways of stress handling as well as getting adapted to the use of newer forms of technology and provide services to customers in an enhanced and a more creative way. I also think that as the project leader I will have to increasingly become efficient in dealing with and solving conflicts. Conflict management will actually be important to ensure there is reduced friction among the employees (Stewart 2014). I think that at the end of the project I will be able to learn a lot and become a better leader than I am right now. Making the project successful will help me to ensure that I have also been able to teach my co-workers to understand and get adapted to changes in the process and people they are working with. In other words, my professional development by undertaking this project will partially depend on their professional development and increasing of their own potential levels.
Engineering ethics refers to the application of ethics and morals in the context of engineering. It encompasses the act of providing assistance and better services to the employees of a fir, the stakeholders, the customers as well as the community in which it is operating (Davis 2017). It refers to the initiatives taken by engineers to provide better quality of services in a sustainable and competent manner. It basically caters to the principles of corporate governance which deal with the providing of the best services to the customers. This project is aimed at bettering the quality of services provided to the customers so that there is an increase for satisfaction. Professional development of the careers of the engineers in the form of better leaders will only allow them to cater to the needs of the customers. This particular project provides an example of engineering ethics that helps in using the subject knowledge and the morals to provide better services to the consumers that in turn help in generating increased amounts of revenue generation for the firm. As the project leader, I will be ensuring that the consumers have the best means of services and ensure that the project is lead and carried out in a truthful and efficient manner so that everyone is able to learn and adapt.
