Problem Study
This report breaks down the environmental issues by utilizing business Intelligence perception apparatus, for example, Dashboard. This report will direct two unique kinds of investigation and they are Descriptive examination and Prescriptive examination. Generally, this is a business analytics project which generates innovative analytics solutions. The main idea of this report is to educate the students to represent their skills in terms of innovation and creativity for SAP Business Object or Predictive Analytics application, as it requires designing the beneficial visualization solutions for showing the predictive models to identify analytic problems. The analytics here is correlated with environmental issues with help of Dashboad. Additionally, the report demands to implement analytical tools to develop innovative analytics visualization solutions and predictive models for the issues of environment.
The issue that is stress in this report is energy consumption. However, there are various environmental issues like, water reduction, greenhouse gas emission, climate change, energy consumption, pollution etc. At present, the major environmental issues are pollution, Loss of Biodiversity, global warming, Climate Change, overpopulation, Waste Disposal, Natural Resource Depletion, Deforestation, Ozone Layer Depletion, Ocean Acidification, Acid Rain, water pollution, public health issues and so on.
Today it is visible that the environment is changing constantly and it cannot be denied. According to the change in the environment, it is necessary to become aware of its related issues in our surrounding. Various climatic changes are taking place due to warming and cooling periods, which are the results of natural disasters. It is required that people know the environmental dangers our planet is facing.
The objective of this report is to determine how high energy consumption can cause environmental pollution. In correlation with determination, descriptive analysis and prescriptive analysis will be analyzed in this report, using a dashboard. With the help of the dashboard, the main performance indicators will be identified.
1. Problem Study
As mentioned in the introduction, the provided case is about environmental issues. The problem is the causes for the environmental issues are not identified. CO2 causes major issue is polluting our environment. This study requires through analysis for determining how high consumption of CO2 can cause environmental pollution. The relationship between energy consumption and environmental issues must be represented, for improving the environment. The analytics is difficult to understand thus, the business Intelligence tool for instance Dashboad is suggested for clear visualization of data.
2. Environment and related Issues
With the increase in global warming, the current livelihoods are in danger. Although it is not the only environmental issue which should be focused. Around the world, challenging environmental problems are faced by all the people on a daily basis. One such problem is energy consumption. Certain problems are small which can hardly effect the ecosystem, but there exists certain environmental problems which drastically change the environment (Bose, 2010). Planet Earth is on the brink of various environmental disasters. The current environmental issues increases the vulnerabilities to disasters and tragedies. If these issues are not addressed cautiously, the planet is doomed for a disaster. The current environmental issues must be attended urgently. The people on this earth are busy in their own world and have no time to think about the future generation, because their small carelessness can lead to serious problem, which cannot be reversed later on. Even there might be no future at all. The important point is that it is impossible to physically stop the damages caused to the ozone layer, but there are various steps which can be taken for instance, increasing the awareness in the local communities and families will help to have a small contribution towards the environment. Similarly , if small-small groups join hands it can become a large group and large contribution, which will help to have friendly place to live (“15 Current Environmental Problems That Our World is Facing”, 2018).
Environment and Related Issues
2.1Impact of CO2 Use on Environment
Its complex ecological effect will specifically influence business, society, and biological systems; and governments will look to alleviate its belongings with extensive directions. Up to this point, organizations have generally openly produced carbon, yet they will progressively find that those outflows have a lofty cost, both money related and social. Therefore, organizations that keep on sitting on the sidelines will be gravely impaired with respect to those that are currently formulating methodologies to decrease hazard and find upper hand in a warming, carbon-obliged world. To comprehend the back to front effect, administrators need to consider the company’s esteem chain. Any esteem chain movement—inbound coordination, tasks, outbound coordination’s, advertising, a great many sales benefit—can create discharges. The basic proportion of benefits to add up to outflows in the esteem chain can be an extremely telling measure of potential atmosphere affect. In the event that new directions put a cost of, say, $10 a ton on discharges, would that put a noteworthy scratch in the benefits or even swallow them out and out? “Carbon introduction” ascends with the effect of carbon costs on benefits. Like different dangers, carbon introduction conveys open doors and in addition challenges: Forestry organizations, for instance, may find that expelling carbon dioxide from the air by planting trees might be as gainful as chopping them down and delivering paper or plywood.
The discharges effect of exercises in the esteem chain can be immediate or aberrant. Discharges can be created by a movement under the association’s immediate control or instigated by the firm in the exercises of providers, channels, and clients. An organization needs to comprehend the outflows it causes its business accomplices to deliver, and in addition those it creates itself: Both writes are vital focuses for diminishment.
These evolving back to front effects have conceivably progressive ramifications. For instance, present day supply chains, with their transportation-concentrated, in the nick of time stock administration frameworks, may never again be ideal in a world with all the more exorbitant discharges. Also, web based business, with its multiplication of little shipments, may confront genuine breaking points. Also, now and again offshoring, which drives up discharges by extending transportation pulls, might be supplanted by bring down outflows on shoring to close-by groups of providers (“Learn about Energy and its Impact on the Environment”, 2017).
High carbon presentation, as uncovered by a back to front examination, does not without anyone else’s input imply that atmosphere is key for a firm. When chiefs comprehend their company’s general carbon introduction and the discharges effect of particular exercises in the esteem chain, they can devise an activity intend to address them. Discharges concentrated exercises that include little esteem are contender for end or outsourcing to increasingly proficient firms. Those that are vital to esteem may end up key if an organization can diminish its presentation in respect to contenders through enhanced execution (“Environmental Impacts of Renewable Energy Technologies”, 2018).Back to front examination pushes shed light on the rationale behind Organization’s way to deal with atmosphere. Organization’s exercises are coordination’s and transportation-concentrated, and the firm is currently looking to diminish the resultant discharges. At first become flushed this approach looks simply operational: The firm is diminishing vitality use to relieve the potential unsafe impacts of discharges on costs in its esteem chain (“Electricity and the Environment – Energy Explained, Your Guide To Understanding Energy”, 2018).. Organization’s discharges diminishment projects will be key, in any case, on the off chance that it can utilize its scale, scope, capacity to put vigorously in innovation, and reconfiguration of its esteem affix to decrease outflows in a way that is troublesome for its littler opponents to imitate. The above mentioned graph represents the amount of electricity generated in the United States of America, with fossil fuels like natural gas and coal. The graph depicts slight percentage increase in for generating electricity utilizing the renewable resources like wind and solar energy.
Impact of CO2 Use on Environment
During electricity generation, the emissions caused can differ based on country because of various factors some of them are listed below:
- What amount of electricity is generated?

This analysis is denoted as a statistic analysis, because it explains the raw data and assists in interpreting the data easily. The benefits of this approach is it provides understandability and clarity. The clear data can easily help to differentiate the past and present, which helps the analysists to easily conclude the results of the data analysis. This analysis denotes “A minute” time which is passed as past, similar to “A year.” This type of analysis contains various advantages which help the users to learn important details, when compared with the past behavior. It also effectively comprehends the reason for the behavior and how it has influence on the future impacts.
SAP Analysis
Based on the statistics of CO2 emissions throughout the years of 2012 to 2016, is obtained by SAP analysis. This below graph is obtained by using the statistics from databank and created graph using Excel file by importing the SAP business Object. It shows that the peak value of CO2 emission is found in the year of 2013 as 545 kilotons. In the year of 2016, it was reduced to 380 kilotons. Mostly for statistics, the descriptive analysis is used, for instance the basic arithmetic problems like averages, percentage changes etc. This approach of analysis is so effective that the data can be filtered in terms of columns and can be aggregated. Therefore, similar calculation can be easily done using the descriptive analysis. It also supports to show the total stock present in the inventory, along with customer details like average amount spent on every single customer, depending on a month or a year. The sales and profit can be correlated easily. The reporting system of descriptive analytics highlights the historical insights depending on any firm’s financials circumstance, their operations, production, inventory, sales and customers (“Descriptive, Predictive, and Prescriptive Analytics Explained”, 2018).
