The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is a mystery novel by British writer Mark Haddon. The novel is narrated by Christopher John Francis Boone, a fifteen-year-old boy who has Asperger syndrome. Christopher finds his neighbor’s dog, Wellington, dead in the neighbor’s yard and sets out to solve the mystery of who killed Wellington. The novel is written in first-person perspective, with Christopher’s thoughts and dialogue often presented verbatim.
The novel was published in 2003 and won the Whitbread Book Award for that year. It has been translated into 44 languages and has sold more than five million copies worldwide.
