Overview
This report will focus on the event concept and design which is situated in Australia. The client of the event is National Congress of Australia’s First People (Congress). This organization is based on the advocates for recognizing the rights of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders’ people.
About the event
The purpose of the Congress is to keep a track of the previous years’ activities of the members, their policies and advices about the decision to be taken in the following year. Therefore, the event is intended to show the best part of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in front of others. It was a responsibility of the locals to portray the best side of the Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islanders in front of the clients. The strategic goals of the clients’ activities were set by highlighting on the financial expectations. This organization consists of twelve staff members along with six board members. Such events are held in different locations in and around Australia every year. This year the event will be held in the Sydney location.
Event concept
This event is going to be held for improving the life of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders in Australia. Therefore, this event is aimed at portraying the best part of the aboriginal community people. The superior community of Australia has a tendency to look down upon the indigenous people and treat them as inferiors. This event will break the notion of this particular community and show their best parts in front of the clients. The client of the event is National Congress of Australia’s First People (Congress), which is a membership- based organization.
This client organization is responsible for working towards the improvement of social, cultural, economic and environmental future for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders. They help in building and strengthening relationships among the government and industry with the indigenous community people. The client possesses fair and wide membership by assuring gender equality and active participation from the youth, urban, regional and remote communities. They encourage leadership among the indigenous community people, which changes based on the members’ decisions.
In front of such a reputed organization, the event needed to be conducted properly so that it leads to a better outcome for the aboriginal community. The location is set to be Sydney for the current year and the event will be held for two consecutive days to serve the purpose of showing the best part of Sydney in front of the event audience. The event will consist of 200 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders from all over Australia that will include academicians, cultural leaders and professional members. Brownlow Medallist and Adam Goodes were selected as the key speakers for the event. The total budget allocated for the event is approximately $175,000, out of which $70,000 is allocated for the grand finale.
Event theme
The theme of the event is to conduct a unique, exciting, joyful, motivating program to commemorate the success of the previous years’ events. The theme will be set in such a manner that the cultural aspects of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders are highlighted in front of the clients. The intention behind organizing this event is to offer the guests a scope for relaxation, unveil their stress and enjoy with the help of a membership- based organization. Moreover, the event is an opportunity to raise funds for the indigenous community. There will be no provision for alcohol in the event to maintain the dignity of the Aboriginal community despite the fact that the Board members have agreed to set up a cash bar.
