Social Aspect
Discuss About The Events Management Principles And Practice.
The event has been planned by the municipality of Sidney township in association with the ministry of internal affairs in Australia which usually occur every year within the Australian community. According to Ford & Markwell (2017), this is because the Aboriginal and the Torres Straight Islanders have been despised by the superior community of Australia because they are indigenous people. The superior community perceive them as inferior people without value in the society. According to Jones (2017), this event has an objective of showing the best part of the Aboriginal and the Torres Islanders so as to show the community that in deed they are also worth and need to be treated just like any other person in Australia. The event shall work on the following key aspects in relation with the Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islanders just to prove to the community what they are capable of doing:
Their society will be depicted as comprising of people who are welcoming and who are peaceful and kind to others.
According to Van der Wagen& White (2018), their culture shall be appreciated through various activities such as eating some of their cultural food, watching their performance of their cultural dance and music and many other cultural activities just to enable the Australian community to appreciate their culture.
Their economic activity shall be expounded on and an analysis of their economic contribution
to the Australia economy to enhance their value to the nation so as to be treated normally.
Their corporate social responsibility aspects to the society can also be outlined e.g. how often they have engaged in tree planting activities, environmental conservation and the whole aspect will be clearly depicted so that the Australian community can appreciate their existence among them.
The purpose for all these activities is to enhance a proper image of the indigenous group in Australia. All these activities shall take place at Sidney complex conference in the 3rd street, driving plaza avenue, 4th floor from 14th to 15th September 2018, from 10. 00AM to 6P.m
This theme has been used to emphasize on the importance of the Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islanders people so as to make them feel part and parcel of the Australia general community which will enable them to work towards the general development of the nation together with the other communities (Raj, Walters & Rashid ,2017). The theme of the event is to show the best part of the Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islanders in the presence of the ‘superior ‘Australian community through a wonderful program to celebrate the success of the past years’ events. The theme shall clearly bring out the cultural aspect, the social aspect, the economic aspect and the environmental aspect of the Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islanders so as to create a new impression in the minds of the ‘superior’ community on how good they are in the various sectors of life. In order to support their various economic activities, the event shall be a good opportunity for raising the funds which shall enhance their life hence relationship with the other communities in Australia.
Cultural Aspect
According to Griffin (2009), the venue shall be decorated with various colors as per the Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islanders traditional attire. The walls shall have various pictures of their accomplishments in the society such as photos of their corporate social responsibility, their fundamental cultural activities, their traditional diet decorations shall also be on the table. All the people who will attend the event shall be decorated with a traditional red soil on their forehead which usually signifies an act of appreciated among the community for something good done to them. The venue’s wall shall be decorated with a mixture of brown and blank color which shall be a representation of their cultural dressing.
Stoyanova-Bozhkov (2017), states that for the community event to be successful, various things are required. Catering team should be there to prepare meal for the visitors, various facilities required for the event include: the tent where visitors shall sit, plastic chairs, and the security personnel and all these shall be provided by the government under the ministry of internal affairs in Australia. This is because the government itself fully supports equality hence it shall fully support the event for the creation of awareness to the general community.
This is very important because it’s what makes the community event marvelous (Van Niekerk ,2017). Musical instruments should be there so as to cheer up the visitors who will have to dance to some music of their choice. There should be devices such as microphones, box speakers and a good source of power that will enable the smooth operation of the devices. The projector shall be used to project all the proceedings in the event.
The event shall be so nice with entertainment through some cultural shows where the Aboriginal and the Torres Straight Islanders shall be able to show the audience their traditional songs and few funny Stories in their culture which shall make the audience to be in jovial mood and be able to appreciate their culture. Traditional aspect shall be emphasized in all the songs, narrations and plays.
The event shall take place at Sidney complex conference in the 3rd street, driving plaza avenue, 4th floor from 14th to 15th September 2018, from 10. 00AM to 6P.m. It is a very huge and spacious hall that will be able to accommodate a large number of people.
The invitation cards should be designed for the specific guests. This is important because such people feel valued and part and parcel of the event and incase of any problem such as financial strains, they usually offer a very big support.
Economic Aspect
According to Todd, Leas & Ensor (2017), the major participants the event will be the Aboriginal and the Torres Straight islanders together with the ‘superior’ community in Australia. The Australian ministry of internal affairs shall also be the key player in the event by provision of the event attire and other important equipment that shall facilitate the success of the event.
