Functional Requirements of the Project
NBN is one of the government owned Australian corporation that is mainly tasked to design, build as well as operate the broadband network as one of the monopoly wholesale providers of broadband. It is identified that NBN aims to extend its services of broadband in Nepal so that the households as well as business of Nepal does not face internet connection issue. The services of broadband will be provided not only in the cities of Nepal but also in the areas that are too far from the cities. The project that is mainly undertaken for extending NBN in Nepal will be completed successfully within the time-period of 18 weeks if the project will be commenced on 30th May 2018. The assumed end of the project will be around 2-10-18. The objectives of the project are reflected below:
- To extend broadband services in Nepal
- To provide high speed of internet connection

The requirements of the project “extension of NBN in Nepal include number of functional and non-functional requirements that are generally reflected in the table below:
Functional requirements
The functional requirements of the project are as follows:
Authentication: The organization must provide the authentication facility to the users so that only authorized users can be able to get within the network thus avoiding unauthorised access.
External interface: Firewall must be used for obstructing any type of security issues for securing the network from various types of attacks.
Historical data: The NBN must provide the facility of historical data access so that information as well as details can be accessed by the authorized users whenever needed.
Non-functional requirements
The non-functional requirements are as follows:
Availability: NBN must provide 24×7 service of internet connection for the business as well as for household uses.
Reliability: Reliable broadband service must be provided by NBN in Nepal so that the customers can trust the service.
Performance: NBN must provide high internet connection speed for fulfilling the demands of the customers and providing them proper satisfaction.
