The business that is chosen for the project is the education sector project.
For any kind of business, it is necessary to do the job step by step. Five stages are there, and each of the steps has their significance in the project. In the project of the education sector.
In the first stage, the development plan is made for the project. For the education sector project, a proper application, interface and the development needed to be carried out separately. An application that is supported for the business needed to build. In this part the main planning done that how the interface of the project will be and the further application of the project after completion. The main challenge is if the plan is not done properly then there is a chance that the project get fail and will not sustain in long term.
In the second stage, the assessment is done on the dependencies of the business (Bryson 2018). Applications for MIS and operations are prioritised in this stage. The application of the project that are crucial after the project plan is assessed in this stage. This stage manage the information system for the project. Challenge of this stage is that of the information system is not managed properly then the business will get affected after the project launches in the market.
In the third stage, the detailed plan is made for the education sector as per the IS or IT. In this stage, the main emphasis is on the operating system rather than the application support. It is only can be done after completing the first two stages successfully. This stage make sure that there will be no problem and disadvantages in the IS. The problem that can raise if the last two stages is not done properly for the IS.
Five Stages for Implementing IS/IT in Education Sector
In the fourth stage, the innovations are proposed for the project to grow in the market after the evaluation. The business-driven the potential of the project which is high. This stage sees the new opportunities in the project. The main challenge associated is that the scope needs to be properly identified in order to project get success. If the new innovations do not execute properly then the project can be of a waste. Challenges are there also with business opportunities.
The ideas and the plans that are made in the last four stages for the education sector project will be implemented in this stage. With these five stages, many processes and the challenges are involved. If all the stages are not done properly, then the chances are there for the project to fail miserably. If the application of the strategy is not properly identified then the business strategy will not work properly and the project will not be able to fulfil the business requirements. The link between the IS/IT need to be linked properly with the business strategy in order to avoid achallenges.
As the project is of the education sector project, so regular improvement is necessary for the project to mitigate the challenges and the risks associated with this. The improvement is needed for the cost and ass well as for the services of the project. The cost of the project must be in a range so that the people can access the project after evaluation. A project must be cost-efficient and provide benefits to the people (Bohari, Hin & Fuad 2017). As the time goes after the project implementation, the cost of the project must be improved. If the initial price of the project is high, then the impact on the project may be low. After a certain period if the price is reduced, then the impact can be gone higher for the education sector project. Improve is made in the cycle between the cost higher to lower regarding the situation. The outcomes of the project are depend on the situation of the project cost. The changes in the cost can have many impacts. There are many situations where a high cost can be impact and low cost impacted low for the particular projects (Montenegro & Flores, 2015). For a project, a cost that is stable can result impactful for the project as throughout the lifetime of the project cost is the same for all. If the project cost fluctuates frequently, then it will affect the customers and on the project impact. In the all possible outcome, there is a spot which is known as the sweet spot as the spot is beneficial for the project as well as for judgement on the IT strategy that requires lower cost the customer of the project. A sweet spot is where project cost is low, and the impact of the project is also high (Vecchiato 2015).
Regular Improvement in Cost and Services
Some proposal will be made for the project so that the suppliers, customers, and the competitor requirement can be met for enhancement. Cost of the supplier is reduced then the cost of the project will automatically less, and for the project management, it will be very beneficial. The customers that are loyal for the education sector will be provided with better services than the others. The project must seek for more than one resource of the supplier. This will benefit the project as if one supplier is not meet the requirements of the project; then another supplier can help the project to reach the goal (Birkmann 2016). The project must improve the quality of the services for the customer and the products that the customer is purchasing from the business. The customer can be retained for the project if the cost of the project gets lower and the service provided to them is better. Cost changes can affect the customer base in both ways as a price drop attract the new customers but the Id customers can be annoyed by this change, and they will move to another place for the services. The customers could be retained for the business if all the customer were provided with a better service and good quality product. The education sector department must target the customers that are potential for the project and will be beneficial for the project to generate more revenue. For any kind of project, competitors are the main threat as it is necessary to identify the competitors to survive in the market. The education sector business must analyse the other education sector business cost so that their business can surpass the competitor. The business can reduce their production cost than their competitors so that the competitor cost will be high and the impact of the competitor will be less. The education sector project can work in the joint venture so that they can grow gradually and generate more revenue (Ward & Peppard, 2007). A new and innovative strategy they can implement which is not present in their competitive businesses.
Strategic planning system is necessary for any kind of project management. Many organizations are adopting the strategic planning for their project development. The strategic planning includes the cost and budget estimation for the project. Old strategic planning is not uses the updated software, the new strategic planning uses the new technology for the project management. As like the information technology the strategic planning is also implemented in the educational sector. The main strategy that is made in the education sector is mainly because of the business purpose rather than the educational purpose. The planning is made so that the education sector will be able to gain revenue from the strategic planning. In the following parts the strategic planning will be discussed in the information technology and in the education sector.
Proposals for Meeting Suppliers’, Customers’, and Competitors’ Requirements
The strategic information system planning & information system is important for projects and the project manager. One of the main success factors is the use of the information system in the project. The data that are collected for strategic information system must be accurate so that the project planning can be successful. The several success factors that are important for the strategic information systems planning are turnover is high for the professionals, an involvement of the management, collaboration, standards of a system, implementation of the resource, competition in market, autocracy and bureaucracy in the organisation. These success factors must be taken care of for the success full planning of the strategic information system (Ziegler et al., 2018). A proper strategy is needed for any kind of project to get success in long-term. In this assessment, the whole strategy is divided into five different stages. Each step is equally important for the project as the project is gradually increasing towards the goal by completing each step.
In the recent time, business strategy and the information technology are serving a key role in the education sector. As the education sector is widely growing so it is necessary for the education sector to have a proper business strategy so that the education sector can survive in the market. The information technology is another aspect that is aligning with the educational sector. An information system is a way in which the education sector can do their marketing so that many people can be associated with them. This will also help the education sector from the business perspective as the business can earn more revenue through the people who are associated with this (Wolf & Floyd, 2017). The information technology provides many benefits to the sector of the education by its offerings. Because of the information technology customer can associate with the educational sector from anywhere at any time. The functionality is also changed in the sector as a different sector using different information technology for their requirement. As the feature is the same so many people are engaging more than before, and the education sector is also growing.
