Problem Solving
Discuss about the Fundamentals Of Wearable Computers And Augmented Reality.
After watching, the videos I get to know about the following aspects of a problem can be identified and solved considering a wider scope for the stakeholders:
Augmented Reality has been is a revolutionary technology that is capable of changing the face of the digital world however, application of the AR has not been seen very popular for the present time. Competition in the commercial business is increasing mostly in the e-commerce sector and I identified that the application of the AR can be a helpful approach towards making it world – wide popular. I learnt the importance of the problem solving and the proposed solution of incorporating the AR within the e-commerce strategies for making it popular and applicable in real life.
I utilized the closed loop of the problem solving processes that includes the processes in loops as follows:
Identification of the problem, thereafter, defining the problem, followed by exploring the problem, and acting upon the identified categories, and finally evaluating the results those have been identified. I have learnt to identify the barriers those might affect the growth and development of the proposed solution and dig out the opportunities from the backlogs to utilize it in making the proposed solution effective. Executing these processes in loop helped in identifying the problem that is related to my field and proposed the solution that can be utilized for making the world a better place and enhancing the application of the AR. These loops is helpful in considering all the wide scope of the identified problem and prepare strategies accordingly to tackle those problems and present a solution that is capable of eliminating the problem to the extent level. IDEAL format helps me I delivering those sequential steps that can finally led to solution as the identified problem in my section was the popularity of the AR technology and that can be delivered only through involving its role in the e-commerce. In addition to the above, I followed the following eight steps for solving this process:
As expressed in the previous assessment, I had already defined the problem that was for my concern and presented the results those I wanted to drive through imposing an effective solution. I gathered information and previous attempts made to launch it in market, and used that information to identify how effective it could be for the chosen solution in making it happen.
Problem Solving Process
Breakfast sandwich made with two slices whole wheat toast, 1 boiled egg, 1 slice low fat cheese; orange juice
Pasta Primavera (spaghetti with tomato sauce mixed with broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots), side salad with fat free dressing, strawberries with fat free whipped cream, water
Baby spinach salad with strawberries and lowfat rasberry dressing, Barbeque baked pork chops, baked sweet potato with 1/2 tablespoon butter, lowfat milk Morning Snack – Baby carrots; Evening Snack – Lowfat chocolate chip granola bar
Third week was all about design thinking and I get to know about how to identify different perspectives of the single proposed solution and identify the course of benefits. There are many pre-existing benefits of the AR however; those are not very popular in the present time. I could have proposed the application in other sectors but it would not result in covering a very wide range of the customers and public. I considered many sectors as explained in the paper where either AR is being used or not but the greatest market of all the time are then e-commerce and thus, I am trying to target that sector. Following technology and application can be represented as the solution:
I used the Boolean logic for the identification of the best course of action. I identified the application of AR in transport, medical, construction, and video games. However, those have been already in practice and that does not resulting in the popularity of the technology and does not opening the door for the technology to be spread in the market. I had also utilized the caused effect table for identifying the best course of the action that is most beneficial in this scenario.
Thereafter, I executed the modelling and abstractions process for developing and identification of the solutions: Based on the above results and identification I get to know about the practical tasks of how demonstrating the system and thoughts utilizing the various processes such as UML, Use Case, Class diagram and others. These techniques are helpful in ensuring the real life demonstration of the scenarios and the outcomes and processes involved in the scenario. I learn to identify the primary and secondary actors for the Use Case and how they will be interacting with system for the accomplishment of the activities and output from the system and delivered the needed input and output. I learnt the demonstration of the critical thinking has been far better than other methods for representing the idea and executing the coding of the demonstrated plan.
Design Thinking
Augmented Reality: Augmented Reality (AR) can be represented as an integration of the digital information in association with the environment of the user in real time. It is a different concept than the Virtual Reality (VR) that is an existing artificial and virtual environment as the AR uses the environment that has been existing and overlaying information and animations over the same information.
The major difficulties in this implementation are the mass implementation of the AR within every e-commerce websites and enhancing the performance of the e-commerce. I will need to develop a system or software that will be incorporable within every type of website and the users will be happy to use the service. The proposed solution will be introducing a virtual feature, which will be allowing the users to combine the virtual animations with the real world objects and chose the perfect product as per their needs and requirements. This will not only enhance the customer experience but also enhance the customer interaction with the e-commerce websites eliminating the need of the Bricks n Mortars shops.
Making the e-commerce more reliable and applicable can be done through utilizing the application of AR technology within their existing system and ensuring that the customers get what they are looking for. This will alternatively enhance the scope of the application of AR technology and thus, will promote the AR technology likings among the common users and e-commerce websites. This will be definitely become a wanting factor for the e-commerce websites and thus, the technology will be used among most of the users and will cover the 70% market that is currently being covered by the e-commerce websites.
Other sectors are also favorable but the most applicable sector is the video games however, the less number of customers results in the decrement of the application and liking of AR technology.
Explanation on the strategy: The proposed strategy is to implement the Augmented Reality (AR) within the e-commerce and allows the customers to enhance the experience in the product selection through mixing the real world object and virtual animations. It will allow the customers to select the most appropriate option for them in single go and not look for online shops for identifying the objects.
Fix problems: Covering the e-commerce market will automatically allow the technology to be used very big crowd of the audience allowing the technology to be introduced and used by various individuals. Thus, this will not only introduce the individuals with the possible benefits of utilizing AR but also allows the e-commerce companies to cope up with confused buyers and provide them exact product best suited according to their needs and requirements.
Reflection on approaches: the approach is to make the world a better place and boost up the digitization that can easily automate the living status of the humans all over the world. E-commerce is the most trending and spread business around the world and every individual who is connected to the internet is utilizing the products and services introduced by them. This will allow making a better jump on the financial values and getting a place in this competitive world.
Difficulties in Developing the Solution; the very first problems would complying of the codes with the existing codes of the e-commerce server, and embed these algorithms on the existing platform of the hosting platform.
